If you're the reader who compares everything you pick up with Jane Austen or Dostoyevsky, you will probably overlook the true magic behind Lani Lynn Vale's books. These books are light on facts, often lack consistency, and have a degree of predictability - and yet the moment I finish one I can't wait for the next pre-ordered book to appear in my Kindle library! These stories are humorous and sweet, with enough action to leave me feeling like I've just watched an Indiana Jones type of "Saturday matinee". I am so grateful to this author for the simple joy she's given me. Her books have been the much needed balm for my soul through personal health issues, the loss of 2 of the closest people in my life, and major life upheavals. Happiness-invoking literature at its best!

Loved this next book in this series! Furious George Hoffman finds himself entranced by a beautiful woman watching his baseball match in the stands, when he gets a foul ball and it accidentally hits Wrigley Field! Yes, that’s her name and it’s a name given to her by the woman who loved the game as much as her children:) When George realises what he’s done, he races over to her and from that moment on, they are inseparable! They get married and that’s when things go downhill:(
A rollercoaster of emotions in this book, I felt Wrig’s pain but also felt her happiness! Loved this book and I hope we don’t have to wait long for the next instalment 😍 A definite must read book, series and author❣️

Quit your Pitchin is the 2nd book in the There’s no crying in Baseball series, Lani takes you on a journey that is full of love, heartbreak and laughs. This book took me on a rollercoaster of emotions leaving me laughing crying and screaming throughout.
With a name like Wrigley Field you’re destine to love Baseball, right? Wrong, Wrigley knew nothing about the love her mother had for game. Heading to her first game with her sister she meets ‘Furious George’ Hoffman he knocks her down, literally, with a wayward foul ball giving her an almighty black eye. Their romance is quick to start and when it all comes crashing down can they fix it or will they continue to strike out?
George has a temper, you can guess that by his famous nickname Furious George, he is driven and when it comes to Wrigley he is a big softy wanting to give her everything her heart desires. Wrigley is independent and sassy, she is quick to react leaving her to catch-up with whatever just left her mouth, which proves to be an issue in part 2 of the book.
George and Wrigley had an instant connection, they never held back their thoughts and desires for each other which lead them to some very heated moments together. Their sexual chemistry was never an issue for them, they put everything in and let the fireworks explode.
This was my first Lani Lynn Vale book and I feel like I have been put through the wringer, there was so much emotion and heart put into this book that I couldn’t put it down. Lani split the book into 2 parts which confused me at the start but by the end I understood why she did it. Having both George and Wrigley’s point of view was a fantastic edition to the book helping me understand what was going through both of their minds.
Quit your Pitchin’ is a great Baseball book and it is not short on drama throughout, I want to scream and bang their heads together trying to get them to see sense sometimes though, I personally enjoyed this book and that shows in that fact that I read it in 1 sitting.

Quit Your Pitchin' is the second book in this baseball series and it is actually the first in the series I have read. I quite enjoyed this book for the most part and I really though George was such a great character. I have liked Lani Lynn Vale's books after only just discovering her writing at the start of her Simple Man series. I have liked everything I have come across so far and can not wait to check out her other books.
George is a pretty popular baseball player. He put up with a lot family wise and Paparazzi wise. He is constantly bombarded by money hungry siblings and cameras! I seriously do not know how he does it. I thought he was such a beautiful character. They way he cares for Wrigley and Micah is just amazing. He has a heart of gold.
I questioned Wrigley in a couple of parts in the book. Why would she have done that to George? He was never in the wrong, so I don't understand her actions towards that. Micah just sounds like such an adorable little guy, I loved him.
The books was a great read, I would have loved if we could have had a look at how life was like through the books time jump. Part one was happy happy and then part two had me questioning a few things like why? What happened exactly? Why react like this? But as the story went on a few of those questions were answered. I found a lot of emotions in the second half of the book. I felt their want for each other, their tension. I loved how it ended. I can't wait to see what else is in store for this series!

I always enjoy books by this author, but this one fell short for me. I felt like we were missing a lot of information, and some major stuff really was not detailed well. I guess overall I felt that this book was rushed - I would have enjoyed having the story fleshed out a bit more.

Giving this one a 3/3.5
I only liked it in the first quarter but the rest of the story was very problematic to me after, the way the plot and story went and just over all me being frustrated half the time WITH EVERYBODY save for Grandma. And half the time sad.
I think this is the first book of Lani that I didn't really like. But still appreciate her work of course.
