This is my first pair of weightlifting shoes, and my only regret is that I didn't buy a set sooner. It just seemed like a pretty extravagant expense to me, but enough lifters recommended lifting shoes and I finally caved. There's also a very detailed review of these shoes on YouTube.
I tested these with 4 sets of high bar squats and 5 sets of low bar squats, and was able to squat deeper and heavier than normal. I added 40 lbs to my squat, for 5 strict ass-to-grass reps. And it felt awesome!
I normally lift in Onitsuka Tigers, which have a very thin sole. The wide base on the Reebok Lifters provided a lot more stability, and the raised heel allowed me to squat much deeper than without. The shoes also felt like they "gripped" the floor better, and it felt easier to keep the barbell directly over my mid foot.
Although these shoes are listed as cross trainers, I can't imagine running in them. Or walking very far. Or doing walking lunges. They're fairly comfortable, but not very flexible.
I ordered a size 9 1/2, and they fit perfectly. For comparison, I wear the following shoe brand / sizes:
Onitsuka Tigers - 10
Brooks Cascadia - 10 1/2
Chuck Taylors - 9 1/2
PF Flyers - 10
Clarks - 10
