4.0 out of 5 stars Warlock Repo Man and the Matchmaker - an original pairing in the light weight magical paranormal 14 March 2014

Repossessed (Warlock Repo Man Chronicles)was a nice lite-weight paranormal romance by Coveted author Shawntelle Madison. I thought SEAL/warlock/repo-man hero and a witch/matchmaker heroine pairing was original and I liked that his magic followed his Korean heritage. The story is pretty much composed of a bunch of little missions and it takes time for the grumpy and taciturn hero to warm up to his heroine (who is going through a real spate of bad luck.) There is a nice touch of smexy stuff and even though wrap-up of all the conflict for both the heroine 's business woes and for her relationship problems with the hero are a bit abrupt but I still enjoyed the story.

Repossessed is supposedly book one, but I have no idea where Madison plans on taking this next.

I like Shawntelle Madison's work and this was no exception. She spins a good fun tale here, a good blend of romance and plenty of story with a bit of cloak and dagger.

The characters are all likable with the uber sexy male interest holding up to expectations.

Definitely waiting for the next in this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous and fun 22 January 2014

Amazing book by this very talented author who seems to specialise in urban fantasy. Set in a world of witches, warlocks and wizards and even the odd troll ! This is a fast paced read with lots going on and features a smart heroine and a quietly confident hero, sigh!
The story opens with Tessa a water witch who runs a matchmaking service for Supernaturals looking for love . Oh yes and it's strictly legit because if you want a call girl then you've definitely come to the wrong place! She struggling financially and just needs to keep the council member sweet so that he will recommend her . Then everything goes wrong when her car is repossessed and with it the magical scroll she uses to contact her more obscure clients.
Rob is a warlock and navy seal but he's home temporarily trying to help his relatives who might lose their home. He's acting as a "repo man" which puts him in all kinds of crazy situations and meeting the meddlesome Tessa whilst repossessing her car seems to start a whole world of hurt. Tessa's car is in Limbo but getting it back is worse than any nightmare and could be dangerous. Tessa won't stop dogging his footsteps and soon she's convinced his boss to let her help Rob in order to get into Limbo and find her missing scroll.
Problem is Rob can open Limbo in order to deposit things there but reclaiming them is so not that easy and when an angry and very powerful warlock takes exception to Robs work it looks as if all hell is about to break loose. Tessa is an infuriating and troublesome woman but Robs determined to protect her but this witch is no shrinking violet and is with him until the end!
Such a fabulous and fun read. Well done Ms Maddison on literally grabbing this readers attention. Great writing and an engaging storyline. A perfect example of urban fantasy with a dash of romance. Recommended

5.0 out of 5 stars You are not stealing what I freely give you 18 January 2014
By Mary Gramlich - Published on
Tessa Dandridge has been trying to live out the dream her grandmother created with a matchmaking business created from a belief that true love does exists for every species. Using some of her water witch skills she makes every attempt to create a love match regardless of the nature of the beast, so to speak. Her clients are part of a world where werewolves, warlocks, and witches exist not peacefully but a negotiated co-existence and while they are demanding they also pay very well to find the perfect match.

When Tessa has her car relocated to the least desirable place known as Limbo the panic she feels goes beyond a lack of transportation. Tessa had stored in the back of her car the one piece of material she needs to keep her business functional, the scroll. Tessa cuts a deal that has her gaining assistance from Rob Shin a repo man part time and Navy SEAL full time. Rob will take her on some repossession ride along so that when he opens a portal to Limbo Tessa can do a quick recon to retrieve her scroll. Problem is she is more than inexperienced she is a logistical nightmare when it comes to following orders and staying out of trouble. She cannot tap into her powers to make things fall into place and she is just too smoking hot for him to ignore. Rob came home on leave to heal a wound, help out his family, and earn some extra quick cash not fall in love with a woman that has him not only daring to go to Limbo but would follow her to any part of the universe.

The magic between Rob and Tessa jumps right off the pages and Shawntelle Madison has crafted a story that has every reader finding one more minute to finish this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars First Madison Book, Won't be the Last! 27 February 2014
By Kinsey Corwin - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
This book was my first introduction to Shawntelle Madison's writing and the world's she can create. I was surprised by how quickly I was able to immerse myself into the story.

On top of creating this wonderful urban fantasy/paranormal world, Madison created some really good characters. It seemed like they had a common issue they were trying to overcome, the similarity stopped there. The financial issues they were both dealing with stemmed from different circumstances and held different stakes. But that was not the only issues they had to overcome.

Tessa's character is a matchmaker in trouble and she is at risk of losing her business. There are several reasons peppered throughout the story and this could've made her a very dependent heroine. Madison did not disappoint by making Tessa strong enough to do what is necessary to save her business, get her hands dirty, and her determination is endearing.

Rob has his own inner battles that his is fighting and it was quite interesting to see the way his issues were revealed. He's trying to do the honorable thing and take care of his family. And the last thing he needed, was a woman like Tessa and the attraction he felt toward her derailing his plans.

The dating tips at the beginning of each chapter were clever and added humor into the story. The characters had witty lines. Even from the no-name characters like one who proclaimed in one very memorable scene:

"Not the best place to make out, people."

I do wish the attraction and romance between these two was built up a little bit more. While their chemistry was good, it felt a little rushed. That was my only complaint about the story and honestly, it didn't hinder my devouring this book in a single sitting. Overall, I found the book to be an excellent read and will definitely be checking out more books from Shawntelle Madison in the future.
