"A powerful tale of wolf packs, friendships and grief unlike anything you've read before." ~Five Star Review

Once every twenty years, pack alpha Luther takes a new wife. On the day of Selection, Red is chosen. Just as her family always planned. Just as she always planned. Until she met Alex Plain.

Alex took Red to worlds she never imagined, where the ordinary is seen as magical, and the upright is abstract. With the help of this new friendship, Red begins to see a future for herself outside of the pack. But, unfortunately, Alex Plain came along too late.

Red is obligated to marry Luther now, and taken to live in the mysterious Ravenswood Mansion, where truth lies and the walls have eyes. What Red learns there about her alpha will ignite some burning questions—ones that, when answered, could undo the entire order of the pack:

What happened to all the children born there? Why hasn’t this mansion left the seventeenth century? And where are all his previous wives?

This book is Angie's best to date. This is more than just a novel it's an adventure and soul searching journey. Red's relationship with Alex is heartwarming and eye opening and will draw you in wishing you too could visit the Plain house and it's quirkyness.
Reds heartbreaking decisions to fulfill a time honoured tradition and hopefully be accepted means accepting truths she never knew were there. I cried, laughed, screamed with joy and anger reading the many adversities ND moments she faced. I was with her every step of the way and it felt like I lost a bit of myself there when I'd finished.
Forget all you think you know about this book. It's way more than you could imagine. If it's the first of her books you've read, or you've read them all you won't be disappointed with Red. A game changer in this genre.

5.0 out of 5 stars AM Hudson has done it again! 26 July 2016

It's Prodigious, Shocking, Stunning, Unbelievably fascinating and enduring yet evil has a presence about it! Epic writing style! - Nook Books and More Blog

Red that pulls you in. The characters have a way of pulling you in. They are all unique in a way that gives it a different appeal then the average paranormal read. That’s why I love AM Hudson's work. There's a sense of freshness, an appeal that you never read elsewhere and a beauty of rawness that is beyond impeccable.

It's a story of a much different concept of the Wolf and it has a wonder and shows you how ones imagination saves their own sanity. The characters evolve into their own and have such total different freshness about them. You have every paranormal being to man I think in this book. It seems to give care with each character as it evolves. Alex's character shows you that appeal that you seem to feel a sense of respect for him as all he endures but yet seems to only see the beauty in things. His character shows you the true soul. It's hard to capture that in words. The author does a phenomenal job at not only showing you his soul but making you feel and experience the beauty of it. A rawness that makes you feel things will be ok. I instantly fell in love with his character.

Red's character changes so much at first, but its necessary for her to evolve. She plunges deeply into her destiny and makes waves and changes were know one dare. She grows so much from knowing Alex and from emerging herself into the new world of the unknown. She teaches everyone around her ways to become who they are destined to be while she's plunging into her own destiny. You'll instantly love her character through out the story because the compassion she shows and teaches is beyond words.

I really enjoyed watching their family dynamics and how they nurtured each other and grow. AM Hudson's uses this story to discuss a topic that the entire world faces daily. Hate and prejudice. She touches the ugliness and rawness of it and the main character exploits it with new and exciting possibilities to make waves to change it. It really gives you hope that maybe one person really does make a difference in this world or the paranormal world. It also touches on deep depression and grief which has always been a tough one for me. This book has left an impact in my heart and I plan to read it several times. It makes you see the realness in this world and you are not alone but without harping on the woe is me feeling that one might get during that time. I guess I just loved the realness and rawness of how it is. Books sometimes paint a pretty picture of things and life and its not always a bed of roses. Lol The writer hits the most hardest topics in the world today though and doesn’t explain it away just uses it as a tool to explain that its ok.

Not everything is magical though and she soon realizes it once she reaches Luther and Ravenswood Mansion. She sees the true lies and darkness within these walls and embarks in her own journey to see deeper into his soul only to find much much more. She reaches so many more then you thought she ever would. She shows you how strong a women can be. Sometimes strength comes within and you don’t need a sword always to kick ass, but a great heart and strong will to see things through.

Love is such a powerful emotion that exist and that explains this through out this story. There are many twist and turns in the story. Perhaps the most I've ever seen in a series. Each relationship pulls you in because it's hot yet forbidding and dangerous with some. It’s a phenomenal read that will blow you away!

The authors words flow effortlessly off the page and it's easy to follow. You stay focused throughout the book not getting lost like some authors in their adventure scenes. I loved the different characters and they draw you into their world making you feel as though you are really their. Thanks AM Hudson for one hell of a ride!

5.0 out of 5 stars Unique! 26 July 2016

This book is different from any other AM Hudson books. It starts out very deep, very emotional. I honestly wasn't prepared for that. The title of the book had me thinking it was going to be a big, bad werewolf love story. That was not the author's fault, but mine. I was thinking Dark Secrets Series (her first series written), but with wolves. After I realized that this book was going to be something different, I went back and started it again. This time with no preconceptions.

The beginning of the book deals with escaping reality, and how some people deal with it. Especially when that reality is full of responsibilities. How does one cope? Ms. Hudson does an awesome job of introducing the characters and their seemingly hopeless situations. My favorite part of the book is when Red is living with the Alpha. There is lots of excitement and surprises. I was biting my fingernails, at the edge of my seat the whole time. AM Hudson also did a very graphic job of portraying grief and despair. So many times in books one of the main characters goes through something unimaginable, only to be back to their normal selves the next day. That is not life. Especially for someone who deals with depression, or who is bipolar. Red The Untold Story hits this right on the head.

So, before you start reading, I have just a bit of advice....have the tissues ready!

I received an ARC of Red: The Untold Story in exchange for an honest review.

5.0 out of 5 stars So amazing! 26 July 2016

I got to be an ARC reviewer, and just let me tell you, as much as I love David and Jason and Ara and the whole DSS world, I was pleasantly surprised and loved this world just as much. I can easily see this blossoming into a full series if Angie wanted to, and I'm sure you'll feel the same.
But this is so much more than a story of a pack, or a girl, or a deranged old Alpha. Angie dives right into the deepest pits of depression and maybe even a bit of bipolar, of coping with illness in whatever way you can, and accepting things the way they are even when it's hard. I hope you all are able to see the beauty within the characters I felt, even while being sucked into the story and rooting for Red and the Plains.

I LOVE THE COVER that's what drew me in wanting to read it and also that its AM Hudson tackling werewolves book. I hate that I didn't like this as much as I wanted to. I read others reviews and felt I read a different book. Yes, this was different from A.M. Hudson typical story and that's fine. I just felt like I was down the rabbit hole the whole time I read it. Its a different spin on Little Red Riding Hood but not even a close cousin to the story. The world her and Alex created was a nice place but it wasn't a easy flow to read. The creative / descriptive sentences were a little much with each sentence that I couldn't understand or had to re-read it to see if she meant figuratively or literally. The time at the mansion was thrilling and suspenseful. Red is a strong female lead with great loss. Her mom would let her go off to marry, consummate at 17 but she had to wait until 21 to drink? The pull and tug deciding if she liked Luther romantically or not was frustrating, but it keeps you guessing. Alex's mom was a Raven but it never got back to that or addressed the Raven witches further I don't know, I'm just sad it do it for me. I know the author worked hard on it and the promotions for it were pretty amazing.

I absolutely loved Red! I'm a huge AM Hudson fan especially because she wrote my all time favorite books The Dark Secret Series. But because I'm such a huge Dark Secret Series fan I was always afraid to give anything else a chance, because to me nothing ever measure up too it. It was for the Adult genre and I liked that. Red is for all ages! And boy am I ever so glad I read it! Its a wonderful book filled with such magic and imagination. Of course it has a little bit of darkness In it like her other work, and that's what I love about her books, they always have a sense of darkness too them which totally intrigue me! This book was beautifully written and truly touched my heart. I absolutely loved the Plain family, and I loved Reds relationship with Alex. All I can say is give this book an opportunity to take you too another world that we often leave behind in the real world or that we often forget we once had, and that's a beautiful imagination and Am Hudson did a marvelous job at bringing it into this book!
