Product Description

New York Times bestselling author Joanna Wylde returns to the “wild and raw”* world of the Reapers MC with the story of Gage and Tinker…

The club comes first.

I’ve lived by those words my whole life—assumed I’d die by them, too, and I never had a problem with that. My Reaper brothers took my back and I took theirs and it was enough. Then I met her. Tinker Garrett. She’s beautiful, she’s loyal, and she works so damned hard it scares me sometimes . . . She deserves a good man—one better than me. I can’t take her yet because the club still needs me. There’s another woman, another job, another fight just ahead.

Now she’ll learn I’ve been lying to her all along. None of it’s real. Not my name, not my job, not even the clothes I wear. She thinks I’m nice. She pretends we’re just friends, that I’ve still got a soul . . . Mine’s been dead for years. Now I’m on fire for this woman, and a man can only burn for so long before he destroys everything around him.

I’m coming for you, Tinker.

Soon.

I'd been looking forward to the release of this book, but sadly I feel quite disappointed now I've read it. Probably the weakest out of all her books IMO. The H and h were OK, although I didn't love them that much. But the plot was weak, not like the great plots of some of the other books. It got boring, and I ended up flipping pages to see if things were going to pick up. (Didn't happen). Somehow the relationship between the H and h just didn't work for me. Hard to pin down exactly why. Just the writing wasn't that good.

I also didn't like the overuse of the c-word by the H. Yeah, I know it's an MC book. I've read quite a few, and I accept this kind of language in context. But somehow Gage seemed particularly foul-mouthed - unpleasantly so, in fact. This annoyed me, where in other MC books I probably hardly even noticed it.

Overall, I was disappointed. I will purchase Ms Wylde's future books because I know she can write. e.g. I really like Reaper's Stand, and Picnic and London from that book are terrific characters. Hopefully this book was just a one-off dud.

Mixed emotions about Reaper's Fire. While i loved Tinker and Gage i did feel that their story was awfully slow. I kept waiting for something exciting to happen. It lacked the intense-ness of the other books and left me wanting.
Tinker was a great character and i am glad that she had her own story. Gage was great. A little dirty, unwillingly sweet, confused and a great lead who knew what he wanted in the long run.
The couple fought, bickered and the tension was hot and steamy and well worth the wait. That was something the book did not lack in. The chemistry between the two played out perfectly and it all lead to a great reward. I wouldn't call it a slow burn as such but it was lengthy and emotional.
The supporting characters all played a roll. Some where lovable and created a nice change of dynamics, others you want to stab but they all played their part in the story and made it character strong.
Overall i still enjoyed the book, the writing and the characters. It was well written and structured, solid foundations for a great novel by a talented writer. Perhaps just missing the danger or suspense the other novels offer, the clock didn't seem to tick on this novel as with the others and that is why i think its a 3.5 star read. Still one of the better written Motorcycle club reads you'll find out there and a great addition to the series, but on its own it lacks a little.

***I try to write an honest review and offer pros and cons as requested by the authors. I never accept freebies***

I have loved this series so far with my favourite still being, Reaper's Property. I was so intrigued by Gage and Tinker's story after the sneak preview in Painter's book 5. However, Reaper’s Fire doesn’t quite make it up to the previous high standards, in my opinion. Nevertheless, it's still a very good read and Joanna's raw, raunchy and honest writing is always a bonus.
The main plot has two ongoing issues: a major tussle with the Nighthawk Raiders and Gage and Tinker's relationship. Intertwined throughout are many subplots that occasionally overshadow and crowd the story.
What I liked most about Reaper's Fire was the dialogue between the various combination of characters - the conversations were funny at times, communicative, insightful and always natural (never forced). In addition, both Gage and Tinker's inner voices revealed details of how they really felt about each other...tantalising! I also liked how Joanna achieved good character development through imagery and descriptions - alpha, predatory, handsome Gage and stunning, curvaceous, open-hearted Tinker (the secondary characters were well-defined, too.) Lastly, I liked how Gage and Tinker were fallible and grew to love each other deeply as well as passionately.
This book is a very good read in it's genre. If you've followed the series so far you'll enjoy Reaper's Fire. There are a couple of threads left dangling for another installment in the future.

Cage doing what needed to be done for his club, Tinker just getting through the days when the two meet their chemistry is sizzling, throw in a few meth heads with a psycho sister and you have your hands full.
With the support of the Reapers and Best friend you can't go wrong, this book has a bit of everything thrown in, loved it couldn't put it down.

I loved this last book in the series. I was surprised when I first started reading Joanna Wylde and these books. I had not read biker books before and i thought she did an amazing job with all of them.

I was so eager to read this book, in my opinion Ms Wylde is the best author this genre has to offer. I have read all of her other books numerous times. I wont be rereading this one. I found the story line incredibly repetitive as most of the material had been covered in the previous book. I felt like I had to read the first60% to get to the new part of the story. The highlight of this story was the friendship between Tinker and Carrie. Carrie was hilarious, she should have her own short story. Worth reading but dont judge the author on this book alone as she can do so much better.
