Product Description

“Your life can change in an instant”~ Madden
I never thought a night out could change everything. All I wanted was to dance, drink, maybe take a cute guy home for a night of fun. I met the guy, but the night ended as a nightmare. Screams, and blood, and tragedy haunt my dreams. I'm alive and I owe it all to the gorgeous marine who refused to leave me for dead. But how can I start a new relationship when I'm not even sure who I am anymore?

“I'll always save you” ~Thane
After a long work week all I wanted was to let my hair down and to meet a nice guy. When I laid eyes on the gorgeous, tattooed man at the bar, I had to have him. I never would have thought the night could end in such horror. I saved his life, and I swear I'll save him as many times as I have to. Even if it means saving him from himself.

**This is the first book in the Heathens Ink series in which every book can be read as a stand alone.

CAUTION: this book is recommended for readers 18+ and does contain one scene of graphic violence that may disturb some readers. And, in case it wasn't clear from the description, this is an M/M romance, man parts will be touching.

This was a great start to a series by a fairly new-to-me author.

This book was a journey for Madden. A tattooist who, on the night he meets ex-marine/firefighter Thane, is shot three times in a nightclub shooting.

Now, putting aside the awesome character names, right from the start we see the great chemistry these two have. It's not just a hookup. They talk and hit it off until the nightmare in the club puts a halt to everything.

This was a much more emotional read than I expected (although, thankfully, it never fell into the full blown devastation of Amy Lane territory.) I really felt for Madden. At 23 he's already gone through homelessness and a drug addiction but the aftermath of the club rocks his world. And Thane is a good guy who met someone special, and throughout the book is just trying to get them back to that place.

I would say this is a bit of a roller coaster, but it's not a scary one. Like I said, it's a journey. Sometimes Madden comes across as incredibly young but considering his history I rolled with it.

I really liked this, and the epilogue has a sweet HEA.

I love it when I accidentally find a wonderful new author and K.M Neuhold is a wonderful author to stumble across. I just know I am going to absolutely love the Heathens Ink series if the first book is anything to go by. In this story we meet Madden a tattoo artist who believes himself to be less than he is, and Thane, a gay ex marine firefighter still in the closet. The chemistry between these two is off the charts and their story so well written. The supporting characters are so well written into this story, that the author makes you want to know their story too. I honestly didn't want Madden and Thane's story to end but I'm sooooo excited for Royals book. Now I'm going to find more K.M books to read
