I feel a little like I've come into this story partway through as I haven't managed to read the first book yet - it's on back order at the library. But coming in halfway through doesn't really affect the enjoyment. From the lovely dedication 'For the Unicorns. You know who you are' to the final words '...the world needs unicorns' this is a very special story. It's about embracing our differences and making the world a happy place for everyone.
Thelma's story starts with Thelma the horse seeing Missing Unicorn posters everywhere - people are missing the sparkly unicorn that she was. Thelma has gone into hiding after some people were mean to her in her unicorn costume but with the people all wanting her back she faces up to her fears and goes back into the world as her unicorn self.
It's funny. It's charming. It's a rhyming story. So much here to love.
Can't wait to read the first one.
