I absolutely loved Contrite, while this is good it didn't leave me with the same impact as Bk 1. There was still drama of course, not knowing what would happen but to me this was more about healing after the angst.
Not knowing who was/wasn't alive & OMG Tina was a first class 'b' for a mother. Even with all the things he did I warmed up to Trent. Some people may not. It's just the hand that you're dealt.
It's a story that leaves you thinking with a few twists & turns. I just didn't feel as blown away as I was with the first book. But it's still really good!

From the first page I was pulled back in where book one Contrite had left off, my jaw still hanging wide open. This story takes you on a roller coasters ride of emotions, anger, hate, tears, heart ache, love and happiness.
I loved Clove and Turner. Their strong pure love for each other and what they were willing to do to help each other to set them free.
Fantastic read and would recommend to read the set.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed - too improbable and everything including the kitchen sink - SPOILERS in review 6 July 2015
By Justirishgirl - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
I was hoping that I would enjoy this book like I did the first book but that did not happen.

Too many things happened in this story. Some were too improbable or did not make much sense, including character's behavior which deviated too much from the first story. After what happened with Turner at the end of the 1st story what supposedly happened to him next was farfetched - basically he was saved. Also things that happened to Clove were improbable as well including being kidnapping, being resurrected like Turner and her pregnancy. Then there was Clove's evil mothers appearance, arrangement of the kidnapping and supposed motive for the kidnapping. Trent's behavior in this story was not in keeping with how his character was presented in the first and he was a big letdown. Trent claims that he loves Clove and has loved her prior to impersonating his brother and her husband Turner. However after Clove is kidnapped he makes no attempt to save her by helping her escape when had could even though he knows that there is a good chance that she will be killed by her evil mother. Somehow her evil mother, who arranged her kidnapping, is stopping him. Her mother is not physically strong woman and he is supposedly is a strong man. Evil mother has no special weapons and he can leave the house anytime he wants. Nothing was preventing him including evil mother, who is not always around. Any incentive for him to not save her, such as the supposed money, he knows does not exist. Also it was disappointing that unlike the first book, there were no hot sex scenes. Here they were mainly flashback ones between Turner and Clove. While it is forbidden and I felt bad for Turner, in the prior book the ones between Trent and Clove were hot. They did not get together in this book. Rather, Trent had sex with Clove's mother that kinda grossed me out. Trent stating that he could only get it up when he thought of Clove did not help or make it better. I am sorry that I bought and read this second book. I will not be reading a 3rd if it comes out as I am finished reading about these characters and their story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Capitvating 24 June 2015
By Bunnymyers - Published on

When I finished Contrite I was left shaking my head thinking WOW I didn't expect that. Waiting for Book 2, Reprisal I wasn't sure what to expect but Kathy has outdone herself with Reprisal. Chloe finds herself pregnant after being drugged for over 9 months and who's behind it you'll never expect. Yes of course if you read Book 1 you know that somehow Trent is involved but the other key players are the ones that you least expect. There are so many twists to this book that I was on edge waiting for the next shoe to drop and surprise me with an outcome I never expected. I'd love to give you more but I don't want to spoil the surprises.

The ending I never expected but loved it more than anything and folks you are not going to believe it or even predict it. Best suspense/romance I've read in quite some time. This is a MUST READ for anyone who enjoys being kept in suspense while being wrapped up in knowing that there is a true romance still in the story line.

5.0 out of 5 stars MUST READ LIKE NOW 24 June 2015
By Book Club Gone Wrong - Published on

What, the WHAT? That was said some many times in my head during this amazing twisted series!

This is the second book in the series. The 1st book left me with the worst book hang over of my life and this was defanitly did the same. Author Kathy Coopmans took me on a roller coaster of emotions.

This review will have zero spoilers so I am going to leave you with reasons you should read this book and this series.

I have never read another story like it.

It's mind blowing excitement and drama

Sexy hott and seamy

So much more then just sexy hott and steamy

I was on the edge of my seat gripping my kindle for dear life.

And last but not least the reason you should one click this series. Even after all the drama heartache and crazyness Kathy will put your heart back togeather and leave you in happy tears. Then make you giggle though them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kathy Coopmans knows how to tell a story 24 June 2015
By Renee Dyer - Published on

Contrite left me shaking, screaming, wondering WTF just happened? But now I have all the answers and all I can say is Kathy Coopmans knows how to tell a story. One minute I was ready to murder someone. Then I wanted to comfort the characters. My emotions were all over the place--one minute laughing, another crying. The dark undertones in this book reminiscent of Contrite and the person behind it all will leave you with a bad taste in your mouth. Not because of the writing, but because of the who. The twists and turns will keep you turning, page after page, this book daring you to put it down. Reprisal is a perfect ending to the series. If you like a book that keeps you guessing, sitting at the edge of your seat, clutching your kindle, book, whatever you read--this is the book for you. Beyond easy for me to rate this one a 5 star!

5.0 out of 5 stars Kathy Coopmans will take you through the wringer with all your emotions... 24 June 2015
By Kellierm77 - Published on

This author is crazy! Yes, I said it. She is. Kathy Coopmans will take you through the wringer with all your emotions. One page you're happy, next you're sad, then you're angry and after that biting your nails wondering if your suspicions about the way the story will go are correct. She will take your heart right out of your throat and run it through her paper shredder, the evil woman that she is. I will never read another book of hers again.....except I will. And you will too. You will have to. Because she will MAKE you need to. I thought Contrite put me through hell, but it was nothing like reading Reprisal. All I can tell you is to read it because if I tell you any of the story at all it gives away key points so I can't and I won't. Read Contrite, suppress the urge to send threatening letters to Kathy Coopmans and then jump on over to Reprisal. It is a crazy ride, but well worth the read.
