Product description

Product Description

A month after she freed the fae, all Lizbet wants is for things to go back to normal. In addition to sporting a brand new set of useless wings, she has to cope with mood swings, headaches, and an ancient fae queen who wants to steal her boyfriend. Could things get any less normal than that?

The answer is yes: things can get a *lot* less normal than that. Throw in some controlling gnomes, a little brother who feels left out, plus a fae-worshipping ex-monk next door, and things can get crazy-less-than-normal fast. As Lizbet and her friends learn to use and control their magical powers, will they have what it takes to face down a new threat?

5.0 out of 5 stars There's no place like Gnome 17 August 2014
By Max Tomlinson - Published on Amazon.com

This series continues from Magic Unbound with Lizbet, now sporting wings (hope that’s not a spoiler alert) and your friends from the first book's jaunt into Scotland. Prominent is everyone’s favorite garden gnome Eamon (although he’s actually a gruagach) who has some good lines in this book full of great dialog, one of Jill Nojack’s strengths as a writer.

Gnome alert: There are gnomes.

Gnomes, according to Eamon, are stupid and, ‘magic and stupid is quite a bad combination’.

The story is not all fun and games, however, and takes a slightly darker turn than the first, which I personally liked.

For Arthurian buffs and fans of this kind of lit, there’s plenty of background. For the rest of us, fun facts: e.g. gnomes are flatulent.

I did not know that.

I also liked the clever chapter titles.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delightful 28 August 2014

I am really enjoying this "twist" of the Fae story of Morgana and Merlin.
I highly recommend it to people of all ages.
(Fortunately, it doesn't have those high doses of teenage angst nor those pathetic love triangles that I find so frustrating in many books.)

I can't wait till the next book is released! I'm lost to the land of Faery.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable quick read, International settings, and modern characters. 2 April 2014
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com

I have rounded up from 4.5 - the only shortcoming is that is a bit too short for the material it covers. In other words, I would have liked more of what there was. This is the second book - the first was free and was good enough that I chose to buy the second. Jill has done a good job of creating a set of characters and settings that will bring you back for more. These books are available in digital format and are geared toward YA - In retrospect that is probably what made this and the first book so enjoyable. They are quick reads with basic, modern characters.
3.0 out of 5 stars Felt like the author ran out of time and needed to ... 21 April 2016

Was a very detailed story until the last chapter then everything happened in a few paragraphs. Kind of a let down that the resolve of the story was so short and the book ended so abruptly. Felt like the author ran out of time and needed to meet a deadline and so just ended the issues of the characters with a creative idea but as stated, just a few paragraphs and end.

5.0 out of 5 stars However can someone have deep love but be so selfish 14 April 2015
By Angela W. - Published on Amazon.com

I really enjory the story. The background story to the characters are very interest. I only wish we explore Queen Fae futher. How can someone have deep love but be so selfish. SPOILER Thomas deserve better from the ELVES. I like how the ELVES are not the ANGELS of the story. Great series looking foward the book 4.
