The best yoga DVD I've ever used. Ideal for anyone who is older, injured or has limited mobility. The individual classes are about 1/2 hour each, and include 1 for doing in bed, one completely in a chair, another with chair and standing work, and a fourth with sending seated and floor work (haven't tried that one yet). I've tried the chair only, and the chair and standing poses, and they are easy to follow, instructions are clear, the exercisers shown are real people, one doing everything the other doing modifications.
What I'm enthusiastic about is the mindful, gentle approach, with attention to how breathing affects the practitioner, and the explanations for why certain poses are structured especially for the geriatric set. I must own 7-8 yoga tapes/CDs/DVDs, and this is the only one that I go to regularly. At 74, with breathing issues and some arthritis, i still find it possible to pull on yoga pants & a tee on a morning when just getting out of bed is an effort & follow along with the sitting practice. I always feel better afterwards.
Although aimed at older and injured folks, I think this would also be useful for asthmatics and people with other chronic health problems. A good stretch gets my blood flowing and eases stiffness and soreness.
