The Rabbit Hunter: 6 Hardcover – 23 April 2018
It begins with a nursery rhyme. Nineteen minutes later you die…
The sixth gripping thriller in Lars Kepler's internationally bestselling series featuring Joona Linna. Perfect for fans of Stieg Larsson and Jo Nesbo.
A stranger wearing a mask stands in the shadow of a garden. He's watching his first victim through the window. He will kill him slowly, make it last – play him a nursery rhyme – make him pay.
A killer in your house.
There's only one person the police can turn to – ex-Detective Joona Linna – but he's serving time in a high-security prison. So they offer him a chance to secure his freedom: help superintendent Saga Bauer track down the vicious killer known as The Rabbit Hunter, before he strikes again.
Only one man can stop him.
Soon another three victims have been murdered and Stockholm is in the grip of terror. Joona Linna must catch a disturbed predator, whose trail of destruction leads back to one horrific night of violence – with consequences more terrifying than anyone could have imagined…

Joona Linna was getting used to being locked up in prison, with it’s day to day routines. Helping a felon escape custody ended his police career and saw him loose his freedom. When the Foreign Minister is murdered in his home, it sends the police and government into overdrive trying to find the killer. Especially when it looks like it might be a terrorist involved. The main concern was the possibility of more high-powered people being on his target list. Superintendent Saga Bauer knows they aren’t going to find the killer with such a tight time frame before the next killing, and she suggest they ask Joona for his help. Even though Joona is locked up, he might still be able to help. Hands down this is a fabulous book, and it’s easily worth the 5/5 Star rating.

From the start this book grips the imagination with the murder of the Swedish Foreign Minister, in front of a prostitute, by a weapon- articulate, masked person. There’s an agenda and it’s impossible to guess what until the plot starts to unfold. Even more impossible to guess the ‘who’ or the why.
Joona Linna is given day release from prison to assist in the investigation, as the murders ramp up. The only connection appears to be the school that the victims attended. He assists his previous colleague Saga Bauer, who is now assigned to the Security Police.
My reasons for dropping a star are, 1. Pointless, unnecessary sex scene ( why would an intelligent police woman have sex with an unknown male who puts his manhood through a hole in a toilet cubicle?) 2. The over-detailed descriptions of cruelty to rabbits (this may not appeal to some readers). Otherwise, highly recommended.
