For fans of J.A. Redmerski's EDGE OF NEVER comes a New-Adult romance that will tear your heart apart and leave you wistfully dreaming about the characters long after you've put the book down.

Meet Ginger -- twenty-one, a father long since gone, a mother who marries for money, a body that's forty pounds overweight, and a voice from heaven itself. At seventeen, she gave the gift of herself to the boy she loved, the most wanted guy in school, and then he stood on it, left her hanging, walked away, and left her scarred. Forever.

Now? She prefers to be alone.

Meet Ace Travers -- roadhog, running from a broken home, a loveless childhood, talking with his fists and his smoking electric guitar, trying to keep the memories from hemorrhaging inside his mind. Memories of when he was beaten, when his father tried to take his little sister...

Memories he can never get away from.

Until he hears her sing. Ginger.

And now he can't stay away from her.

And she can't help herself from being attracted to him. Despite all the reasons she shouldn't be...

3.0 out of 5 stars Loved the story but the writing could use some editing 18 October 2014

I loved the protagonists in this book. They are strong well established characters. The plot was ok and has a few nice little twists to it.
My main issue was the tremendous amount of detail that just dragged the writing. And the repetition of certain elements over and over again. It bugs me when authors do this, almost like they think their readers are slow on the intake and don't get the information the first and second time it is present. I think an editor could have gone over this book a couple more times and it would have flowed in a much smoother manner.

All in all of you want a great warm romance with protagonists you can fall in love with, this is a fine one to fulfil that need.
Enjoy.

4.0 out of 5 stars A light romance with just the right amount of angst. It has the blues, the jazz and a whole lot of country. 29 July 2014

4 Romantic Stars!

I started reading this on a lazy Sunday afternoon and finished just before dinner. It is light and an easy read, with just the right amount of angst… It has the blues, the jazz and a whole lot of country.

The story revolves around these two beautiful people, Ginger and Ace.

Ginger or Gin is beautiful with black hair and blue eyes, and with a sexy voluptuous body… though, she thinks she is fat, her big insecurity. Because you see, growing up she was always a little round and when she hits puberty, she just swelled out. And at the age of 17, she fell in love with the most wanted guy in school… then he broke her heart and walked away… bringing with him her confidence. So now, she prefers to be alone, avoiding all heartbreak, hiding behind her music. That is, until Ace came along.

I like Gin… despite her insecurity, she is happy, though a bit lonely. And I do picture her with a voice like Adele when she sings (I love Adele btw). Why? Cause her voice is described powerful and beautiful and she also sings Adele’s songs. And maybe a bit of Kerry Underwood too, when she does country songs. Did I not forget she’s suppose to have a voice of an angel?

Ace’s way of dealing and forgetting is to run, from his broken home and loveless childhood… To talking with his fists… and with his smoking electric guitar, trying to keep the memories from hemorrhaging inside his mind. All he really wanted was to feel “peace”. And Gin brought peace in his life.

My heart easily goes out to him. He is not one of those who are broken and starts acting like an ass. No, in fact, he is sensitive and honest… And when he showed his emotions, I thought it was beautiful.

Ace’s story was a lot harder to take in what with his despicable father… How he would do anything to protect his sister and his mother against his father.

Then there’s that special and tender way he is with Gin, showing her in more ways how sexy and beautiful she is to him. Needless to say, the sex were steamy and sweet.
There are those wonderfully written sigh worthy, magical moments… like their first kiss…

"In my moment of doubt, my moment of wonder, time stops. The moment lasts forever. My hands on her upper arms, her hands on the railing. Both of us holding on, holding on to something. Too afraid to let go. Too afraid to take the next step. Me, because I don’t trust myself with her. Her, for reasons I don’t yet know.

But then she makes the next move.

She makes the move.

And I’m floored. Completely floored. But I’ll be damned if I don’t make the second one.

She turned, one moment to the next, and before I knew it, she had her left hand on my neck, yanking me down with all her strength.

When her lips met mine, my whole world exploded.

And everything changed inside me.

Everything."

Their story is quite sincere… it is beautiful and heartwarming.

This is written in dual POV, both telling their story about their past and present.

I like how the author showcased Nashville… I felt like I went on tour for a bit and it sounds wonderful.

I did not expect the added suspense towards the end. That definitely got my heart pumping.

And the ending, I thought it was perfect.

Don’t forget the music. Music played a huge part in their story. And I loved the lyrics, specially Red, Hot and Blues…. ;)

Beautifully written.

I would like to thank Ms. Rachel Dunning for giving us a copy of this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Steam Drama and Love 22 July 2014
By lorraine M - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Ginger Waters has never gotten over the heartache she endured when she
was seventeen. Feeling betrayed by the boy she gave herself to she refuses
to allow the past to happen again.

Insecurities with her body image lead to years of loneliness.
Her outlet, music as in she sings the blues.

Ace Travers is a man on the run, running from his past. A past of anger,
fighting and hate. Hate for the man who raised him, his father.

Arriving in Nashville on his Harley with his red Gibson guitar his eyes
fall upon Ginger/Gin and a feeling of peace washes over him, a feeling
he is not used to but likes. The two make beautiful music together.

Told from the POV’s of each character as they recall their past, it’s
as if the characters are speaking directly to you, the reader.
Somewhat repetitive; Ace is always saying he's on the run, bad for Gin
and he'll leave and break Gin’s heart. Same with Gin/Ginger, she constantly reflects
back to the time in her life filled with pain or she’s putting herself down with negative
body image issues.

The plus side is you get the full picture of who they are and the demons each fight.
I loved the references to Nashville, the sights, the attractions that tourist love, it’s a
city I enjoy visiting myself, strolling down Broadway with the sounds of country music
filling the streets.

I liked Ace, no matter how far or how fast he ran he was still devoted to
his family and would do anything to protect them.

He treated Gin with the respect she deserved and was always up front with her.
I wanted to like Gin but she just wouldn’t let go of what happened when
she was seventeen. She hid behind her body and her music until Ace
showed her just how beautiful she really was.

Unable to deny what their bodies crave Gin and Ace give in and enjoy
a night of passion one that opens their hearts and minds to the possibly
of more, if Ace doesn’t run that is.

The love/sex scenes were steamy and tastefully done
so if you’re not a fan of hard-core erotica this is for you.

The ending, hmmm…a little thriller, chiller that made my heartbeat
spike because it could have gone either way, I wasn’t sure what
to expect.

No cliffhanger, all wrapped up nicely.
