the Lance Gillet my wife said it was too large so measured it and we found it nearer to 50 inches.
I sent this back and got a refund but nothing towards the £4-40 Postage I paid.
Be Warned Expect the size to always be much larger than given in the guidance.
I use the two Gilets as driving jackets, weekend casual wear or as leisure & activity wear.
I found the price of £20 was about £5 more than I would have liked, but then again I can live with it as it is quite smartly tailored versatile wear. I am amazed that the designer has managed to fit eleven (yes eleven) pockets of various shapes and sizes to choose from! (Of course you don't use them all at the same time as you would look like the fat Michelin Tyre Man). The full length front with zip or press studs overlaps in a "storm collar" style for windy / chilly conditions and on a warm day I only use the press studs instead to keep cool.
It is really hard to fault this product, but an improvement I can suggest is having a bit of elastic sewn-in or a drawstring on the waist area from the inside of this comfortably loose Gilet, if occasionally one fancied a snug fit.
I can wholeheartedly recommend this body warmer as a five star item without any hesitation. Definitely a "must buy"
There's a "hidden" pocket in the left hand side but it seems kind of unfinished, there's no lining and it just provides access to the inside filling. I'm not sure quite why that is but it seems like it is incomplete.
Other than that, it's good, warm enough and comfy and I would think moderately waterproof in short bursts
The pockets are ample for what I carry around, and I like the double entry side pockets. The quality is good and the stitching seems well done and robust.
Unfortunately I had to send this one back as the XL was too big for me, very generous size, so be careful when ordering. So I placed an order for the Large size, which arrived 2 days ago and I have to say this one fitted perfect and I’m really happy with it.
The only downside for me would be the length of the Gilet on the front was a couple of inches too short, the back was okay as that was longer than the front, but that was the only gripe for me. It’s lovely and warm when it’s zipped up, which is what I purchased it for. Overall I give it a thumbs up.
The material, stitching and closures feel much more rugged than I was expecting. I am quite pleased.
On each side there is a pocket with a velcro closure and a zippered pocket, plus a handwarmer pocket. On the right chest there is an external vertical zippered pocket, an external velcro pocket that looks like it was for a Nokia 3310 phone but is a bit too small for modern smartphones, and an internal pocket with a velcro closure.
On the left chest there is a long vertical zipper on the inside for access to the lining, with a little label "Decorator's access". I imagine this is so that a company logo patch can be sewn on without needing to unpick the lining.
The laundry tag says it can be machine washed but not tumble dried. This is a bit disappointing as other gilets seem to have no problem with a tumble drier.
Company still hasn't responded over 2 weeks later.
Don't bother it falls apart.
