Product Description

Following an accident injuring her dad, twenty-four year old Leigh Storm returns home to the town she was once so desperate to escape.
It is only a matter of hours before she runs into Max 'Manwhore' Morgan. Dark eyed and dangerous to her heart, he is the very last person she wants to see. It might have been four years since she saw him last, but there's no denying the chemistry between them is as potent as ever. Max makes it clear he isn't about to let her run again, even if he is the one thing Leigh vowed to herself she would never date: a street racer.
After racing tore apart her own family and left a path of destruction in its wake, Leigh decided long ago that it is not the life she wants for herself. But when a wager gone wrong threatens her dad's livelihood, Leigh must go against everything she believes in.
This time there's more at stake on the quarter mile than just the family business— she's risking her heart as well.

Reviewed while moving abroad so I am updating as I go...

I love fast cars ( not that I can change a tyre lol) my fave films are fast n furious and of course the American muscle cars were the choice for me, so I was glad to see your heroine drove a 69 charger! Oh and of course a Harley ... My choice of bike!

So this books had me engrossed since page one.

I can understand the reluctance that Leigh Storm aka 'Storm' has to give her heart to Max 'Manwhore' Morgan, who was her old crush before she left home, but now she's back in town due to her dad being in hospital and the attraction is still smoking under the surface. Max doesn't make it easy for himself, both in the past and present. I'd be the same as Leigh and make him work at it, he's too cocky with the barbie dolls hanging off his hood to make any good impression on Leigh.

But Max is determined to make Leigh his, and although at first he tries his usual cocky manner, he eventually realises that he needs to up his game and prove to Leigh that she's got him all wrong.

If you love cars, hot men and feisty females then you will enjoy this book.

As Leigh and Max begin to work out their relationship, a challenge appears in the form of a high stakes race. .. and as Max, Leigh and her cousin work together to create the perfect car to save the future of the garage things finally fall into place for the pair. I loved this story, its got the right amount of excitement of the cars and the quarter mile strip, as well as sweet romance and snarky humour.

I hope that Jenny has more of these stories in store for us.

This is my first read of Ms Siegel’s work and I have to say – she did a first rate job. The story was engaging, the characters had the right amount of appeal to me and the tension was off the charts.

I will say, I was shocked when I first started reading this – I had pegged the persons’ point of view all wrong. Leigh Storm is a force to be reckoned with. She has to return home to her injured father and comes face to face with the man that still manages to get under her skin.

The tension between her and Max drips off the page. She has put up many walls to protect herself and one by one, he manages to tear them down, proving that he’s the man for her.

I read this book in one sitting and really enjoyed the author’s style. The other thing that I really enjoyed was the sense of dread and that something big was going to come. I knew what was going to happen but even still, my heart was racing and I may have given a fist pump.

Quarter Mile Hearts is a great read and I will definitely be looking into this author’s other works.

I was given a copy of this book for my honest opinion.

QMH is a fast-paced ride full of chemistry, angst, and what ifs. Leigh Stone returns home dead set on avoiding Max 'manwhore' Morgan... but little does she know, if refuses to let her run... again!

Will they find love on the quarter mile or will love bite the dust?

Leigh Storm comes from a small American town whose main source of entertainment is racing cars at the Quarter Mile strip. Muscle cars are a favourite, and Leigh is no stranger to an engine as she is the daughter of an ex-racer and garage owner, and niece to man who lost his life doing what he loved best.

Her vow is to never get involved with a racing driver, she's seen to much heartache. Not only did her Uncle die, but her mother left her father because racing got in the way of their relationship.

When her dad has an accident, she is forced to return to her home town that she tried to escape from 4 years prior.

Max Morgan is a racer with a reputation for loving the ladies, and other than a one night stand between them the night before she left, they have a tense relationship which involves lots of banter and insults flying between the two.

Max was gutted when she left, and despite never thinking he was good enough for her, he decides to persuade her to stay - he's doesn't want to let this second chance pass him by.

When a high stake bet goes wrong, Leigh has to race again to save her dad's garage and she is reminded of why she loved racing in the first place.
_ _ _ _

This was an OK story, and I feel that with a bit more character development and more detail, it could have been a lot more gripping. For instance, I never really knew what had happened to Leigh in the four years she'd been away, what did she do with her time, how had she grown as a person? Why did Max think she was out of his league? I had a lot of unanswered questions whilst reading.

I think the premise was great, but it slightly missed the mark for me and the lack of depth resulted in it being just an OK read for me. If you are looking for a light NA read then this might be your bag.

This is a standalone, New Adult Romance, told in Leigh's POV.

HASH(0xb2543c0c) out of 5 stars I wasn’t Leigh’s greatest fan, and that’s because she was unforgivably rude ... 29 July 2015

In the beginning of the book, I wasn’t Leigh’s greatest fan, and that’s because she was unforgivably rude to her dad. I get that she was upset and scared, but I don’t think it excuses her behavior, plus she never apologized. But anyways, that my problem.

Her rudeness and ridiculous stubbornness aside, Leigh is just a regular girl trying to find her place in the world. She does make a lot of mistakes, and jumps quickly to conclusions, but the best part about her is that she does grow up…eventually. She learns to be nice, yes nice, and be more personable. She also learns that it’s okay to listen to one’s own heart and do whatever it is that makes one happy.

As for Max Morgan, he too makes mistakes, and learns from them, as well. He does a whole lot of growing up, but thank God, not at the same pace as Leigh, as that would have just been too bloody annoying. I LOVED that Max was very patient with Leigh and never pushed her into doing anything. He also wasn’t ashamed of his feelings for her. Perhaps the best part about him was that he NEVER gave up on Leigh

As for the chemistry between Max and Leigh, it was beyond incredible and they did have quite some sexy times ;)

I would have liked to have known more about Leigh’s life in the 4 years between her leaving, and coming back to, town. I also would have liked it if a certain family, the ones that inspire creepy feelings in people, could have been dealt with more.

But all those aside, I really enjoyed this book and look for more from Ms Siegel….especially Aaron and Beth’s story…they’re just too cute :)

HASH(0xb2543fcc) out of 5 stars Racing with a love story right to the end. 7 July 2015

Format: Kindle Edition
Leigh Storm knows Racing, its been a part of her life forever and its in her blood. But Leigh also knows the downsides to racing, the pain, the fear, and the discontent it can cause. With that knowledge, Leigh leaves home. Then her father is in an accident, and Leigh finds herself not only back home, but also falling right back into the life she had before. Complete with the race driver she's avoided for the past years.

Max hides his true self from everyone because he is also hiding a broken heart. Nobody would guess he's pining for one woman, he hides is so well. That is until said woman comes back to town and he knows he's got one chance at making this work. But Max has an uphill battle to fight to win over Leigh's heart and let her give up her fears.

Leigh and Max are wonderful characters, they are strong willed and have deep convictions, they also have absolutely no control over their feelings for the other. Whether they are trying to annoy, piss off, or love, they put their hearts into it. The banter is delicious and this book shows how love springs hate springs love again.

Quarter Mile Hearts was a quick read, pulling you in with the action and adventure of racing and keeping you there with the passion of two people fighting not to give in, even though that's a lost cause. The fears are real and portrayed in such a way you can totally understand why Leigh acts teh way she does, but also you are rooting for her to get over it as well.

Leigh Stone is one badass chick. She loves American Muscle cars, motorcycles and even knows how to fix them. The fact that she can pretty much out race any man, just makes her that much cooler.

After street racing basically left her family tattered and torn she vows never to date a racer. She moves away to live a mundane safe boring life. One phone call from the hospital has Leigh rushing back to her hometown to help her father.

Leigh was running from more than just racing. She was running from Max.

Through the years she has managed to avoid this sexy as hell racer but not this time. This time he's everywhere. He helps run her dad's shop, is friends with her friends and still holds the key to Leighs heart.

I love American muscle cars and the men who know how to treat them. This book brought me back to the days spent tooling in the garage on my brothers 68' Chevelle SS Malibu daydreaming about the next high school drag race.

This was a fun read. Leigh is sassy and sarcastic. Max is sexy and knows how to drive anything.... including Leigh. From the start I couldn't put this book down and look forward to reading more from this author.
