Product Description

Marie Josette d’Orgemont, cousin to Louis XVI, watched in horror as a rogue creature took her husband’s life before turning on her. A powerful vampire swept in and spared her life, but she never suspected surviving meant immortality or the price she’d have to pay to protect her surviving son.

Centuries later, in Miami, with her family on the verge of extinction, Marie is preoccupied with the continuation of her human bloodline. When she meets sexy and persistent Odin Ulfsson, his icy-blue gaze and burning touch are hard to resist. Will a forbidden romance with the Nordic werewolf be the key to her happiness, or will it set in motion a wrath that endangers not only her last human heir but her entire existence?

4.0 out of 5 stars Vampires with history 14 June 2017
By Jennifer Zamboni - Published on

Vampires and werewolves in the same book! Hooray!

This story is about the forbidden romance between a vampire of royal decent and a Viking.

It was a little slow to start & a little heavy on the bedroom time, but the second half of the book, holy smokes!

The story also goes back and forth between Marie as a newly made vampire in France & modern times. There is also a great dynamic between Marie and her so many times over granddaughter, Abby. Abby's main function, as a human, is to produce heirs for Marie & provide her with companionship. Abby.

Abby seeks out a romantic relationship, while Marie stumbles into one of her own, and neither the werewolves nor the vampires are pleased. Both species go through great lengths break them up.

Now, like I mentioned before, I felt the focus was a little too heavy on the sex instead of the story (I know many won't mind this, but I'm more a fan of story and character, rather than sex) I also would have liked a little bit more of Odin's history. We know very little of his beginnings, and I hope there will be more on that in future books!

As a writing team, I feel Jane Ederlyn works well. I don't know their writing method, but I couldn't tell where the story switched writers and I'm looking forward to seeing more of the outcome!

5.0 out of 5 stars This book was recommended to me by a friend 2 November 2016

This book was recommended to me by a friend. I was hesitant to read it because it's not the genre I typically gravitate towards, but I was swayed by the cover and the idea that part of it was set in 18th century France. Although I've read some vampire books (Anne Rice) in the past, this book included some new creative details about vampires. The main character is a descendant of the French monarchy and very strong--something I love in a female protagonist. She's no-nonsense and takes what she wants within the bounds of her experience and wisdom. Gotta love that! Based on the suspenseful ending, I'm guessing there's going to be a sequel to this story. Another reviewer said it was her 'guilty pleasure'--I totally agree!

5.0 out of 5 stars I love vampires!!! 7 January 2017

I loved this book!!! I could not put it down and found myself reading it through the app on my phone. I loved the Twilight series so having another book in this kind of genre made me so happy and I cannot wait for the next one. I have so many theories of what path the different characters could take and cannot wait to find out if any of my theories are correct! I loved that it was set in Miami and that I could picture the different places in my mind - it made it so "real" for me because I could imagine what the characters looked like as they were in the different locations around the city. I highly recommend this book to anyone - it is a great read :)

If you like paranormal novels with a twist of romance, and perhaps a slice of sarcasm then Reborn is definitely for you.
Enjoyed all the characters especially Marie and the SEXY shape shifter, Odin. The romance between these two is intense, powerful, passionate, and hot - blooded - just read chapter 11!!!
I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series. Definitely a guilty pleasure!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars An enjoyable read! 18 December 2016

I enjoyed reading Reborn and found it difficult to put down.
The flashbacks to Maries past added depth to the present day story.
The characters were all dimensional, and easy to like (or hate).
The romance, chemistry and sparring between Marie and Odin was nicely done.

I am now eagerly waiting for 'book 2' as I'm keen to know what happens next to with Marie, Abby, Odin and Egon!
