Product description

Product Description

War is coming between humans and Arvies, leaving me trapped between two enemies. This time, I don’t think I’ll survive.
The government will stop at nothing to get me back in their clutches. They want what’s inside me—a power I call Venge—and will use my greatest weakness to bring me to my knees.
The Arvies know of my gift, and use my telepathy and their numbers, in an effort to take me out.
My name is Abigail Park, and I promise retribution against those who’ve wronged me, even if it’s the last thing I do.

*voluntarily and honestly reviewed the ARC I received from Lady Amber's PR*

This was like a 4.5 for the conclusion of the Dystopian/Apo-theme thriller. I'm sad to see this series end after the exciting two days we had with each other but who doesn't like satisfying endings? Abi's been through hell and back as she's constantly pulled this way and that, being genetically enhanced, transported and forced back to the topside whether she wants it or not. She and Finn are together once again, but just like Fate would have it, Abi's forced once more to do something she doesn't whole-heartedly agree with. And it may be the last time anyone ever forces her to do a single thing again.

I don't really have anything bad to say about this, though I did have a lingering question about some characters, but I guess it wasn't really important. After the fifth book, I did finally see some of the repetitiveness in the writing, but it's what made it so easy to read in the first place, and that's not even including the writing style and the fast tone of the books. I enjoyed Abi's POV a lot. She was a young girl that goes through hardships and manages to keep a positive attitude (or is that survival?). At times I wondered if she was okay when she could giggle after having near heart attacks, but what do I know? Fear does strange things to people lol. I loved the supporting characters, particularly Keanu. A total sweetheart I was happy to see again (he was in the fourth book) and the bad guys totally made me want to throw something, so brownie points for that. The ending felt a little fast compared to the way everything else was paced but overall, it's a series I enjoyed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Riveting, Gripping, Page Turner! 25 March 2017

All I have to say is I couldn't put this down. Read in a matter of hours.
Characters in this story are well formed. From book 1 all the way through this amazing conclusion. The ending couldn't have ended better. Incredible way to wrap up this story. Well rounded with every detail u could want.
I have read so many apocalyptic stories and none of them come close to the reality of this one. For fiction this is the most realistic story yet.
Cameo takes you into a world of a young girl Abi Park. She is diverse, loving, helpful, and brings to life her story with her two inner most companions hell fire and venge! Plus who could live without Finn.
Diving in head first you fall in love with this character, along with all the others. From the first line in chapter one you are drawn in for a roller coaster of a ride. Love, war, friendships, enemies, and bonds that are formed that will last a lifetime. Emotions run high, lives are at stake, and Abi won't stop til everyone is safe.
I'm not into spoilers I will just say you must pick this up. Especially if you have read the others. If you haven't I recommend you do. It will make u laugh cry and even bring out some anger. This book has every thing!
Way to go Cameo u have done it again! Thank you for yet again another amazing book!
I also must say that if you love these books u should read her other work. This author is amazingly talented!

5.0 out of 5 stars Vengeance Powered By Pure Love 25 March 2017

Dang what a rush of emotions I've just endured thanks to the FINAL book in the After Light Saga. This series is thrilling and captivating, not just because of the crazed zombies at every turn, but because of the characters and the happiness they have amidst an apocalyptic world. So if you haven't read the first 4 books do so asap and then you'll love this ending.

Running from the government leaders while still trying to recover from her last usage of Venge, Abigail Park is the most sought after person in the world. Abi's enhanced power to destroy Arvies comes at the price of herself, leaving her on the verge of death. Lucky for Abi she has a handsome soulmate named Finn who will do anything he can to protect her. Abi and Finn find themselves constantly on the run as they still try to find their safe place. It's not until Abi is once again forced into a position where her family is threatened to make her unleash her power that Abi realizes Venge may be fueled by something greater than hate. The question is will she survive the toll it takes to use her gift to save those she holds dear?

Overall, great ending though really don't think I could get enough of Abigail Park! Seriously the girl can kill with her mind, shoot without missing and act like it's all nothing. Yeah I squeal at the sight of cockroaches. Finn is also my favorite hero because he's all about his girl and making sure she is well cared for, *sigh, I want a Finn. One of the most interesting parts of this novel for me was the different bunkers and survivor camps Abi and Finn visited. It helped show the world was healing and not as crappy or crazy as that horrid government bunker. Oh and the epilogue so cute love when authors give us that nice tidbit to leave us fans with happy feels. So if you've been an After Light Saga fan this book will take you on that last journey with Abi and I suggest keeping tissues nearby.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely epic finale! Mrs. Cameo Renae is just the best author I know! 30 March 2017

I bought and finished the preceding book, Hostile, two days before Retribution released and I just HAD to get this book when it released. Actually, I stayed up past 1 AM just to get it off the Amazon Store. I loved this book. It's my newest favorite in the After Light Saga pentalogy besides Hostile. Retribution is a very suspenseful, edge-of-your-seat, dramatic, charming and endearing title. The characters are well-written and realistic such as Abi, Finn, Keanu (my favorite character) and many more. The interactions and dialogue in this book are as interesting and intriguing as ever. Not only that, Mrs. Cameo Renae does the 1st Person POV style good justice. I personally think 1st Person POV is kind of complex to write, and not a very flexible POV style story-wise, and yet Mrs. Cameo Renae makes the style a delight to read and as iconic as it can be! The plot is really action-packed too. Every time I'd sit down to read Retribution, I'd end up reading at least four chapters or more in one sitting. Finished the book yesterday at 2 AM and it was so worth it. Mrs. Cameo Renae is my #1 favorite author hands down. I'm always looking forward to what she does next.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect ending...... 10 April 2017

Abi had saved the soldiers and got shot in the process. As she contemplated her death, she heard a voice that couldn't be. Finn had found her. He had tracked her down, and when he found the 600 dead Arvies, he knew he was on the right track. He nursed her back to health, just to find a mutant who bit her. Can this girl get a break??

Finn has a sort of motor bike and the headed off towards the paradise her grammy was at. They stopped at a place to rest and three survivors found them. The survivors told of a compound where they would be safe, and the all headed in that direction. The place was great, and for once, they could sleep without worry.

But nothing works for Abi. Dr. Simon contacted her via telepathy, wanting to know her whereabouts. She lied, which was good, but they found her any way. They grabbed Finn, and loaded her, Finn and Keanu, a soldier who stayed with them, into the chopper. She was going back.

The man in charge of the government compound was a general who had allowed power to go to his head. He didn't stand for anyone disobeying his directive, and punishment could be death. So.....what does he do to Finn?? You want to read to find out. And Keanu was shot. Does he survive??

What about Abi? If she overused her power, she can die.
This was too good to categorize.

Read on my friends.
4.0 out of 5 stars Well Done Conclusion to an Excellent Series 29 March 2017

I have waited anxiously for the final book of The After Light Saga. It is the series that introduced me to the dystopian genre. I so appreciate the strong heroine that Renae imagined Abi to be. I am also very happy that Renae added such vulnerability to Abi. Without it, she and Finn could not achieve such a symbiotic relationship.

This final book in the series is really good. Renae makes an effort to show the way forward for the human race, and she incorporates such imagination and drama leading up to the conclusion. There are a couple of ideas that I felt were a tiny bit unneeded, but the book as a whole flows well.

Renae fulfills my need to know the resolutions for some of my favorite characters from previous books, but leaves me wondering about a couple of others who were foreshadowed to cross paths with Abi and Finn once again.

Overall, I am well satisfied with the conclusion to this fascinating story. 4 stars
