Sizzling romance, lacklustre storyline

There was a lot to like here - the premise of the Bargainer, and collecting his debts. And the romance / attraction is undeniable. While there were a few editing errors there was nothing that completely jarred me out of this world.
I think what prevented me from rating this higher - was the lack of any real action - it didn't really get going until the 85% mark - prior to that we just read about our H & h dancing around one another - and visited the past a lot to find how they met and the bond they formed - which was important, but kind of boring and didn't need the pages and pages of flashbacks to get me to that point. A lot of things were built up only to be glossed over - Callie's alpha ex seemed to disappear from the scene all too quickly. The collection on Callie's debt never really took centre stage. And the whole sleeping warriors/blood sucking babies etc storyline was too often pushed into the background as our H & h kind of fake fought - since it clear from day one Callie was in love with him (and he her) this all felt a little useless and long winded. Still, the delivery was well done. The world building excellent. And the romance kind of sizzling
