Product description

From the Publisher

There’s nothing like a little sibling rivalry—and there’s no betrayal that stings quite like that of a sister’s.

Thankfully, I wouldn’t know. My sisters and I get along like gangbusters and always have (the Great Eyepatch Incident of 1991 notwithstanding…). I feel lucky to have their love and support in my life, and I know that they’ll always be there for me.

That’s not the case with Anna and Cara. On the surface, theirs is a loving sisterly relationship. But roiling beneath the facade are lies, duplicity, and uncontrolled jealousy. And secrets that have been festering for twenty years—which, like the waterfall that is so central to the book, come crashing down with terrible fury and irreversible consequences in an ending that left me openmouthed and heart-stopped.

There’s something so fascinating about the notion of competitiveness, envy, and avarice, particularly when cast through the female perspective, and especially within a close family. Debut author Amber Cowie delves into these themes with skillful, compelling prose and one hell of a twisted imagination. It is such a treat to introduce you to this new talent, an author who I expect will become a must-read voice in suspense for many years to come.
