Hands up if you have had a dodgy online dating experience (raises hand. Maybe one day I will tell you about the guy who was waaaaay too excited about his job in the viscera room at a pet food factory).

Ava and Patrick's story is sweet and funny and at times frustrating. But most of all it was full of hope. Hope that things will fall into place. Hopes that this could be it, this could be the one.

The best thing about our lovelies? They are real. They are relatable. They have their own body image issues, they aren't all 8 packs you can crack coconuts on, they aren't all perky boobs and perfects bums. They have wobbly bits, and I for one love them even more for it.

There were times that I wanted to punch someone through my kindle, I laughed, I cried, but most of all I cheered on two amazing characters finding themselves and maybe love as well.

This is only Miss Traynor's second book, but I will definitely be reading more as they are released in the future. She has quickly become one of my one-click, must read authors.

Now I am impatiently awaiting book 2 in the Time series.

What an absolutely awesome book this was… I laughed… I cried… I snorted (yes I really did)…. It’s a story about online dating ….. We meet Ava, she runs her own business and hasn’t had a good time in the love department. She’s had her eye on the “cute guy” from the gym but hasn’t had a chance to speak to him without making it obvious. Her neighbour tells her if she hasn’t got a date in a certain amount of time she’s signing her up for “Cupids Mission” the online dating service.

We meet Patrick, he owns his own restaurant, he’s studying Business, so doesn’t have a lot of time to met girls. His brother signs him up to “Cupids Mission” too.

Ava keep getting a lot of “cock shots” and instantly block people, she’s just about had enough when a message from TrickyRicky comes through. She decides to chat with him and after a couple of weeks they decide to meet.

What I really like about Ava and Patrick is that they are “REAL PEOPLE”….. they are not skinny barbie dolls they have a bit of meat on their bones…… they are believable …….

We follow Ava and Patrick along on their story when they finally, and yes I say finally meet….. there are a lot of dramas and problems that happen on the day when they are due to meet. If something could go wrong… it did go wrong……

Ms Traynor’s sense of humour comes through in this book. This book is a romantic comedy and on
I would highly recommend. It’s the first book in The Time Series and I literally cannot wait to get my hands on Book 2.

4 Stars for A Quarter to Twelve.

I should start off by saying that this wasn't my first Josephine Traynor novel. After reading Rock Bottom and loving it, I was excited to see what was next for Josephine Traynor. A Quarter to Twelve didn’t disappoint. This was a really funny, sweet and sexy romance. I laughed a lot throughout this book. I didn’t want to put this book down. The plot was good but I just thought that things happened a bit quickly. If you’re ok with that then you’ll love this book even more. This book has the perfect amount of sweet scenes and a little mix of drama that keeps you interested. I loved watching the friendship build and the wait to find out who TrickyRicky is.

Both Ava and Patrick have great personalities and they are both struggling with insecurities that make them relatable and real. I thought this was a cute funny romance that puts you in a good mood. I think this would be a great book to read if you were just wanting to read a lighthearted sweet romance to put you in a great mood. I would recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars an adorable must read! 16 March 2017
By M, The book reviewer - Published on

As I sit here writing this review, I can’t help the smile that graces my face, a smile that hardly wavered from the first word to the last. This book was full of such amazing high moments, quirky moments, endearing moments, and super sexy moments, that even those times that were meant to be sad or those times when the big bad would strike, I knew I had nothing to worry about. I sank my teeth into this book and devoured each word in one quick sitting. Josephine Traynor wrote such lovable characters mixed with a fun and exciting story line, you would be foolish to pass this up.

One of my favorite things about this book is that the female lead, Ava, is not perfect to the outside world. She’s not a tall, gorgeous blonde, she’s not a size zero, and she doesn’t have the perfect familial relationship. But she’s strong, fierce, smart, and real. I love that she’s just herself, making her perfect in her own special way. Yes, she’s been burned, and not just by a harrowing ex, but her mother as well.

The same can be said about Patrick. In his own amiable way, he has this sexy charm to him that you wouldn’t otherwise see in a leading male character and it works in his favor so well. You can’t help but fall for the man who, proven time and time again, will go out of his way for ‘his girl at the gym.’

I adored the circumstances in their meeting (oh you saucy minxes, Chris and Charlotte!), the perfect imperfections of the two main characters and a fun and sexy story that will hold your attention with every page.

I’ve already one-clicked the next book, impatiently waiting for the next story to unfold! Now to sit back and twiddle my thumbs, counting down to Four O’Clock

5.0 out of 5 stars Real Characters, Real Obstacles, Real Love 28 February 2017

Author Josephine Traynor knows how to make a reader smile. I mean, really smile. Big and happy and satisfied that no matter what obstacles are put in love's way, they can be overcome.

I adored Ava and Patrick - these two characters are *real* with flaws and passions, insecurities and bodies-in-progress. The series of events these two experience as they try to connect is worth every frustration and misunderstanding. I groaned and sighed and rooted for them because love is worth it.

Congratulations, Ms. Traynor, on another wonderful book for us readers to enjoy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Relatable Read!! 26 February 2017

Ava and Patrick are both trying to get back into the dating scene after heartbreak. They decide to give online dating a shot. Their first encounter was a doozy. Anything that could go wrong did go wrong for the two. I couldn't help but laugh at how things played out. Eventually fate gives them a break and they finally get to meet. What I did like about the couple was that they both had insecurity issues. They were both relatable and it was a nice break from the “hourglass figure” and “washboard abs” stereotypes. It's nice to read about characters you can identify with!

This is my second time reading a book by Josephine Traynor. I previously read Rock Bottom and it's nice when an author grows and can switch gears with their storytelling. We had some very funny moments, sweet moments and real moments. The story held my attention and the plot was good. My only issue was everything happened a little too fast for my liking. I would have liked the characters to slow down and get to know each other more. With that being said I do look forward to the next book in this series!

I knew absolutely nothing about this book until I met the author! I really enjoyed the story of Patrick and Ava and their several attempts at meeting up. Both had been unlucky in love and met on a dating site. You wouldn't believe the trouble they had actually getting together, it was quite funny at times. Looking forward to reading the next book in this series. Another promising Aussie author has arrived

A witty heartfelt book about not only two people looking for romance after having their hearts broken before but it's also about fate and coming together when the universe says it's the right time. It's also about body issues and it's not just women who deal with it. Loved the story from start to end!
