We follow the older sister Rowan in this installment. She is know as the less powerful one. The one with a power that even a toddler can produce. We follow her when she is truely on her own after the council deem losing the book in need of punishment and have the sisters bond broken and them physically seperated. And who on the coucil is the one to propse the idea? No one other then Phebeos boyfriend and captian of the special forces, Brandan (is it a rouse or has his loyalty to his brother won out).We see how she resents how useless she thinks she is, and how desperate she feels to be more then just great at glamours. The way she struggles with wanting to be more, to not be known as the weak Whelan sister and to stay on the right side and not fall for dark sets tricks.
We are introduced to Logan, a drop dead gorgeous specimen. Only problem is he is human. How can someone non-magical help Rowan with her very magical problems? Can he restore her faith that has been beaten into her a million times over that she is the weak Whelan, after so many generations she is the weakest to be born? How will Logan react when the inevitable of him discovering magic occurs?
How will Rowan survive without her more powerful sisters? How are the sisters going to fix this? Will the thirst for greater power be the right pull for dark set to finally have a Whelan on their side?
This book is addictive and a thrilling read that I couldn't put down. It's a must to read with suspense, romance and all the smart-arse comebacks we know Rowan Whelan is full of. You need to read this book if not only for the amazing story that takes you away into another world, but to know who or what is hidden in plain sight, and who can really be trusted.
Kidnapping, drama oh so much drama. a load of magic, some surprises on top of surprises, a dash of torture and believe it or not there was time for a bit of romance...lol
Reign of Mist was a totally enthralling and captivating adventure centered around Rowan the eldest sister who has always felt like the least powerful, worthless sister but I think Rowan is about to find out she is more powerful than she could have imagined, when everything is falling apart Rowan is the one who will be the backbone and strength of her family and she will what she has to save her sisters and her new man.
I LOVE Logan he is a keeper and a half I'm still on the fence about Brandon and I honestly want to see what Rowan does to him when they come face to face again...lol Rowan has some suppressed anger issues to work out with him...lol
I have to say I loved all the surprising twists and turns and I am super excited for book 3.
There is so much that happens in this book / series and it’s extremely hard to tell you why you need to read it without giving spoilers. Here’s what you need to know:- each book is about one of the sisters, telling part of an overall journey in their own POV. The time frame is one after the other, none is overlapping and nothing is repeated. The series is based on witches and magic, but it’s more of a mystery discovery all things relating to the Book of Sindal. Each sister has a different specialty magic power that they use to try and keep the Book safe from evil hands. The trick is, who is on their side, and who is glamouring themselves trying to side with the sisters, and will they see through it all before it’s too late?!! Another aspect of these books is each sister encounters a love that is unlike anything they have experienced before.
The biggest thing you need to know is, if you have not read anything by DG Swank before, you’re missing out. She has a way of creating characters that are full of depth and life in worlds that you want to escape to. She is gifted in being about to write in all genres that you still get the same sense of enlightenment with the characters. This is my first series reading anything by Alessandra Thomas, and I’ll be looking more into her works. Lastly I want to comment on the covers. The three books have the most gorgeous covers and depicts the sisters perfectly. Don’t hold back, grab this series and fall into their lives of magic.
