5.0 out of 5 stars 4.5 star Hot Hockey Hunk stars, can't wait to get more Sami & Matt 24 July 2016
By BethyMac76 - Published on Amazon.com

I am a lover of hockey and a huge lover of Tara Brown's writing so when I see she is writing a new hockey Rom Com, I get very excited. I loved Roommates, Brady and Nat's story was so good. Puck Buddies does include small parts of them but in this book their story hasn't even happened yet so Puck Buddies can definitely be read as a standalone but make sure you read both or you will be missing out on some very sweet and sexy Hockey hunks.

Matt and Sami both come from rich families, but it's rich only in money, they are poor when it comes to being shown love as well as love between their parents. They have lots of friends but they are two very lonely people. Matt has always been intrigued with Sami Ford but he has a rule, he doesn't touch any girl a friend or fellow player has touched and Sami has dated several of his friends. But both Sami and Matt share a connection, one that is bigger than they both realize and they have chemistry that they both can't deny. But when these two come together, they tend to not always get along and usually end up screaming at each other. But somehow they just seem to connect on a different level from everyone else.

I really loved this book. It's the first part of their story and we get to see how these two come together to know each other and all the ups and downs they seem to go through, mostly due to lack of communication. I really loved Matt. He wasn't the typical Hockey jock, he comes from a well to do family who have no love or desire for him to play hockey, they actually frown on it. He also is one that doesn't join in with the PF fun the rest of his teammates do. And last he is kind of infatuated with Sami, and although he keeps screwing up with her, he has the best intentions, he just doesn't always show and communicate that well to her.

Sami is a bit of a spoiled brat but she may have money but her life hasn't been easy. She is actually really screwed up when it comes to guys and love thanks to her parents and seeks help from her shrink on a regular basis, basically has her on speed dial. She at times was a bit childish but I wouldn't expect less from her being a spoiled princess that seems to only get the attention of her parents when she lands in the news for something she has done.

From the very start you could see these two that although they were a bit opposite of each other, there were so much alike and fit well together. and when these two connected and did the nasty, it was totally off the charts hot. I would gladly take a side of Matt anyday.

Overall another really fabulous rom com hockey hunk romance from Tara Brown and although I am left needing more and not sure when we will get it, I am partly glad we don't have to say good bye to these two just yet, there is so much to their story and I can't wait to read it.

4.0 out of 5 stars What The Puck? Can't wait for Book 2! 27 July 2016
By Kristen Piersa - Published on Amazon.com

I never read Tara Brown's books before. But when I saw this on sale for 99 cents, I thought why not?! I love trying out new authors. I'm happy to say that Tara Brown did NOT disappoint.

I loved the rivalry, the tensions and the fights between the couple. However.. As I reached the end, I felt more and more upset for the male character. I hated what the female character was doing. The book ends on a cliffhanger. It's not a standalone book. I thought it was. So this means, I gotta sit here and wait and stew until the second book, hoping she will treat him better and that he slaps some sense into her. I hope that Tara Brown won't make me wait for another six months.

The writing is beautiful and the story is pretty good, but don't expect a standalone book with a HEA. And be prepared to feel angry, upset and confused. Sometimes I think books that make you feel any kind of emotion is better than a book that makes you feel lackluster. If you're the same, this book will be good for you. Just be prepared to say "WHAT THE F***?!" often.

5.0 out of 5 stars What?! 24 July 2016

It was a cliffhanger to end all cliffhangers. A great read, and I actually sort of cried. I don't cry, but this book made me feel feelings. Real ones. Now I'm going to be obsessively checking for when the rest of their story comes out. If they don't end up together, I'm going to be mad. If they do end up together, I'm going to be mad.

On the actual writing side of things, the story is outstanding. I like how it flashes back from Roommates. It's the writer intentionally stringing us along, begging us readers to beg for more. And we do! I felt like the entire book was a story told personally to me; it was that well written. Props! I can't wait for the next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Omg SAMI!!!! I need book 2!!!! 25 July 2016

All up can say is.....I LOVE Tara's books!!! She's my girl crush..lol...Anyways...
If you read Roommates, you fell in love with Sami. Well this is her and Matt's story. Sami is the rich, but she's somewhat down to earth. Being rich, she's always in the tabloids. Yet most of the bad stuff never happened, like going to rehab. Her armor is tough, that is until she runs into Matt. A kiss to die for, penetrates her shield. Leaving her wondering and dreaming.

Matt is finally on his way! Signed with the NHL's New York Rangers, his dreams are coming true. But thoughts of that kiss, plague him. And to top it off, he has a tendency of putting his foot in his mouth when it comes to Sami.

Both want the other, but they have to figure out how to get past the past. With parents like both have, neither know what normal is. But a jealous act will impact the relationship. It's a full blown brawl that will make any in hockey fight look like a really party!!

5.0 out of 5 stars I loved it! 27 August 2016

Another great story. I knew going in that Saki's story was going to be epic and I was not disappointed. On the surface Matt and Sami lead similar lives but it is person under the mask that makes us who we really are. Can Matt and Sami get to their truths to have a meaningful relationship? Will their lives and statuses allow them to truly see what is important in life?

This was amazingly written, sharing both points of view. Beverly is my new favorite character!
