5.0 out of 5 stars A perfect sweet summer read 2 September 2015

This book is the perfect sit on the beach or at the pool read. Blake and Anne are a breath of fresh air. Their story is a great mix of sweet and hot. The strong determination that the characters have to be independent and live their life as they want is another aspect that I enjoyed. The moments they spend together are fantastic but the internal conversations give you the insight to who they are. Adam, Anne's big brother is a great addition to the characters. If you like quick light reads this is the perfect book. I have read and enjoyed hooks by Aden Lowe and was not disappointed with this unique collaboration. I am crossing my fingers that there will be more in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Glimpse of a Different kind of Life. 19 October 2015

Blake also known as Hound to his MC biker friends, has been hit by an automobile while riding his motorcycle, and is now out of rehab, he wants to recuperate in a beach house that his friends have stocked with supplies that are accessible to him, now that he is in a wheelchair. Blake notices a beautiful girl, he may never have noticed if he wasn't in a wheelchair himself, she was on the beach in her wheelchair and he couldn't help but notice how the sun lit up her hair. But it was time for him to get settled into his temporary home, and his new position with the MC since he couldn't walk. He was good with a computer, so he was still an active member of the MC.

Anne is a beautiful young girl, only 22 years old, that was told by her over-protective parents she needed to be in a wheelchair because she had a bad reaction to a vaccine when she was a child. She doesn't believe this story, but she pretends to believe it for the sake of her family. Normally she wouldn't be anywhere by herself if it weren't for her brother intervening for her and lying to their parents that she was going to be somewhere else with friends to help her. Her brother Adam loves her very much, he can be overbearing also, but he also understands her need to be alone, and to also feel she can make it on her own. She loves listening to Taylor Swift, and reading is another passion she has. She is completely innocent, she hasn't even been kissed in all of her 22 years.

This book is well written and the fun that Ashley Wheels and Aden Lowe had in writing this story comes shining through in the humor that they put into, as well as the stubbornness of the two siblings, who are just trying to live their lives the way they know they can and also incorporate the fact that they do love and respect each other. I hope that these two fantastic authors start writing many more books together.

I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did, happy reading!

Ride it Out
By: Aden Lowe & Ashley Wheels
4/5 stars

Hound is relatively recently handicapped to his wheelchair ever since a drunk driver hit him on his motorcycle. As a brother in the Hell Raider MC, this has not been an easy transition for him. He feels like his usefulness to his club is limited to nothing physically related since he doesn’t have the use of his legs. He’s also kept to himself and doesn’t “make use” of the club girls, even when they offer. He thinks that that part of his life might be over. That is, until he sees a beauty on the beach, in her wheelchair.

Anne has been in a wheelchair for most of her entire life after she suffered a sickness as a baby & never fully developed the muscles necessary in her legs to support her. She’s also had to deal with overbearing family members her entire life who, give her no independence to live her life and treat her as though she couldn’t take care of herself. She’s fed up and wants to be able to be on her own. With the help of her brother, she goes to stay in their family beach house to try out independent living. She’s excited to be on her own and maybe a little nervous. But when she sees Hound, she’s attracted to him and wants to get to know him.

Hound & Anne start up a friendship which transitions into a relationship. Anne was completely innocent and Hound hadn’t wanted to be with anyone since his accident until he saw her. They do get to know each other & spend time together before a hurricane is headed their way and threatens their safety. That would be dangerous enough, but there are more complications for those confined to wheelchairs. But at least this will give them time to talk about club life and whether or not they will be able to go the distance.

I enjoyed this sweet romance, especially with the first-hand knowledge of life in a wheelchair and the challenges of everyday life that people with use of their legs don’t understand. One thing that would have helped was if the chairs had been described, because I had an idea in my mind and then a certain scene happened & I didn’t understand how it was physically possible until I thought of a different chair. Also, I don’t know if this novella is related to Aden Lowe’s Hell Raiders MC series or not, or if we’ll be seeing Hound & Anne in future books in that series or not. But I hope we do, because I really enjoyed them.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sweet and Romantic 2 November 2015
By A. Mayer - Published on Amazon.com

The story is told from dual points of view of Anne and Blake (Hound), both are confined to wheelchairs and both want to lead independent lives. After Blake's accident, he just wants to get away from it all, but then he meets Anne and things start to change. She gives him a spark and he begins to feel things again. Anne just wants to be normal and she wants to experience life and freedom away from her overprotective family. Once she meets Blake her desire for more is fueled by the feelings he awakens.

It was interesting to have the point of view from two characters who are bound to wheelchairs, but not defined by them. Their struggles with everyday activities made me think about all the things I take for granted. This was a quick sweet romantic read. I enjoyed this book, but gave it only 4 stars, because I wished the history of the characters was a little more developed. I just wanted more backstory for both of them. The story just seemed to go by so quickly. But other than that, it was a very good book with humor and romance
