5.0 out of 5 stars Great book 7 December 2014

I have to admit, I didn’t think LL could impress me more after reading Living Again but she has. Reaching Rachel was an emotionally gripping story that had me in tears and on the edge of my seat through most of it. I am so impressed with this author and this group of books.

Rachel has a secret, one she won’t even share with Kayley her best friend. Moving to the area five years ago she was trying to run from a break up with her one true love Devin. He left her due to lies, but she can’t tell him the truth. She just has to accept that he is gone and she deserves to be alone. On the anniversary of their break up she is in the bar, trying to forget when Justin comes to introduce himself to Rachel.

Seeing how one night stands are common practice for her, to help her forget Devin, she took Justin home, the problem is, he didn’t want to leave. This is when Rachel’s life gets dangerous and her life hangs by a thread.
Devin felt he know the truth, Rachel hurt him, lied to him and betrayed him, but his heart would never let her go. Moving to different cities in the state working for the law, he finally lands a job with the SWAT team. His goal had been reached; he just wishes he had Rachel to celebrate with him. Once he is settled into his new job, he is alerted of a situation that his team needs to rush to. Little did he know when the team makes their way into the house, his dream is drowning in the most horrific of situations.

As we see Rachel get the pieces of her life back together, Devin finds a place back in her life. She knows the truth of the past is going to have to come out soon, but how will he handle it. He promised to never leave her again, but can she count on that? Will he try to find justice for the wrong that others have caused him and Rachel?

This was one of the most heart breaking, emotional reads I have read in a very long time. I was glued to every page begging that those two would have a chance to start over again. I wanted both of them to find their dreams that had been taken from them so long ago. LL Collins is one of my all-time favorite authors because she brings us stories that will stay with the reader for a long time. Her characters become part of our soul, their stories part of our own lives. I could read this book over and over again and I don’t feel I would lose one once of emotion that LL draws out of me. I can’t even tell you how much I recommend this book. It will certainly be on my list of favorites.

Reaching Rachel was a beautiful tear jerker for me. I first met Rachel in Living again.
I was hooked from the very beginning with this book, it is so full of emotions
Finding out what makes Rachel the way she is today and why she doesn't do relationships she tries to move on from the one man that she truly loves Devin
Just when she decides to move on tragedy strikes Rachel this is where the book really started to get emotional for me.
After this tragedy Devin and Rachel worlds collide again. Devin is a ROCK for Rachel and neither one of them have EVER stopped loving the other. He pushes Rachel to not give up, she is and always will be it for him and he will always be the one for her.
This book has tragedy, pain, healing and most important true love and healing. A beautifully written love story by a very talented Author.
I look forward to many more from this Author and cannot wait for the third book in this series.
I was given a copy of this book by the Author for a honest review

What do you get when you mix a feisty redhead and sexy as sin SWAT officer? Well, you get a fabulous novel by the amazingly talented LL. Collins. This is a nonstop read that will have you begging for more.

Reaching Rachel will leave you breathless, crying, and jumping for joy. Collins brings us characters that we fell in love with in Living Again and adds even more in her second book. There are some horrific and difficult situations in this book that these character are a part of.
We get to see just how real Rachel is, what it is that has haunted her for years and left her heartbroken. She has built a wall up and has never let anyone close. Of course she has to go through a traumatic experience that any normal person would not be able to come back from. Rachel is a very strong and determined young women who knows what she wants.
Devin comes to us just in time in Reaching Rachel. He never thought that he would see the one person who has always had his heart. Devin has physically moved on since he had his heart broken but never has emotionally. He has realized one dream and that is being a SWAT team member.
Will Rachel and Devin get their happily ever after? Or will their past continue to haunt them?
5.0 out of 5 stars turbulent and stunning story!! 13 February 2015

Reaching Rachel was an absolutely fantastic addition to the Living Again series and once again L.L. Collins has managed to emotionally steamroll me. Rachel’s story is gut-wrenching and raw, dealing with difficult realities and the struggle to survive in the aftermath. The fantastic character development and turbulent storyline delivered a journey that hit me hard. I was immediately captivated by the flawed characters I could easily relate to and it took no time at all for me to find myself thoroughly invested in their happily ever after. While just as emotionally powerful, Reaching Rachel had an entirely different feel than Living Again, which allowed me to completely appreciate L.L.’s talent for unique, heartbreaking, and hopeful stories.

Rachel is an unquestionably genuine character that had me on her side within minutes of beginning her story. There was a false confidence and an honest fragility about her that drew me in and kept me on edge while I waited for her story to play out. Rachel’s fear and vulnerability was so tangible that my heart ached for her every time she was faced with another reminder of her traumatic past. Devin might be one of my favorite BBFs of all time. His protective nature and total devotion to Rachel was enough to make me melt, but then we see the cracks in his armor, how afraid he is to lose Rachel, how helpless he feels when he can’t protect her from outside forces, and he turned me into a puddle. It gave him an authenticity I could’t help but fall for.

If there is one thing L.L. has perfected, it is bringing her characters emotions to life. I could feel every moment of sadness and regret that Rachel experienced but I also sensed how overwhelmingly haunted this young woman was by her past. I connected with her pain and felt the emotional weight of her story. I was completely consumed by this book, completely immersed in every high and low of Rachel and Devin’s journey. L.L. Collins has once again proven her incredible gift for bringing broken and damaged characters to life and forging a meaningful connection between them and her readers. I can only imagine what ugly-cry-inducing story L.L. has in store for us next in this series!
