Extremely disappointed in this. Although it says it's designed for Aeropress it didn't fit properly (gaps at the sides) also the coffee drips straight through so doesn't brew at all.

Complete waste of money I've gone back to the paper filters

Fantastic product and arrived really fast! What a discovery !!!

These filters are so much superior to the paper ones.. I have been using the Aero-press for a couple of years now and have tried various filters. The beauty of this version is that you get 3 DIFFERENT stainless steel filters. Ultra-fine mesh, fine and coarse.. And each has a different effect on the outcome of the coffee. I prefer the least fine, although you do get some 'sludge' in the bottom of the cup. The flavor is richer, fuller and darker. The middle one is better for guests if they are not used to this brewing method, and the mesh .. well, I don't really use it, but it does a make a wonderful cup as well.

I've been drinking espresso exclusively for as long as I can remember and have a few good pump machines (semi-automatic/Italian made). However, the Aeropress is a little gem of a coffee maker. It makes such a wonderful brew that I am almost ready to discard my big pump machines (I am keeping them just for frothing milk for my wife.) The secret is that you can micro-control the water temperature, which is the most critical factor (82-84 deg C.) and brewing time to help 'shape' the final flavor palette. Now with these 3 different filters I can also modify the brew according to the bean/roast and other factors.

Better than paper

I wanted a mesh filter and, at nearly the same price as other lone mesh filters on amazon, I purchased this set of three so in case I didn't care for the mesh I could try the perforated types.

So far I have only tried the mesh, but I am very happy with it. I love my aeropress with the paper filters but when I used the mesh more oils were able to seep through the filter that the paper would have soaked up. It made an even tastier cup, which I did not think was possible.

(slight) CON: It also lets a minuscule amount of mud into the bottom of the cup. It only builds up after the coffee has sat a while, and it's a small amount. It's still nothing like a french press, where you have an actual mud pit at the bottom of the mug. It's ALMOST not even worth mentioning. But more mud than paper filters.

RECOMMENDED? Yes. I never have to buy filters again and I'm not just using a sheet of paper one time and then throwing it out day after day. AND I prefer the taste. I also think this particular product is nice because I have 3 options to choose from. I was bound to like one of these filters if I hadn't liked the mesh.

Edit: I tried the 'very fine' filter and the two times I used it, I couldnt tell a difference between the mesh and very fine. They both work well.

Easy to Clean, Inverted Brewing not Necessary

These filters are totally great! We bought some last year when we started running out of the paper filters that originally came with the aeropress.

After reading the reviews, I was concerned that we would have to start brewing using the inverted method (since a few people had said the metal filters didn't stop the flow like the paper filters did); I had tried the inverted method previously and was not a fan.

Super pleased with the filters. Very easy to clean if done promptly, otherwise we have to use our kitchen scrubber. Inverted method not necessary in my opinion.

We were some happy with their performance that we bought another 3-pack and sent it to my wife's brother who introduced us to the aeropress in the first place.

just got an Aeropress. Instantly made some great brews with it, but I'm a fan of getting some of the coffee oils in my brews because that's where a lot of the healthy properties of coffee are. (also flavors as oils = fat = flavor. I'm one of those people that will put a touch of MCT oil in my coffee). So I use a stainless filter in my chemex to get something between paper filter and a french press. this set of SS filters for the aeropress is the same thing. I use mostly the mesh one and have had excellent results. I love light roast, single origin beans and aim for that distinctive sweet, slightly acidity structure that is characteristic of this style of roasting. using the SS filters lets in a bit more oil and creates a touch more body to the brew. clean up is a breeze. I recommend this set highly if you like your coffee like I do.

I got this because I was running out of paper filters, not because it makes promises of a better cup. I also don't bother with the upside-down brewing after trying it once. So far I've only used the mesh filter and I have to admit I am pleasantly impressed with the coffee it produces - it appears smoother, a bit less acidic, more enjoyable. All of which may be selection bias - I didn't bother to do multiple double-blind taste tests. But I really like it (and the coffee) and would recommend it.
