Product Description

Darian King has never met a challenge he couldn’t handle. Running a billion-dollar corporation? Piece of cake. Hostile takeovers? A walk in the park. But when his little sister begs him to plan her wedding, Darian finds himself less than prepared for the task. Luckily, he knows just who to ask for help.

Allison Reed wants nothing more than to leave King Enterprises behind. Being the personal assistant to a man like Darian is a 24/7 job. Asking her to help plan a wedding is simply the icing on the stress-filled cake but to leave she needs a glowing reference and will do anything to get it. Even plan a wedding with the man of her dreams.

Stepping outside the office has unexpected consequences. Darian doesn’t believe in relationships, yet he’s starting to see Allison in a whole new light. But he doesn’t know her secret, and she fears that by the time the vows are exchanged, she won’t just be leaving her job behind but her heart as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Please make this into a movie? lol 9 November 2016

Excuse me while I mop up my drool and happy tears (I'm not actually crying or drooling, but it sets an image, doesn't it?). It's books like this one that make me oh so happy to have gotten into reading romance books. There is plenty of catnip for this blogger - billionaire with a heart of gold, intelligent and strong woman, misunderstandings, an "agreement", and an ending that doesn't make me want to stab something.

Darian is a billionaire who lost his parents at a young age, and has had to care for his younger sister since then. Ali is his loyal assistant who finds herself wanting a normal job with normal hours in hopes of finding a "normal" man to spend her life with. Then, Darian's sister, Jenny, unleashes the big news - she's getting married! And needs Darian (and by default, Ali) to help with the wedding planning. Why, hello! Is that forced proximity? I think soooo.

Usually talk about weddings in romance stories make me want gag. This is due mostly to the utter disappointment that was The Wager. I was pleasantly surprised that the wedding talk in this story did not bother me at all. I really loved seeing Darian and Ali figure out their feelings for each other.

P.S. I tagged this with "billionaire bad boy," but I really don't consider Darian a bad boy. If anything, he is a truly sweet male protagonist with a lack of insight lol

3.0 out of 5 stars Reluctant to love hero doesn't nearly cover it, folks ... 11 October 2016
By FromTheSouth - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
Hold it right there, folks. Reluctant to love doesn’t even begin to describe Darian King, the hero, in this book. If you don’t mind a frustratingly stubborn, doesn’t want to acknowledge true love when he’s already found it, former king of casual/too numerous to count, meaningless encounters with beautiful models/actresses that are frequently referred to, at times hurtful hero just to prove his point, who ultimately ends up pushing the devoted/loyal heroine who’s been infatuated with him for four long years completely out of his life after she confesses her love for him, then by all means, keep reading. This book is definitely for you. If what I said isn’t appealing, well, what to do is pretty obvious. Lay the book down, put your hands up in the air, turn around, and walk away, before your romantic heart gets hurt.

**spoilers possible**

Darian King is determined never to commit/love any woman, because he doesn’t want to risk losing anyone close to him again. Well, isn’t that just too bad for him, my fellow romance book-loving friends, because whether he realizes it or not Allison, his personal assistant, has slowly but surely become the one woman he can’t live without. It literally takes him until the very end of this book though for his heart to convince his head of this very important fact. In the meantime though, he’s quick to use loving type endearment nicknames like “Angel” and “Sweetheart” and get smexy with her in their month long no strings attached final fling. Only Darian doesn’t actually know she’s leaving yet.

Allison has been infatuated with her boss pretty much from day one. I must admit it didn’t sit well with me to discover she’s had to witness Darian’s revolving office door of gorgeous blondes over the years, who have never got him to break his golden rule of no relationships. At least no graphic details are given. When she decides she’s tired of Darian’s 24/7 constant work demands, she finally has had enough and plans to resign. Our doormat heroine though is too afraid to actually turn in her resignation letter. Instead, she allows herself to be roped into helping plan Darian’s sister’s long distance wedding. Upon heeding some advice from her fun loving friend, she decides to throw caution to the wind and offers herself up as a one night stand. After all, what does she have to lose, right? Well, personally I think her dignity and self-respect, but that’s just me, folks. Allison knows she’s leaving soon, and Darian likely won’t even miss her once he’s hired a replacement, so she wants to create a few steamy memories to take along with her.

At 34% into it, with both of them declaring it won’t mean anything and everything will be back to normal on Monday, they give into temptation. You see, he’s been noticing her for some time, as well. With him expecting this to be a one shot deal and her constantly thinking, “I’m not worthy of a rich guy like him”, they end up not being able to keep their thoughts or hands off each other.

At 43%, he admits he still wants her again but is quick to remind her he still never does relationships. In fact, he openly states he won’t ever be her boyfriend. She doesn’t help matters by admitting she can sleep with him without falling in love. She’s the one who suggests a friends with benefits arrangement, btw.

Well, how well does that end up working for her? Not so great. I actually deliberately deleted the rest of this review, because I didn’t want to give away too many spoilers. Let’s just say, if you can endure one sided romantic angst, can put up with a very hurtful at times hero, and don’t mind waiting until the very end to see him grovel, you likely won’t be disappointed. But be warned. He pretty much rips her heart out, stomps on it, hands it to her, then shoves her out the door. At least he gets served a heaping plate of regret and has to somewhat fight to get her back. Not surprisingly she’s forgives pretty easily. Here’s to hoping this fictional character has to spend the rest of his life making it up to her. What can I say? She may not have a vengeful heart, but I sure do. (lol).

Title: Right Billionaire, Wrong Wedding, Author: Victoria Davies, Pages: 216, HEA, some VERY steamy scenes that don’t hijack the storyline, stand-alone, reluctant to love hero, no love triangle, no OM drama, implied previous numerous OW, hurtful at times hero who pushes heroine away, no cheating, heroine feels she’s not worthy to be around rich people.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Nice Romance 17 January 2017

Alison was planning to quit her job but she is in love with her boss. He's very attached to her and needs her help to plan his sisters wedding. He is dead set against commitment. Ali knows how he is but she wants a committed relationship and doesn't want to tell him she is leaving.

This book had an okay premise but you could really feel the affection the characters had for each other. I liked them and reading about them planning the wedding. Wasn't so crazy about the sister and her asking them to do all the work for her wedding.

Spent an enjoyable few hours reading this book
