Product Description

Drummer Nate Campbell is a 'Ruby Riot twin' - and that's all he wants anybody to know. For Nate, girls are a dispensable distraction and the rock star life suits his needs. Nobody will expect him to hand over his heart if he pretends he doesn't have a one.

Falling for Nate Campbell was the second biggest mistake of Riley Sawyer's life. Two years ago the PR girl worked with the band on a European tour, where she earned a reputation as an unapproachable workaholic. One mistake with Nate ruined her reputation, and Riley left vowing never to go anywhere near a tour - or Nate - again.

Two years later, Riley is forced back into the Ruby Riot world. A stolen car, a snowstorm, and Nate's bloody-mindedness leave the pair stranded together. Nate and Riley cross their thin line between love and hate and discover a connection they don't want to leave behind when the snow retreats.

Nate knows Riley's the girl for him but doesn't want to risk handing her the heart he hides. Riley wants to leave behind her secrets to move on and find love. The problem is, she wants Nate and doesn't think he can ever be hers - or anybody's.

Reprise is the third STANDALONE book in the Ruby Riot rock romance series but the series is best read in order of publication

Cadence (Ruby Riot #1) ~ Jax & Tegan
Shuffle (Ruby Riot #2) ~ Will and Fleur
Reprise (Ruby Riot #3) ~ Nate & Riley

Well the most anticipated of the series was not a let down you will cry along with the characters when Nate the most notorious Ruby Riot Twin finds his groove with Smiley Riley when they find themselves stranded in small village for 3 days. As usual you will laugh and you will cry. I thought ni this was my favourite from the Ruby Riot series.

A single working mother and a rock star who's doing his best to personify the cliché...they couldn't be further apart. And yet, they click.

Riley and Nate's is one of the most awkward love stories I've ever read, with moments of perfection that make all the difficulties fade into the background. Ms Swallow has written these difficult characters to life so well it's hard to see either of them capitulating to the other, and there's the challenge in their relationship. They're both strong-willed characters who won't back down or lie to each other...even if they are lying to themselves. I wasn't sure how they'd ever get together...and I won't spoil the story for you by telling you how it happens.

Yes, this is an unusual romance, but definitely a bloody good one. Five stars.

Love this story! The author has taken two complex, damaged characters and shown how they turn things around. Riley is very relatable and although she and Nate are an odd match, you totally get why they are so mutually attracted. It's really cool to see the development of the other characters in the series as well, including Tegan and Jax, and Will and Fleur. Bit of a twist at the end that surprised me and a beautifully satisfying ending. Lots of sparks, very sexy, great story! Can't wait for what's next from the author, one of my favourites. 5 big fat stars!

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 Stars for This amazing book!!! 27 April 2016
By litljen - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
Reprise is the 3rd book in the Ruby Riot Series and one that I was eagerly anticipating. In all of the other books, Nate Campbell has been the epitome of a rock star----always partying with a different girl on his arm every night. He's a selfish, broody, immature man-child who thinks he's the king of the world and everyone should fall at his feet. Riley Sawyer is an intensely private, buttoned-up PR guru who has worked hard to establish a professional reputation for herself and won't let anyone bring her down. She has a tough-as-nails approach and she doesn't take any bull from anyone. Riley and Nate have a history that nobody really knows about and their mutual "hate" towards each other has them avoiding each other at all costs for 2 years. When they are forced to work together again, their volatile relationship comes to the forefront. Riley and Nate both have secrets that nobody else knows and they fight hard to keep those secrets hidden from everyone. When they get stranded in a snowstorm, fireworks explode between them. No matter how much they try to stay away, they cannot since they both harbor feelings for each other that they have buried deep down. When they are finally able to leave the private bubble of the pub they were stranded in and are forced to return to real life, will their new found "relationship" be able to survive? Will they both be able to hold onto their hearts as they continue to spend time together? How long will Riley be able to keep her secret and when he finds out, will Nate run far away?

What I love about Reprise is that Lisa Swallow gives us answers----what exactly happened in the past between Nate and Riley and why is Nate the way that he is? The latter is a doozy that I never saw coming! For all outward appearances, Nate has an inner armor that never allows anyone to get close to him. But we finally see a more tender side to Nate. One that makes him human, exposing all of his faults and fears. His history explained, the reader can now understand what makes him tick. Going into the book, I was not a Nate fan but by the end, I grew to love him and rooted for him to finally find the happiness and love he truly craves.

Written from a dual POV, Reprise is a fun, sexy and emotional read that you won't be able to put down. It will take you on a roller coaster of emotions as the story progresses. In the end, it will leave you satisfied and with a bit of a book hangover as you try to move on from the epicness that is Nate and Riley.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best book in the series =] 9 May 2016
By Jennifer - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
Reprise is the third book in the Ruby Riot series written by Lisa Swallow. While this book can be read as a standalone, I feel it is best to read the series in order to really get the whole Ruby Riot experience. Lisa Swallow is an amazing writer and does a spectacular job in intertwining each book with each other. The characters are unique with real life issues while the plot is fresh and realistic as well. With that being said, Reprise is my favorite in the series.
Reprise follows Nate, one of the Ruby Riot twins. Will is described in the other two books and his description is not very nice. He is arrogant and selfish. He seems to have a cold heart and does not think of consequences. This book does not start off any different. He is still all of those things, but since this book is told from dual point of view, we get to see his thoughts behind his actions. This adds a layer of depth to him that readers of the series were starving to read. The other half of this dual point of view is Riley. Riley works in public relations and helps with Ruby Riots stuff. We first meet her in the first book of the series, Cadence. In Cadence she is on tour with Ruby Riot which leads to many scenes with Nate, some of which are really important to Reprises background. This is another reason I would suggest readers start with the first book.
So back to Reprise. Reprise is set two years after Cadence. Riley reluctantly joins Ruby Riot on their last stops on tour due to a public relations situation. She vows to try her best to be professional and avoid Nate as much as possible. Enter Nate. Nate is still as arrogant as ever, but he has his own demons to fight. He has been keeping secrets for so long that they threaten to consume him. When a situation arises that leads to Nate and Riley taking a long car ride together, nothing could ever go wrong, right?
These two characters are the most developed characters in the Ruby Riot series in my opinion. I think that they have the most baggage between the two of them, which is what draws them together. While Nate is holding his secrets close, Riley has secrets of her own. My favorite scene in this whole book is when Nate finally reveals his secrets. There is such a raw, vulnerable feeling to it that brings the readers in and allows them to feel the emotions alongside the characters. This is a great example of Lisa’s amazing writer.
There is plenty of heat in this book as well. Lisa has never been one to deny her readers any heat or passion. Lisa does an remarkable job with building up the characters attraction and feelings towards one another. While she does this, she allows bits and pieces to manifest in physical displays of affection. While the characters would like us to believe this is just physical, us as readers are able to see through and noticed that this is an emotional connection as well, even if the characters are in denial to themselves. These two characters have such chemistry that it leads the readers to question when they will combust.
In conclusion, Lisa Swallow is one of the greatest authors that I have read. She has such a dynamic way of writing characters that are unique, yet relatable to readers. Reprise is an astonishing example of how she is able to take real life issues and translate them into characters with unique personalities. The seriousness of the issues discussed is also a commendable attribute of the book and of Lisa as a writer. I look forward to reader more from her in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Reprising past interactions, is a repeat of feelings still very much in the present. 5 intense stars!!! 3 May 2016

Reading about Ruby Riot and her rockers NEVER gets old. OMG I can NEVER get enough of Lisa Swallow’s books, and I could rave all day until someone tells me to shut the hell up and go away. REPRISE is an amazing read. Lisa has a short chapter out in the never never, where Riley and Nate first meet in a bar, and there’s an attraction there, even if nothing comes it. These two, one would think, have a promising start. Apparently, not so.
In ‘Reprise’, intensely private PR girl Riley, ends up later going on tour with Ruby Riot and again meets Nate who has now embraced the perks of a rock star lifestyle. She has her own reasons for not engaging with the bands she PR’s for, on a ‘personal’ level, and even though they develop a burgeoning friendship and Nate shares a few of his own private demons, Riley turns down his very tempting proposition in a night club bathroom. Word to the contrary gets out, however, along with word that Nate was seen not one hour later, around the lips of another girl. Things obviously go south rather fast, and Riley’s reputation is slashed. She leaves the tour and a bitter hatred of Nate behind her.
Two years later, Riley is forced to once again work with Ruby Riot. Five minutes in, Nate is sexually harassing Riley, and she hisses, “Get your hands off me, you D1ckhead.” I was sooo cringing for Nate, because in his broken-ness I can’t understand why he thinks that behaviour is okay, even if he thought he really hated her but still desired her. For the life of me, I couldn’t imagine how Lisa was going to rescue their relationship.
Riley segregates her home and work life with sharp precision, learning lessons from her past history, and Nate is anti-relationships due to the cruel treatment of a previous girlfriend. I found Riley to be a strong young woman although perhaps a little rigorous in maintaining her private life, where Nate was a presented as a complete pratt. In this dual POV story, however, he admits the intensity of his continued attraction to Riley was beyond even his own understanding, considering how he had exposed some of his personal demons to her in the past, and felt she had dismissed him as inconsequential.
At the heart of this book is a stolen car, a snow storm, and the stranding of this acrimonious pair in a small pub cum guest house. They can’t deny the intense attraction, nor can they deny their public history. Also, there is the psychological fact that no two people interpret a common event in the same manner, especially when copious alcohol and subsequent memory loss is involved, and even though they don’t go easy on each other, misunderstandings are ironed out ... to a point. At the end of the day, Riley has a secret and it’s the mirror image of Nate’s private heartbreak, something even his twin, Will doesn’t know anything about.
“I was with a girl who I finally recognised. We found our mirror image. Twice. And twice we shattered the glass leaving an ugly, distorted picture of who we are to each other.” - Nate Campbell.
These are the saddest words I’ve read in a long time. They are also deep and intense, and this is exactly what book three of the Ruby Riot series is – deep and intense. I couldn’t relax or put this book down until I knew the story between Nate and Riley and it’s outcome.
Can they reprise the intense feelings of the past??
ARC received in exchange for honest review. And I can honestly say that Lisa Swallow’s books have been an automatic one-click must-have for me, and would recommend them to anyone who loves rockers, hard men and sexy-tattooed man-whores who turn into self-proclaimed pussies when they meet their perfect match.

************************ARC given for an honest review********************************

Honestly the best Ruby Riot book of the series.
Nate and Riley have either been avoiding each other or cutting each other down since a night two years ago when things between them turned from heated to hated. Their animosity is legendary but little does everyone around them know that they actually were friends first. Having met before Riley became part of their PR team.
After two years of avoiding all things Ruby Riot, Riley finds herself having to step in on their last two tour dates. She is none to happy to be around Nate again, or to leave her son. A son that no one knows about. Just when Riley thinks she is once again free of being around Nate, things go from bad to worse when her car is stolen and she is forced to ride home with Nate.
Nate isn’t going to make this easy on Riley. He is still pissed over her behavior two years ago and his perceived abandonment by her. He doesn’t understand what gives her the right to hate him the way she does. He sets out to make the ride home uncomfortable for her but winds up screwing them both over when his plan ends up with them stranded in a snow storm. Days spent together without much distraction leads to the hate cooling and the attraction ramping back up between them. I like how Riley handled his obnoxious behavior, especially the challenge she throws down after over hearing his bet with Will.
After they are freed of their snow seclusion they decide they will continue to see each other with a firm date of expiration. Though they promise themselves that feelings will not come into play it is obvious that they are already there. And just when they decide to try for a real relationship, secrets and past hurts come out and tear them apart.
I really wanted to smack Nate around a few times. Yes he was hurt in his past, his ex did him a real wrong, but he used that to be a real sh**head. I wasn’t impressed with his wishy washy back and forth playing of emotions.
Riley, I honestly really liked her. She was just trying to protect her own. She had a valid reason for keeping her son a secret, fear of discrimination that many women today will attest to. She wasn’t trying to trick anyone and she did try time and again to tell Nate the proper way.
The ending was an HFN with a lean toward an HEA though I did appreciate that it wasn’t an instant fall into trust and happy singing birds for either of them.
Down the road I would love to see an update on all the Ruby Riot clan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Nate and Riley!! 28 April 2016

I absolutely loved this book!!! I loved all of this series but I think i enjoyed this one the most. Two people wanting to hide their past hurts but can't from each other. Nate and Riley are explosive and Mrs. Swallow really captures the heart of these two characters. If you are a fan of Samantha Towel and The Mighty Storm series you will fall in love with Blue Phoenix and Ruby Riot series. I gave this 5 stars because I really like the writing style of this author and I love hot, tattooed, pierced bad boys that have a heart of gold even when they try to hide it. Thanks for a great read'
