A couple of years ago I replaced my 18v DeWalt drill/driver with a new 20 V drill, driver, charger, two batteries and a case for less than what it would have cost to replace the two original 18v batteries. There was nothing wrong with the 18v drill and it worked very well. I just couldn’t see paying all that money for older technology. After purchasing a vacation home that needs repairs and updating, I found it necessary to put together a second set of tools rather than haul tools to and from the site every trip. That’s when I decided to look into replacement batteries for the 18v.

I found these on Amazon and decided to purchase them. You couldn’t beat the price. They were delivered promptly and fiit the drill and the charger perfectly. Fully charged both batteries in a few hours. I didn’t stand there and watch them charge so I’m not sure how long each took. They work like a charm and solved my tool transport problem. I would highly recommend these batteries if you need to replace your original DeWalt batteries.

I was stuck half way when my DeWalt batteries died.i used my new batteries yesterday and today just to put cement board around shower and tile. The charge holds longer.

Works Like Original Battery Pack

Battery pack arrived with a partial charge, full charge in less than 20 minutes. Had no problem attaching pack to drill and removing from drill, fits well and seemed to power the drill as well as the original pack. Had no problem inserting pack into charger or removing from charger, fit well there too. They just arrived today so I can't speak for how long they will last, hopefully I'll get at least a year, they come with a one year warranty. Certainly the price is right: two packs for about half the price of one new, Dewalt branded one. Hard to beat!

Not even close to a replacement for DC9096

I thought that this would be a reasonably priced replacement, but it is far from even comparable to the DeWalt battery. I can hardly get a couple holes drilled in 1/2" aluminum before it seems as though the battery is dead. It fits well and looks the same, but when you look at the actual specs of the battery, along with scientific proof, it is far superior. The battery is much lighter than a DeWalt, and this is from the fact that it is a DIFFERENT type of battery. DeWalt batteries are NiCAD and these are NiMH. You can do the research yourself on the difference, but a NiMH battery has a much lower rate of discharge and will NEVER output the amps necessary for a high power tool. It's also possible that a DeWalt 1Hr charger can damage these batteries because its output is too high. If you have one of the lower power screw guns or a flashlight, go for it, but in my DC988 along with reciprocating saw and circular saw, these batteries are useless.
