Product Description

Provocative is the sequel to the #1 Erotica Bestseller Tempting and should not be read as a standalone.

Coming home to a quiet, dark house.
Meals by myself, because she was already done.
Excuses and apologies, they were never enough.
But even with that, when I touched her—when she arched under me and pulled me deeper— we couldn’t get back to where we needed to be.
Where we used to be.
It was all frustration.
Loneliness.
Loss.

Because even though she was no longer my student, the chemistry was always there.
Adele and I loved each other.
We thought we were unshakable.

But love isn’t always enough.

It wasn’t enough when I constantly disappointed her.
It wasn’t enough when loss cleaved us in two.
And when she left me, love was not enough.

She didn’t know yet that I’d never stop fighting for her.
But she would.

**Author’s note: Let’s be real clear that this is BOOK TWO of a duet, and you’re going to want to read Tempting before you read this one. Adele and Nathan started their story in that book, and you’ll get the same sex, fighting, and cursing that you did in the first. But if you want it to make sense, read Tempting first. If any of that offends you, please avoid them both.**

Reading order for the Tempting series
1. Tempting (Adele & Nathan Part One)
2. Beguiling (Scarlet & Leo - Standalone)
3. Provocative (Adele & Nathan Part Two)
4. Addicted - coming October 2016 (Standalone)

Absolutely loved it. Loved the storyline, and just like Tempting, it was a good balance of emotion, passion and sex. One of my favourite series!☺

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 Szilling Hot Stars 25 July 2016

OMG this book!! Captivating from the first page! It’s unbelievable how much I loved Provocative. It was absolutely Alex’s best book yet! Now if only I can find the right words to convey just how awesome this book was. Provocative is one of those books that reaches right into your heart and your soul. It’s tumultuous, it’s emotional as well as gut-wrenching…. you see the disaster coming but you just can’t look away. Gah!!! The feels from this book will rock you to the deepest most hidden places in your core. ~sigh~

I fell in love with Alex Lucian’s writing when I read Tempting, the first book of the Tempting duet. Tempting is a professor/student romance that will totally blow your mind. Not only that but it also pushes the boundaries of a professor/student relationship. Adele and Nathan’s relationship was passionate, physical, and completely insatiable. They love and they love hard and damn if they are not going to find a way to make this work.

In Provocative Nathan has taken his dream job at Harvard. Away from Northern, away from his Dad and away from scrutinizing eyes. He and Adele are settling into a new routine with her going to classes and his teaching. Nathan’s hours are long. Adele is alone. A lot! She is struggling to keep that hot as hell connection with Nathan alive. Where loneliness becomes the norm and missed meals, late nights begin adding up she fights back. Fighting with the one way that always see to reconnect and ground them… their physicality.

Amidst these struggle comes a life altering challenge. Challenging the very existence of normality. One that leaves Adele frightened and scared but at the same time find Nathan elated. Then almost as quickly they are struck with a devastating loss. One that sets their life into a desperate tail spin. Promises that were made are broken, misunderstandings abound and threaten to destroy the life they had built together.

Don’t get me wrong, Adele and Nathan are ever bit a hot and explosive as always. Their sizzling hot chemistry still rocks the Richter Scales. They are in a crisis. It’s time for them to dig deep and do a little soul searching.

Provocative is an intense and often time breathe holding read. The suspense of where Alex is taking Adele and Nathan to next kept me on the edge of my seat…. not to mention knots in my stomach. Provocative truly runs the whole gamut of emotions be prepared for a bit of everything.

Definitely a MUST READ!!

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS SERIES ENCOMPASSES EVERYTHING A SUPERB EROTIC ROMANCE SHOULD BE! 22 July 2016

It's not a secret that I'm in love with Alex Lucian's writing. I find it more than addicting, to me it's as close to perfection as you can get. I love the way this author tells a story. I'm hooked by it. The depth of feels, the sensuality and heat, the way his words weave together to create the most vivid and intoxicating scenes, it's magic. I could read these books over and over and over again. I just love them.

That said, I need to be honest. I had been dreading the moment I would have to read Provocative. Now let me explain! You see, I loved Tempting. It was my favorite read of 2015. BRILLIANT, SEXY, JAW DROPPING. The best Student Teacher romance I've read since the Gabriel's Inferno trilogy by Sylvain Reynard. Tempting pushed all my buttons, it thrilled and hurt me as a reader and when I got done reading that book, I was practically vibrating with energy from the story. It was everything. And to me, Tempting felt complete. The story itself felt whole. I was truly happy where Nathan and Adele left off. And I felt as though I had closure. Sure, I had a question or two about Elias, but nothing that a novella or an Elias book couldn't answer. So simply put, I didn't need more of Nathan and Adele's story. And I was very concerned that Provocative would RUIN my Tempting buzz.

Now I know that that sounds crazy, but there have been series where the sequels have killed my feelings for the first book. It's really has happened. Moments where the author was trying too hard to keep the story going. I had no idea what more these two characters could go through. In Tempting they went through A LOT.

A FREAKING LOTTTTTTTTTTTT!

And here we were again, another trip down angst lane. I was scared. So, when I got Provocative on my Kindle, I sat on it. And sitting on an Alex Lucian book, without diving in right away, is akin to torture. Finally, after several days, I couldn't hold off anymore. I knew I needed to read it, but most importantly I was ready to see what we were going to get.

I sat down and from the first words I was swept up in the story. All those feels I had for the characters returned with a fiery vengeance. I read Provocative in ONE SITTING. I could feel my heart slamming against my chest in an array of emotions--excitement, happiness, unease. If I thought I couldn't love Adele and Nathan any more than I already did, I was wrong! So wrong. Nathan both infuriated me and made me fall in love deeper. He and Adele are explosively hot together and in the sequel it's down right intoxicating. The intimacy between these two characters is so all-consuming, you FEEL it everywhere.

Both characters had a lot of growing up to do. They had some very devastating landmines to wade through, and recover from. The angst slayed me. I'm pretty sure I cried enough to fill a couple coffee mugs with my pain. **Hahaha.**Gut wrenching. This book felt real. I have actually lived some of Adele's pain, going through some of the same things she did. Heart breaking.

The relationship growth between Adele and Nathan hurts in the best way. You can feel Adele's loneliness, feel the urgency she has for Nathan, and he for her. Both of them have to transition into living with each other and they've both got such different habits, it's something they both need to get used to. With Adele in school and Nathan teaching at Harvard, they're busy and quality time with each other is taking a hit.

There is SO MUCH THAT HAPPENS in this book. And I don't want to spoil it in a review. Just know this, I fell deeper and harder for Nathan and Adele. What they went through to get to the end was really intense. This sequel was everything it needed to be and so much more. I felt as though it brought depth to this series. Alex is a strong writer. I can't fangirl enough over the actual writing, it just SPEAKS to me. I LOVE it. And with Provocative, there's a rawness to the emotions that hit me hard.

Overall, I cannot recommend Tempting, Provocative and Beguiling enough. This is a series I want to force on everyone. It's an ULTIMATE favorite of mine that's not only sexy, but also emotionally explosive in depth and heart. Adele is a FIERCE character who carries herself with a confidence that's down right enthralling, and Nathan is a man who has swept me off my feet time and time again. Forbidden, sensual, heart pounding, electrifying, this series encompasses EVERYTHING a superb erotic romance should be. I just LOVE it.

Keep your box of tissues handy because you will definitely need them!
Provocative (Tempting #3) brings us back to Nathan and Adele as they're now living together and trying very hard to make their unconventional relationship work. Not only is Nathan Easton twelve years older than Adele, he is also her former professor, a fact which led to a great deal of angst in the first story, Tempting.
In order to protect their reputations and Adele's scholarship with Northern University, Nathan has resigned his position with that institution and is now teaching at Harvard. A demanding job, he is unable to spend as much time with Adele as he used to and they're each feeling the strain of this new development. Not to mention trying to learn to live together comfortably in the home that Nathan once shared with his deceased wife and to make allowances for each others personal habits, a reality that we all nust face once we are living with someone. Instead of openly communicating with each other about their dissatisfaction and their fears they continue to drift further apart as one real life blow after another threatens to permanently sever the bond between them.
Provocative is an extremely well-written story filled with emotion and visceral descriptions of life events that will leave your heart aching. Both Nathan and Adele are well-developed, complex characters that you can easily relate to, a fact that makes these stories such a pleasure to read. Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Provocative indeed 24 July 2016

When Alex Lucian first introduced you to Nathan and Adele in Tempting (The Tempting Series Book 1), it appeared that theirs would be a happy ending. It's a good thing, then, that Lucian is such an astute writer, one who realizes that these two are going to face some challenges.

For one thing, there is the age gap. It doesn't bother Adele, but Nathan clearly has some sensitivity there. He doesn't want anyone to know the truth about how his and Adele's relationship began, even though he is proud of her and proud of his love for her. Lucian effectively and adeptly captures Nathan's conflict, showing you how this man can love so deeply yet feel reticent about it.

Given the Daddy Issues that both Adele and Nathan face, it isn't surprising that they each suffer some residual effects. They combat those effects differently, Adele preferring to face her conflicts directly whereas Nathan is one who ignores today what he surely will have to deal with tomorrow. They also need to learn to communicate with each other.

Lucian serves up immediate strife, giving Nathan and Adele something they must address together. This test undoubtedly will determine the success of their relationship, forcing each to learn how to work with, partner with, and talk with the other. Adele must learn what Nathan needs from her, and he must learn what she needs from him. Then, of course, they must decide if they want to fulfill those needs.

Throughout the book, Lucian treats you to some spectacular sexy times. As Adele and Nathan realize, they do some of their best communicating with their naughty bits. The challenge, then, is communicating when they aren't rocking the headboard.

There are times you will worry for Adele and Nathan. There are times when Alex Lucian will rip your heart out for those two. There are times you will need to strap on your vibrator because you WILL HAVE NEEDS. And there are times when you feel so warm and gooey that you will believe that everything will be all right, not just for these fictional characters but for the rest of us, too.

Provocative is a word typically associated with sexual arousal, but it also means, according to Merriam-Webster, "causing discussion, thought, argument, etc." The events unfolding in this novel most certainly do cause discussion, thought, and argument between Nathan and Adele every bit as much as sexual response. In order for them to have that happy ending, though, they will need to discuss, think, and argue.

And this is why Alex Lucian is a writer whose books I enjoy reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars A top read of 2016!!! 24 July 2016

Man, oh, man, oh, man!! I honestly have NO IDEA where to start. Holy s***, this book rocked me to my core! When I first saw that we were getting more from Nathan & Adele I think I squealed a little, then came the anxiety of what on earth would happen between them and wowzas a lot freaking happened between them!

My naughty professor and his teasing temptress stole my heart in Tempting. In Provocative they obliterated it, before rendering me speechless with their love and devotion. The forbidden fantasy became an overwhelming, heart breaking romance that drained me, pushed all my emotions to the brink and then fully claimed me!

I didn't think I could love them anymore to be honest. I was so scared that this book would do something to make me not like Adele. Don't ask me why just her, I have no idea. It was just a funny feeling. But my word! I freaking LOVE her, even more so now! If possible her character development in this book brought her on SO MUCH MORE! Alex pushed her to the limits in this book, with a devastating story line that packed a punch in the feels department! But she grew, a lot. And man, I wanted to fist bump her on a few occasions, as well as hug her and cry with her.
Nathan once again made me all tingly. He's sin, wrapped in a delicious hot package. But I'll admit he made me ansty when reading this book, I was on the edge of my seat at times not knowing where their story was going.

However, it went in the best possible direction, a fantastic direction that lit up a pathway to bookworm heaven. A heaven I don't want to descend from!!
