Fitting in has never been something fifteen-year-old Hadley Asher ever aspired to. Three schools in one year brings unwanted and unwelcome attention to a girl like Hadley who only wants to blend in.
After her family moves from Buffalo, NY to the small, upper-class town of Blue Valley in Central New York, Hadley's next door neighbor Lana quickly befriends her, the two becoming nearly inseparable. However, Paxton Jamison, Lana's stepbrother and the boy with the brilliant blue eyes, has to step in to help Hadley deal with Lana, who is hard to handle on a good day.
When an unprecedented scandal and tragedy strike the small community, Hadley becomes its focus, its target. As a result, the girl who hides in books and wants to blend in with the background finds breathing is nearly impossible.

If you haven't read this book then I totally recommend it. It's a book that left me confused, friendships, alcohol, mental illness, angst and emotional. It's that type of book you never expect to sit with you. I became absorbed with understanding what bullying is all about and especially being judged but you also feel the love and then the teenage drama and so much more this story has to offer. I don't want to not ignore what is going to happen but it's a Teen book and one that is really a good read. It left me crying so it's so good that maybe this author will bring Book 2 next. I think it does need cause I'm curious about Hadley and Pax. But it's good to see new characters Hudson and Ash.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Powerful Read 8 August 2015
By Elizabeth Clinton - Published on Amazon.com

Where do you even begin to write a book that truly touches every emotion that you have.
Not only is this Ally Derby's first book it most definitely will not be her last and I truly can not wait to see what more she gives us.
This book every person young and old should read.
The emotional impact this book definitely will have you thinking about the way people treat one another and what truly words can do.
This is Hadley's story one that will take you on an incredible ride to show what one mistake people think you made can spiral so out of control that your life can change in a instance.
Another incredible character is Pax not only does he see the real Hadley but also becomes her cheerleader and is always the one who tells her "Breathe" he is most definitely someone that you want in your corner who can help you right all the wrongs and stands by her no matter what.
There is so much more to say about this book but I think everyone needs to experience it themselves and see that it will definitely show you never to take life for Granted.

Granted. (less)

5.0 out of 5 stars Raw and Real. The dangers of social media. 2 September 2015

Amazing story from these authors! Ally and Jacqueline have written a book that tells this heart-wrenching journey of a girl who was basically in the wrong place at the wrong time. I went through every possible emotion while reading this. I laughed, I cried, I was pissed off, and I was anxious. Although this is not the normal genre of book I gravitate to, once I began REALLY reading it, I could not put it down. I have also given the book to my 14-year old to read. It's a raw and real story that all teenagers should be reading! Way to go ladies! Can't wait to read what comes next!

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is a good read for all ages 13 August 2015

This book is a good read for all ages. Ally and Jacqueline did an excellent job with the story line. I could not put this book down...bullying is real, and this book made it "real" to me. I cried (I don't cry easily)...and I wish that this could be a Hallmark movie so it would be seen by ADULTS and kids that need to learn what bullying is all about. Great job Ally and Jacqueline!

5.0 out of 5 stars WHOA!!!!! 2 September 2015

This is so so much more than the typical high school angst book!! The story took some turns that I didn't see coming. While the story had some difficult parts to read, however they were crucial to the story and Hadleys journey. I love Hadley and her quiet strength. I hope there will be another book!!!
