Can I just say - Small Town romances rock!!! I love everything about them, even the annoying everyone knowing your business part as well.
It was great to step back into Wildrose Landing. Reckless does feature the previous two books characters but I would definitely say that Jude & Izzy’s story still reads as a stand-alone.
I love a fake marriage trope, and Abby’s version is outstanding. I could feel the chemistry these two had drip from the pages. But that certainly didn’t make for a smooth sailing relationship. Both have baggage from their pasts that end being a factor in their present. I did feel for Izzy though, she always felt like she was a second choice for everyone. So all I am going to say more about that without giving away a whole heap of the story - the grand gesture towards the end of the story made my heart happy and I loved reading that for Izzy. Hopefully Austin ends up with his own story as well. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

Foundations are definatley needed for a house. As when their built on lies and half truths.. It will begin to crumble. Jude has the right intentions.. Just the wrong cement to build a house with x

Izzy finds her backbone and I couldn't be prouder of her. And I was sat here crying with her. Because I know how it feels to put everyone before yourself all the time.

Finally Izzy and Jude find their way together although it is far from conventional. They have loved each other from afar since being teenagers and when circumstances mean Jude needs a wife he decides Izzy is the perfect woman. Life, however, is not as simple as he hopes.
This is a book full of emotion and with all the characters we love from Wildrose Landing.

This is the first book I read by the author and although it's the 3rd book in the series it can be read as a standalone.

It's a combo of some of my favourite troops like small town romance, brothers bestfriend, fake relationship, surprise baby, second chance romance.

I felt for both Jude and Izzy. They had their own insecurities and baggage which they slowly work on. There were many moments between them which makes you swoon.

This small town romance not just makes you fall in love with the romance and story but all the people in it. There is a certain charm in Wildrose Landing which pulls you right in.

There were 2 major disappointments for me due to which I couldn't give it a 5⭐. First being Izzy projecting her insecurities on her relationship with Jude. I sympathies with her and understand but overall I did not like that. Next thing was Alex not taking a stand for Izzy. He was upset but never actually did anything about it.

Apart, from which I absolutely loved the story.

I couldn't put it down. I mean... I had a million other things to do and there I was on Chapter 15 in a blink of an eye. I started the book thinking I'll just read a few chapters to get a memory of Wildrose Landing back in my head and BOOM... everything just fell away and I had to know if Jude and Izzy were going to last.

Oh my swoony stars! Jude just couldn't get out of his own way and be perfect all at the same time. Absolutely rooting for him each step of the way to just figure it out, but like most of us he did not until it was almost all lost. And Izzy. Sweet, adorable Isabella. The amount of tears that built right along side of her was astonishing since I wasn't expecting depth of feeling along with this cute "I've loved my brother's bestie forever" story. The motions she has to go through with her world turning upside down and those parents -- oh I have experience with those people.

I think that's what gets me about writers like Abby Brooks. They always have a moment where you are going along in a story and next thing you know you are finding yourself in one or both of the main characters. That connection we all find when reading is phenomenal because of amazing authors. Abby is one of those and you don't want to miss out on her works!

I have loved each visit to Wildrose Landing and was so excited that Abby Brooks took us back again for Jude and Izzy’s story. I love this wonderful group of friends and family and was especially curious about these two friends who clearly had a past together. And boy did their past collide with their plans for the future to make for a very exciting present!

While this is a friends to lovers, fake marriage story, it’s also a wonderful story of second chances – not just for Jude and Izzy as a couple but for their relationships with others that they love. Speaking of love, Izzy has loved Jude since they were teenagers, but thanks to his friendship with her big brother Alex, he was off limits. He was sweet, funny, charming and their chemistry was amazing, but he was also clueless to her feelings for him. Things change forever at Alex’s wedding reception when they finally give in to their undeniable chemistry and attraction. On top of that, Jude has reasons for needing a wife and asks for Izzy’s help. He sees her as kind, smart and driven – the perfect role model for his younger brother who needs positive influences in his life. She hesitates because she feels like he chose Alex over her years ago, only adding to her feelings of insecurity and of always being second best. As they navigate their fake marriage, they soon realize that their old feelings have never died. It’s just a matter of how hard they’re willing to fight to overcome the obstacles that get in their way and trust the true depth of their feelings for each other.

I love Abby’s writing and she gives us so many sweet, tender, amazing moments in this story. Jude and Izzy’s journey had me laughing, tearing up and completely swooning. (I even love their nicknames of Snow White and Prince Charming - which seem to subtly imply that fairy tales really do come true!) Reckless is a completely wonderful, incredibly romantic, steamy, small town love story with all the feels!
