About the Author

Ursula Dubosarsky is widely regarded as one of the most talented and original writers in Australia today. Her work ranges from multi-award-winning novels for older readers like Abyssinia, Theodora's Gift, The Red Shoe and the 2012 CBCA shortlisted The Golden Day, to her highly acclaimed and hilarious picture books with Andrew Joyner such as The Terrible Plop. Ursula has also collaborated with Tohby Riddle in their unique and award-winning series that takes an entertaining journey through English language, The Word Spy and Return of the Word Spy. Ursula Dubosarsky is the Australian Children's Laureate for 2020 - 2021.

Sue deGennaro studied film at uni, learnt to weld and draw at art school, then became an aerialist and performance artist. She now lives in Melbourne with her two girls, where her days are spent writing stories of things that make her giggle. She received an Australian Society of Authors mentorship in 2007, and was shortlisted for the Children's Book Council of Australia Crichton Award 2010. She has illustrated 12 picture books, and is the author and illustrator of The Pros and Cons of Being A Frog (shortlisted for the CBCA 2013 Early Childhood Prize). Her most recent books include The Hairy Nosed Wombats Find a New Home with Jackie French, Max & George by Cori Brooke and Bring a Duck by Lesley Gibbs.
