This is a great story, with a plot that should be well worn and easy to pick, but surprisingly enough, is actually a lot of fun!

This was a very interesting read. There is going to be a lot of comparisons to books like the Hunger Games etc, but the Red Queen stands nicely on its own.
This story is about the super powered Silvers (who have X-Men type powers), who rule over the Reds, the common human class who basically act as the slaves to the Silvers. The society is set up with the Silvers as an Elite Royalty, with a King and then the entire set of upper class ranks, with Counts, Dukes, Duchesses etc. On the other side are the Reds, living in complete poverty and doing all the menial chores and the labour to support the Silvers.
Along comes Mare, our main character, who is a bit of a lovable rogue as a down and out Red, about to be conscripted into the Red army and sent off into the never ending War that is going on. However, Mare has a special ability - a Silver like talent that may well upset the entire balance and destroy everything.
In the middle of all of this, there is a revolt starting to happen carried out by the Scarlet Guard, of course there has to be a romance, and there is a choice of Prince to be King, Cal, and the second Prince, Maven. Not forgetting of course there is her Red friend Kilorn.
This is a great story, with a plot that should be well worn and easy to pick, but surprisingly enough, is actually a lot of fun, has great characters, some great twist, and the Author has done a fantastic job to make it worth the read.
Looking forward to the next part in this adventure.
Ignore the criticism and prattle about this book - they obviously didn't bother to read it properly - this is an interesting fantasy tale with some good twists and plots and a main character that is a lot of fun. Enjoy!
