Jax is ‘The Right Stud’, a burgeoning reality tv star who renovates old houses on his YouTube channel. His channel is hugely successful and he is currently vying for the series to be picked up for TV. Ashton’s house was perfect and so their paths crossed, but no before a hot encounter when neither knew who the other was...
Jax and Ashton are terrific characters, fun, sexy, and determined. ‘The Right Stud’ is fast paced, hilarious at times and had some fantastic secondary characters. All in all a fabulous read by this dynamic duo.
Ashton and Jax are great together, and Mrs C and her bird had me laughing. I felt like smacking Ashton's brother to make him see sense and her side of things, but I was glad Lulu finally talked him into listening to Ashton properly.
If the authors write another collaboration, I won't hesitate to purchase it.
The attraction between Ashton and Jax is instant, but their first meeting is brief and doesn't end too well. They try to put their attraction on hold when they realise Ashton had requested Jax and his show to help her renovate her Grandmother's B&B. That's not as easy as they think, as their chemistry is off the charts!!
However Jax is keeping something important to himself (which I certainly don't condone). That being said, he did have good intentions.
Add in some quirky characters and animals, and it was a fun and sexy book.
Loved Ashton and Jax together!
I don't want to give anything away, but this was a great book that I recommend.
Ashton is heartbroken after a her failed engagement. Lulu, her best friend, believes in order to get over the guy is to get under someone else. Ashton isn’t so convinced. Her character is so sweet!! She is sassy yet she is also a genuinely sweet person.
Jax first came off as a little bit arrogant but as the story went on I really loved his character. He wasn’t expecting someone like Ashton to breeze right into his life! These two together got pretty steamy, all those heated looks and steamy touches! These two are seriously cute together!
I really liked the fact that this book made me laugh out loud quite a few times. And who’s idea was it to call the goat, Jean Claude Van Ram? Genius I tell you!! I absolutely love the name! And Rufus was a laugh and a half, along with Mrs C. This story is just a completely cute and funny read that I really enjoyed and I think you will as well. I really want more from Ilsa and Tia!
Sometimes you get to read a book that just makes you really happy - has you smiling the entire time you're reading - this is that book. I love it when these authors write together and I have my fingers crossed we'll get more from these two soon.
A special mention goes to the supporting characters that include a foul mouthed Macaw, a temperamental goat and a retired artist (Mrs C) who had me in stitches for most of the book. I love a story that has secondary characters that enrich the overall story.
Definitely recommend if you're looking for a fun, sexy read.
Ashton and Jax were great characters. They’re both dealing with stresses in their life but their humour and banter never abate.
I enjoyed the book plot. The way they meet and the issues that need to be resolved before our couple get their happy ever after is well thought out.
The secondary characters – all of them – were hilarious, and while he doesn’t say anything I’ve got to mention Jean Claude Van Ram. What a great name for an animal!
I was entertained from the first word to the last. Highly recommended.

Jax and Ashton are terrific characters. Fun, sexy, and determined, they've got their ups and downs, but I believed in them throughout the story. I wanted Ash to find a happily ever after and still hold onto her dreams. I wanted Jax to find success and happiness.
Adding in an amazing cast of secondary characters (2 or 4 legged, with or without feathers!), and a fun, beachy vibe, this book a winner! Highly recommended!!
Jax and Ashton are so adorable, I just loved them. They were fun and sexy, and their chemistry burned up the pages. The secondary characters, animals included, added such great humor to an already entertaining story. I can’t be the only one who now wants to pack a bag and go for an extended stay at The Conch Shell, can I?!?

I love this author and I’ve read almost all her books but this one just didn’t do it for me compared to the others. I found myself laughing out loud and really enjoyed the characters and the storyline but it just didn’t live up to some of her better books.
The chemistry between the two main characters was off the charts in the more intimate moments definitely had me fanning myself.
If you’re looking for a book that’ll make you laugh out loud because of a crazy old lady and her crazy bird this is a great book to choose. Some of her comments about “getting the D” and all the crazy things she and her late husband did had me in stitches.
The Right Stud is a perfect blend of laugh out loud romcom moments, characters and feels.
Like their last book, I fell in love with the characters first. Ashton with her strong sense of family values and her strong yet vulnerable character. Jax sexy as hell panty-melting personality. He does his best to hold his own amongst the chaos that is The Conch Shell. Between Mrs. C, Lulu, the bacon-loving, foul-mouthed parrot Rufus and Jean Claude Von Ram you better be able to hold your own.
Both Ashton and Jax are two people who are trying to make what little they have in their life work. For Jax it’s his online renovation show “The Right Stud”. For Ashton, after ending her relationship with her cheating fiancé all she has left is “The Conch Shell”. A beautiful beach front home that was left to her and her brother by her grandmother. While helping themselves save and build their lives what they didn’t bank is how to handle the heat building between them.
This romcom is filled with unforgettable laugh out loud moments and feels to make you want to read this book again.
Jax Roland is the drop-dead gorgeous home improvement star of The Right Stud and still hurting from his rejection of a wedding proposal to his co-star that was aired on national TV. Just wanting to get on with his life and start his next project for his TV show, Jax ends up on a blind date at the Smoky Siren that his sister set up. Not enjoying this date, Jax's attention starts to wander until he see this bombshell brunette walk in and he realizes that he just has to talk to her. A quick talk turns into a quick kiss and Jax realizes that he needs to get rid of his date. He asks Ashton to wait for him while he runs an errand and she agrees. Too bad he never shows back up. Ashton leaves, badly disappointed.
Ashton and her brother, Ben, inherited her Granny's old beach house. She wants to fix it up to be a bed and breakfast but her brother just wants to sell it for the money. He doesn't have a sentimental attachment to it like she does. At least Ashton has Mrs. C, her Granny's best friend living with her and providing some income. Ashton came up with the idea of contacting the TV show The Right Stud to see if they would be interested in renovating her house for free. Imagine Ashton's surprise when the star from The Right Stud that she is meeting with is none other than Jax from the Smoky Siren! It is obvious that Ashton and Jax have some great chemistry going on and now that he is living in her house, things quickly heat up.
It takes a lot for these two to get their happy ending considering Jax is hiding a very big secret. In between Mrs. C, her foul-mouthed parrot, Lulu, Jean Claude van Ram, Jax's sister and her three triplet daughters, and Ashton's brother, Ben, this story has a lot of fun, laugh out loud moments along with perfect sexy times. I just adored all these characters and the wonderful journey they went on!
“I’m just another goat in the ocean to you.”
Ilsa Madden-Mills and Tia Louise bring a fun, cute romance to the reader with The Right Stud. While I found this predictable it was still a fun, charming read that I couldn’t put down and devoured. With two great characters that had fantastic chemistry, their banter, affection and hormones radiated off the pages as smiles and laughs were aplenty. This was definitely one of those quick, feel good reads.
“You asked if I was happy, and the thing is, I’m not sure I know what happy is. I know what it isn’t.”
Ashton is still getting over the death of her grandma and has thrown herself into restoring the old house that she left to her and her brother. Ashton wants to keep her grandma alive by turning their once family home into a thriving bed and breakfast. Up to her eye balls in debt, thanks to her ex-fiancé, Ashton is jaded and incredibly skint, which leaves her to contact “The Right Stud” as a last resort.
Jax is The Right Stud, a burgeoning reality tv star who renovates old houses on his video channel. His channel is hugely successful and he and his PA were currently vying for the series to be picked up by TV. Ashton’s house was perfect and so their paths crossed, but no before a hot encounter when neither knew who the other was.
“The truth is, South Carolina has never made me happy…until you.”
Ashton is extremely jaded with men in general and while I wanted her to wake up and smell the coffee at times, I could to an extent understand her and empathise. Jax was adorable and perfect, and given Ashton’s reticence to trust men, lies of omission were just as bad in her book. It is this part of the plot that was obvious and had me screaming at the kindle to just tell her, but alas, that not would have made for an entertaining read.
“Okay fine. We had glorious, mind-blowing, stupefying, inconceivable, staggeringly awesome sex.”
The Right Stud is fast paced, hilarious at times and had some fantastic secondary characters that really added value to Ashton and Jax’s story. I full on belly laughed at times and was swooning at all the others. These two authors certainly write well together and have always put out enjoyable, entertaining reads.
Ashton is the partial owner of a beautiful beach house that is in need of tons of work. Jax is a youtube reality star with his renovation show. She needs help, he needs a good project. Matched made in heaven right? With a brother fighting the renovations, a nearly non existent budget for the film, and the off the charts sexual chemistry between Jax and Ashton, this renovation project has its challenges.
There was an unexpected scene stealer, whom I wish lived with me. Jean-Claude van Ram! Oh man! I'll never look at little goats again. And Rufus? You'd think that bird lived in my house!! Spot on with all his remarks! Mrs. C. This lady could be me in 40 years. Completely inappropriate, but completely lovable!!
The Right Stud is the absolute perfect summer beach read! I never wanted the story to end. It’s fun, flirty and has just the right amount of angst. Romcom books are one of my favorites and this one is one of the best ones I’ve read all year. Tia Louise and Ilsa Madden-Mills are a force to be reckoned with! Their writing is so perfect and spot on. I loved every second of this book. And that cover? HOT!!!
I hope we get more fantastic books from these two! I'll be first in line to read them!
This was a cute quick romantic comedy.
Ashton and her brother Ben have inherited a beach home from their late Granny. The house needs a lot of repair and maintenance, and although Ashton wants to fix it up and open a bed and breakfast, she doesn’t have the money. Ben who is a successful attorney would rather them sell the property and split the cash. Ashton contacts Jax, a guy with a home improvement show called The Right Stud. Ashton’s hope is that Jax can cover the costs of the repairs in exchange for filming his show.
The story started out pretty cute and then kinda just lost steam. I liked Jax throughout, but I struggled towards the middle to end with liking Ashton. Instead of being funny, scenes turned a little childish and juvenile. But overall it was a cute story and it does have a happy ending.
