Best shifter Jagger is acting sheriff of Ragtown who is surprised by a woman who tells him that she is his mate. He has no intention of ever finding a mate because of his past.

Rowan arrives in Ragtown after getting a message about her intended mate, only to be refused by him. Rowan had discovered that her father had used her as collateral and lost while gambling. Starting a new life and business growing food and fruit , while ignoring calls from her father.

The wolves are causing problems as they attempt to take over the town, using something that no one can identify. Even after they bring warned that they may not be able to control being that they are treating badly without it fighting back.

Lured back home Rowan falls into a trap. Jagger is with her, together with her best friend Nikita. Then the truth is revealed. The shifter to whom he owes money had planned it, plus Rowans's mother was a shifter who was unable to shift. Another great story. Who will be next?
