Product Description

The real hero of this story is dead. You should have met him. He was a beautiful man. The love of my life. I didn’t deserve him.

Now what’s left are the jagged edges of the person I am without him, and what I have to do to get by. This isn’t even a story about love. Not really. It’s a twisted tale of revenge and hate—a happily never after.

The only man in my life now is the one I have to kill.
I’m Savvy Raine.
I used to be a wife.
I used to be a mother.
Now I am the Revenger.

Wow! Now that was a rush. Savvy is one amazing woman, thank you for creating her Debra. Twists, turns, drama, tension, action, intrigue, love, loyalty, betrayal, shadows, mystery, and so much more, this story has it all.

This is a different kind of story, but I loved it.

Now, there just has to be more about Silas and Jack, and also Boston ...... please Debra, say it is so.

Savvy was an average wife and mother until an accident changed her completely. The reader witnesses the aftermath and evolution from Savvy to The Revenger. I really got into it. I felt the pain and excitement. The author did an excellent job of making me empathize with everyone. Lines between good and bad become blurred. The plot is full of action, sweetness and sadness. There's never a dull moment.

I love that this author is able to change up and write different genres. Some label The Revenger as dark paranormal. I personally would not label this as dark. To me it seems like an old school superhero story, the kind where a hero is born from great suffering. If you like Marvel, DC and such, you should definitely check it out. If you're looking for something different, this is it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Revenger is an unusual story that is emotional and entertaining. I highly recommend this book. 24 February 2016

Looking for something different to read? The Revenger by Debra Anastasia is the perfect choice. It’s not the typical fictional story or a typical romance. In fact I would say it is not a romance novel at all. But it is a love story… a story about a mothers love. A mother’s greatest gift is nurturing, teaching, sacrificing, and loving unconditionally.

Without giving away spoilers, I will say that Savvy Raine is an extraordinary character. She is a hero, a villain,a teacher,a friend, and your worst enemy. Her motivating factor is her love for her family. She has lost her sense of self and is consumed by her need for vengeance. As the story unfolds Savvy Raine gives more than most people only hope to give.

The Revenger is an unusual story that is emotional and entertaining. I highly recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Revenger is a story about pain. And it’s also about love. 23 February 2016

I am constantly overwhelmed by the amount of talent Debra Anastasia has. I’ve yet to meet anyone who can craft a tale the way she can, drawing you in so that you believe the unbelievable—suspend your logical mind and just allow her words to wrap around you and make you witness to the story as if there should never be a doubt about their legitimacy.

The Revenger is her latest tale, and it opens with such pain—a woman who’s lost her husband and her daughter to an accident she feels she’s responsible for—I teared up from the image of her at their unmarked gravestone. For a year, Savvy’s been a ghost of a person, eating because that’s what you do, bathing for the same reason, but not living. Her brother Toby keeps an eye on her, making sure she doesn’t try to harm herself—again. But she’s got no purpose anymore.

A year after the accident, Savvy is just trying to find a way to end it all when suddenly she’s different. Her vision is clearer, she can hear more acutely, and her strength—where did it come from? She sees people differently, too. The bad guys are now crystal clear to Savvy. Is this her purpose? Was she spared from death to stop the criminals? The rage she feels is new and powerful, and it gives her a sense of purpose until she comes across the person truly responsible for the death of her husband and daughter. Is revenge why she’s still alive? Or is her purpose something deeper than revenge? Can she restrain these new instincts to kill and instead, show the killer her truth?

That’s about all I’m going say for now because I don’t want to spoil anything. However, this story takes you on so many twists and turns and ups and downs it should be a roller coaster. I honestly thought I had it all worked out a third of the way in, and let me tell you, I was wrong, wrong, wrong! And that made me so crazy happy! I love when an author can surprise me with plot twists and unexpected turns.

The Revenger is a story about pain. Pain and suffering and hoping like hell that it’s all worth it in the end. And it’s also about love—because, come on, it wouldn’t be a Debra Anastasia story without love in it. It’s not your normal kind of love, though. It’s learning about the different kinds of love. It’s learning how to love and how to accept that love can be real—can exist—and that it doesn’t make you weak but instead makes you strong.

Did it make me cry? Yup. A couple of times, actually, and the last time was simply from the way the author put her beautiful words together. But this book also gave me a sense of satisfaction… you’ll have to read for yourself to understand why.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nothing quite like it! 23 February 2016

I have come to expect two things from this author – ONE – that any story she writes will be unique and TWO – that she has such a way with words that she can make you love some very unsavory characters that you really should have no love for. With “The Revenger” she did not disappoint me. The story line is so unique, not your standard cookie cutter story that so many books are today. The story kept me on the edge of my seat; I could hardly read fast enough to see what was going to happen next. It will take you on a wild ride through every emotion possible and then back again. This story is so outside the box….give it a read – you won’t be sorry.

4.0 out of 5 stars Savvy & Silas & Boston 18 March 2016
By Julie H - Published on

MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS - Savvy is grief stricken & feels ultimately responsible for her quick thinking in a car accident, protecting herself but putting her husband & daughter in jeopardy. She can't live without them & decides to walk on the seedy side of town & let the chips fall where they may. This is where the book suddenly takes a fantastical turn - Savvy can see the good & bad in people & when they are surrounded by the red aura of evil she turns into a superhuman Ronda Rousey, a pint-size enforcer of evil in high heels. Silas is watching her closely, knowing the car accident & his involvement in it is responsible for Savvy's Hulk strength. When Savvy is near Silas she hears the screams of her daughter so I crossed him off the list of her romantic possibilities. His gunslinger Boston is charged with keeping a close eye on Savvy & he could be a romantic leading man, in another place & time. The book keeps you hanging but the story is only about the true love Savvy has for her family & how she desperately longs to be with them. Savvy has one mission in her life that could very possibly be ending at any moment - stop the bad people; keep the good people safe. I would have liked a more typical romance & yet the book is incredibly unique & I have to appreciate that & give the author props for staying true to her story. I also would have liked a HEA & I guess we get a touch of bittersweet happiness in that Savvy's mission is fulfilled to the best of her ability. I got a touch of emotion like I did in one of my favorite books, Bright Side. In this world if you can touch a person's life so deeply that they change for the better & choose to rise above themselves & be good people, that is what life is all about. And Savvy does that by helping Silas & Boston see their potentials through their love for her. Crazy story though!!

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a book that will stay with me for a long time. 6 March 2016

I feel woefully unqualified to write a review for this story. It takes a unique author to show you your worst nightmare and still give you hope. I almost didn't make it through the first chapter of this book. As a mother, it forced me to take an unflinching look at my biggest fear. Then it gave purpose beyond the fear.

I thought I knew where this story was going several times, and it did at least five 180's on me. I felt so connected to the characters--even characters I should have hated--that I read this book obsessively. I didn't want it to end. I flipped pages through tears. I read this every second I could spare, and then some.

This book really doesn't fit into any genre. It takes the best of all of them and creates something new. There's not a name for it, but it's something none of us ever knew we needed. This is a book that will stay with me for a long time.
