The shoe is gorgeous, and I love Rockports for both style AND comfort - I have had numerous pairs of all different rockports over the years and this is the 3rd pair I own currently. The seller was great - no issues at all!
This shoe, however, runs small - I’d say as much as a size small. I can technically wear a 9.5 in most shoes if I get a wide size. Usually I save trouble and just get a 10, and that takes care of width and leaves maybe a little toe room. I do not like to get wide sizes usually as I have wide toes but a normal heel. A 10 almost always fits fine, and in some cases actually can be a bit too large once the leather stretches from wear. Never too small.
In the case of these shoes I got a 10, as always, and when they arrived I was so excited because I’ve been looking at them for over a year but usually don’t like to spend over $100 for shoes (got an amazon card for Christmas - yay!).
Well, they were TIGHT. I walked around a bit and they were painfully tight. Not likely to stretch to a comfortable fit ever tight. I tried thin dress socks, too - nope!
Returned them for a 10W, return was quick and painless (again, great seller).
They are STILL snug. Wearable but snug. Except the heel, which i can tell is going to slip and rub unless I wear fat socks. I still love them and so I guess fat socks it is. But just know that these run inordinately small and that is not the norm for rockports, in my experience. If you wear a wide, the half-size up trick will not cut it - but be warned that the wide is wide allover, not just the toes.
Lack of charisma can be fatal. as women, we need our shoes to perfectly translate our dressing mood for the day.
