Has a mistep.Reviewed in the United States on 7 September 2017
I am really enjoying this trilogy. I think the way the second book builds on the first is really interesting and expands the world the author creates in some very satisfying ways. I do have some issues with the treatment of the female captives in the prisoner camp. One was subjected to an ongoing cruelty that I thought was dismissed too easily as the way it had to be.... I found the way that individual was viewed and treated out of step with the experiences of the main character. It just didn't quite fit together and was rather jarring. Left a bit of a sour note on an otherwise entertaining book. And then the price structure for the purchase of the third book leaves me a bit disgruntled. I haven't ordered it because it seems too high.
A worthy sequel!Reviewed in the United States on 12 September 2011
The second book in Holland's The Gods Dream Trilogy, Reaper of Dreams lives up to the excellent first volume in this trilogy. A captured prince tortured by an evil god finds his soul mate in an Earth woman badly wounded in body and spirit. To me, Jasmine's adjustment to a new world and her discovery of its unique culture and half-dozen gods--the most quarrelsome bunch since the Greeks and Romans--was the most fun. There's also plenty of tension and action as she and Prince Indaran fight to free themselves and his people. Book One's Princess Daria and her mate from Earth, Khan, add further drama to the story. Holland wraps everything up, but leaves the biggest battle of all for her third volume, due in January.

Great second book in the series...Reviewed in the United States on 21 October 2011
Where do I start? Debra Holland has created, within the first two books of this series, a world complete with complex cultures, language, petty, waring Gods and characters that are compelling and sometimes endearing or frightening. Without going into the plot too deeply (as other reviewers have already done so) my thoughts on these two books are intensely positive and now I am anxiously awaiting the third and final installment in the series. I adore fantasy adventure books with a bit of romance and intrigue...Holland delivers this and more in this wonderful series that is sure to become a classic.

I loved the series. It had intrigue, great characters, passion. Read all three books. Debra Holland is a great writer.

I am retired and I read just before bed time to get settled into a dream world. The first book-Sower of Dreams was so different from what I usually read. It was like the Science Fiction book's I used to read. I could hardly put it down. Then when I was finished I wanted to know where it was going to take me in book #2-Reaper of Dreams. I am so disappointed that the 3rd book in the series isn't out yet. It should have been out several month's ago. Any idea when it will be on the market?
