I was very lucky to get an early copy of this beautiful tale of a beautiful and exciting tale of the early life of Catherine the Great...back when she was just a poor German Princess named Sophia. The main thing to remember that this IS fiction... we see the life of Sophie as imagined by the brilliant mind of Sherry D. Ficklin. And oh what a tale it is. Love, betrayal, adventure and hard decisions that have no right answer... Russian Court is an exercise in survival of the fittest and Queen of Someday is a beautiful start to the journey of an innocent young girl growing into one of the greatest leaders of all time.

Well Sherry Ficklin has really done it this time. I was lucky enough to get my hands on an ARC and just couldn't put it down. Loosely based on the history of Catherine the Great this YA historical novel hooks you from the first page. Fans of the tv show Reign will devour this series and with good reason. The characters are vibrant and demand you give them attention, the setting is royal and the history is ......... Well there's some history in there ..... But if I wanted accurate I would read a history book. Think more along the lines of the Tudors than a documentary and you won't be disappointed. An easy 5 out of 5 stars from me!! Bring on book 2!!! --Goodreads
