Lillian Nejad PhD is a clinical psychologist who has been working in the public mental health and community health systems in Melbourne, Australia for over ten years. She specialises in helping individuals manage their stress and anxiety and has developed and facilitated many groups on relaxation, stress and anxiety management. Katerina Volny BSc is a psychologist who has worked in public mental health and private practice settings in Melbourne, Australia. She is experienced in cognitive-behavioural techniques to treat a wide variety of individuals who experience stress and anxiety.

I bought a few of these, the others from different authors. This one has helps me the most. The progressive muscle relaxation track works wonders for me. The background music is very calming and her voice has an amazing calming effect as well. Listening to the progressive muscle relaxation track first, then, listening to the visualization tracks just after it puts me to sleep in just minutes after taking the headphones out while in bed. Sometimes, I even fall asleep before they're over. I don't use it every night, just those nights where I struggle to fall asleep.

I liked the calming mindset and it is easy listening. The only thing that interrupted my relaxing was all of the specific and lengthy breathing exercises in a particular section. That was more exhausting to me and distracting from my relaxing, than exactly helpful. Was just a little too much. Besides that, I did find listening to the calm and reassurring speaker relaxing, the positive messages and words to be helpful, and soothing music and such to be a good wind- down. At times relaxed me so much, I almost fell asleep. Overall, i would reccommend. Just probably skip the lengthy section of breathing exercises, unless that's your thing. But good CD.

My counselor recommended this CD to me and I didn't think much about it at the time. In fact I assumed that I would listen to it once and that would be the end of it. However, I have found that it is very helpful with my anxiety and ADD. I'm able to calm down and focus my energy, whether to sleep or simply complete a task in a timely manner. Kudos to the authors!

Dr. Nejad's CD includes several guided meditations in addition to an excellent 18-minute progressive muscle relaxation exercise that is the best of the ones I've tried to date. Well worth the money. The instructor's voice is clear, firm and pleasant; the timing of the exercises is very well done.The only flaw I can find with this CD is that it seems to be the only one that Lillian Nejad and Katerina Volny have produced to date.

Found this useful for the information they gave on relaxation techniques. But I did not like the muscle tension - it was not relaxing for me. I just focus on breathing in abdomen and relaxing body parts. Thank you. Dizzy David
