The Argeneau family has a secret . . . one of their own is a rogue vampire!
Nicholas Argeneau was once a successful hunter who went after rogue vampires who break the immortal law. Except no one has mentioned his name in the last fifty years, not since he turned into a rogue himself. But once a hunter, always a hunter. When Nicholas sees a bloodthirsty sucker terrifying a woman, it's second nature for him to come to her rescue. He had no idea he would also want to kiss her senseless . . .
One minute Josephine Willan is taking in a breath of fresh air, and the next sharp fangs are heading straight for her neck! Luckily a gorgeous stranger saves her life . . . and gets locked up for his troubles. Can a man who kisses so lovingly and passionately really have committed the crime he's accused of? Jo isn't so sure, and she's determined to prove that this renegade hunter is worth fighting for.

Realizing that some things didn't add up, like how did Marguarite not know that Christian was her 500 yr old son and how could she be on her honeymoon with his father, that I decided to check further and found out I was actually reading book 16 in a series. I finished the book naturally and then looked up the order of reading these books. Must go by author's listing of order and NOT the publishing date. Author explains this. Each book from #1 is NOT a disappointment. They just get better and better. This book, Renegade Hunter, the 3rd in the Rogue Hunter series (books 10,11,& 12) was by far the best!!! The decision arrived at regarding the situation with Nicholas was not explained. (Don't want to give anything away) hopefully will be explained in book 13. "Born to Bite" . I don't think I can stand the wait. Boy! Ms Sands knows exactly how to keep us going.
I really enjoyed this installment in the Argeneau series. Jo and Nicholas were both great characters. I really loved Jo, she was so sassy and funny and smart. She kept Nicholas on his toes, and that's hard to do with someone who is centuries old. This one had the great twist of trying to figure out why Nicholas had become and rogue, and then trying to figure what exactly happened all those years ago, and if all the suspicious blanks could make a difference.
Overall, this book was light and funny, but still managed to be full of action and mystery. I love how the characters from other books in the series always seem to play into the new books so that you can see how each of their lives are progressing, without the story feeling overdone or becoming boring. If Lynsay Sands keeps making them so fresh then I'm sure to stick with this series for a long time to come.
I was disappointed by the ending, what kind of book with a mystery ends indicating the mystery has been solved, the suspect can be released and everyone is to gather for explanations on an hour - and the book ends right there, without the explanation. Cheat!
I do want to add that I totally fell for Bricker in these last 3 books and was hoping the next would be about him =) He was quite funny and charming
