Saturated in a mystic era of enchantment, this is a story regarding warfare, conspiracy and love. The sorceress Athena’s has summoned strategies to revive her dark Lord, and the wizards of Canistar are up-to-date on her deceitful plans. An endless clash amongst virtues and malice will transpire as the wicked Nobles try to devastate the kingdom, while the wizards and their military discover they are not as strong an army. Christopher must plan carefully or the evil Lords may overcome the realm? An ongoing conflict among the upright and malicious is laced in the plot of this well written narrative. From the first sentence I was drawn into the story. Author Sharon Gibbs is a fantastic story teller and her writing flows effortlessly. The cover and interior artwork are beautiful as well! This is book 2 is a series. I recommend you start with book 1 “Bound to Survive” where the exciting adventures of Christopher and company begins.

A good read for teens and adults
It took me a few chapters to get into the story & catching up with the characters. This could be because I've read a quite a few other books since Bound to Survive. A good tale with magic, wizards, witches, heroes & villains.

5.0 out of 5 stars More exciting work from Ms Gibbs! 2 April 2016
By Sheila Kell - Published on Amazon.com

I was lucky enough to be gifted an early copy of Resurrection of an Empire by Sharon Gibbs, and all I can say is 'Oh My God, it was excellent!'

Intriguing...Vibrant...Worth every second

Ms. Gibbs drew me immediately into a suspenseful battle of good versus evil where magic attempts to reign in a realm that evil's grasp had grown stronger. My own pulse was speeding as I waited to see what happened to our hero as things were not as I expected them to be unfolding. Without time to read at night, I woke at 2 and 3 am in the mornings to finish the story. I had to know how Lord Zute and the bitch Athena were conquered. If they were.

Per her style, the author's true story telling gift presented us with a sequel to Bound to Survive that built upon the vivid, fantasy world and complex characters that we fell in love with in the beginning. As the characters continued to grow and deal with what was happening around them, the emotions she invoked in this reader was nothing less than I expected. She creates a world I was drawn into and felt a part of as the story evolved around me. I am excited there will be be a third story.

I highly recommend reading Bound To Survive prior to this book for the best reading pleasure. The story jumps right in and knowing the characters will help entrench you faster. You won't regret it.

This series is a must read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sharon Gibbs knows how to bring out suspenseful tales to keep you on the edge of your seat! 5 April 2016
By christine - Published on Amazon.com

I loved Sharon Gibbs first novel, Bound to Survive, and the follow up was even more suspenseful. I loved the character development in this well-written story. Surprisingly, my favorite character to read about was the villain, Athena. Her scenes really drew me in and I actually loved reading about her. Although evil, she wasn't pure evil and you saw a inner soft side to her as well, but not for long - before you could start to feel sorry for her, her evil nature burst through and again had you trembling as you read.
The development of characters, scenes, and the story line was so believable, at times I felt like this took place in the past somewhere. I was surprised that there would be a third novel to follow, and I'm even more excited now to read how all of this ends. Each book ends with a complete resolution of the book's story, but then always leaves you begging for more as you read the epilogue. Sharon Gibbs knows how to bring out suspenseful tales to keep you on the edge of your seat!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good followup to the first of this series 9 April 2016

I received an advanced copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

This book follows well from the first book of the series. It does have time-stamps when the book jumps in time (something missing in the edition of "Bound to Survive" that I read). That makes the book much easier to follow -- far less confusion.

The same characters are continuing the battle from the previous book.

I make one recommendation for this book -- add a "The Story Thus Far" prologue to it. If you haven't JUST read the previous book, it takes a few minutes to remember who is who and what is the relationship. A list of characters as some series have would be nice too, even if the characters are just mentioned and not actually in this book (but were in the previous one).

Still -- it's a good paced book with very interesting characters -- A definite Keeper!
