Hard concepts but easy to read
Reviewed in the United States on 11 October 2017Verified Purchase
For a textbook that appears to be extremely intimidating, I'll be honest and say it isn't too difficult to read! Sometimes, I can struggle with reading comprehension when the material is complicated. This book seems to do a great job of really explaining the hard concepts and provides case studies to put the reading to "real-life" client scenarios. Well done!

Excellent textbook for mental health professionals!
Reviewed in the United States on 10 June 2019Verified Purchase
This is my third semester teaching a psychopharmacology course for mental health professionals ( graduate level school counsellors, school psychologists, and LPCC students) and I was not happy with the prior texts used due to the amount of supplementary reading I needed to assign to broaden their understanding beyond a straight medical model. I could not be happier with this book! This text does provide a very strong scientific base but then also addresses the psychological, cultural and social phenomenon we must understand when working with children and families, as well as medical professionals, in supporting treatment and that may include medication management.

Taking "Psychopharmacology" with Dr. Ingersoll. Great man, great book. I really like how this book is written, it makes very technical information much easier to understand.
