Product Description

***Author's note: this book is a reissue of Peyton's Doll--Part One. The cover and title have changed, but the story remains the same***

She was just what the doctor didn't order.

1000 years after Earth has been devastated by a viral plague, the few survivors turn to genetic engineering and advanced robotics to ensure the future of the human race. But not everyone is happy with artificial life living amongst humans, least of all Peyton Chase, a doctor with a harrowing past.

When he’s ‘gifted’ with a state-of-the-art companion that he can’t send back, Peyton is far from pleased. She’s sentient. She’s sexy. She’s everything he doesn’t want complicating his life. He nicknames her Hell. She nicknames him a lot of unladylike things, at least in her mind. Because there are rules to a relationship like theirs. Master and Slave. She’s supposed to obey him in all things. But if that’s true, why can’t she stop meddling in his life?

Unfortunately, time is running out for Hell. Her own desperate past is about to catch up to her with deadly results.

Part 1 of the 5-part Project Hell sci-fi romance series. This serial story contains cliffhangers and is meant to be read in order.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great start to an exciting and intriguing serial! 7 January 2016

Peyton’s Doll is a sexy and exciting start to a new series/serial by Felicity Kates. It’s a mixture of syfy/dystopian/post-apocalyptic/erotica/romance, all put together into one delightful package that will leave you wanting, and needing, more.

Peyton’s been living a solitary life ever since his beloved wife Sarah died. His family and friends have been worried about him, so they’ve banded together to purchase him a state-of-the-art “doll”- a companion that they hope will help bring him back to life.

To say he’s unhappy with this development would be putting it mildly. But when he discovers that Hell isn’t quite what he anticipated, nor is she exactly what his family and friends purchased for him, things start to get a little more interesting. Peyton’s expecting a docile, ask no questions, do as he says doll, and Hell turns out to be everything but. In the short amount of time they are together she’s managed to turn his world upside down, and life as he knows it begins to change.

I found Peyton and Hell to be such interesting and engaging characters. Peyton is so stoic, but with Hell slowly infiltrating his world he discovers it’s not as easy as it was to close himself off to his feelings. Even while pushing her away, he finds he still wants to help her, and protect her, from the evil she’s endured. Peyton is so appealing to me, I felt so sorry for him, as he is still completely heartbroken over the death of his wife. But with Hell it seems he’s finally, slowly, starting to open up again. They both seem to be exactly what the other needs at this point in time, and it’s going to be interesting to see how things develop and grow between them.

Felicity has such a way with words, she draws the reader into the worlds she creates. It was easy to lose myself in this story, to imagine I was there in that little space with Peyton and Hell. I’m really looking forward to the next piece in their story.

*I know serials aren't for everyone, but I hope you will give this one a chance. And if syfy isn't quite your thing either, well I hope you'll open your mind and step out of your comfort zone and give Peyton's Doll a go, I don't think you will be sorry.

5.0 out of 5 stars So good I am still shuddering. 27 March 2016

From the first page I knew I was going to love this book. An android doll that we come to know by the name of Hell. A perfect blend of science fiction, mystery, intrigue to the max. Some of the hottest sex I have ever read in print, due to the minimal way Felicity wrote it. Just when I thought I knew where this might be headed, I was dead wrong. There are enough reviews on here that tell you more about the story, so I will not repeat. Felicity Kates, you took me on a roller coaster of pure pleasure while reading. You have a gift for storytelling, while weaving words throughout that challenged me as a reader. When I came to the end I yelled out, NO! I need more! I'm craving more..Thank goodness I get to start the second in the series tonight.

5.0 out of 5 stars One word.... GASP 4 February 2016

5 stars for several things but the first one being, the writing was FLAWLESS.

The pace and flow of the immediate scenes was just perfect, not sure how else to say it. I don't mean to but my mind automatically critiques these things whether I want it to or not.

The second reason for the 5 stars was the DETAIL. From the characters to the internal processes, to the external processes to the setting, all of it was flawlessly woven into each scene, not once weighing down the pace. Very impressive. I have a habit of picking up other writer's talents and I can honestly say, I HOPE my brain sucked that one up lol.

Third reason for the 5 stars is world building. It wasn't DUMPY like many sci-fi's tend to be, again, well woven into the storyline.

Oh, AM TEMPTED to give 4 star for the SHORT A$$$$$$ STORY!!! But since I cannot stand people who give low ratings for the length of a book, I won't. The data is right there for people to see before they purchase so, no excuses. It's like crying about the socks being the wrong color because you neglected to choose one. But I AM tempted, I was not happy getting to that little spot in the story where it CUTS OFF lol.

Oh I almost forgot the erotica. Def needs 5 stars for that. This is CERTAINLY a sci-fi erotic romance all the way. Erotica from jump and very well layered throughout. But where it gets hot and heavy.... yeah.... get your cyber smokes ready, you'll need one or three after you read. Especially after that one scene where she ties him up for his own protection hahaha. VERY clever twist on that. GAAAAAAAAASP! hahaha

4.0 out of 5 stars Great storyline and well written 24 July 2016

The premise of this story is so interesting. Ms. Kates is a talented writer and the only reason I'm giving part one of this serial four stars instead of five is that I really wish she'd done more to develop the backstory - I was a little confused in the beginning, but once I figured out what was going on, I thought there were some fantastic ideas she could really run with and develop more. Hell's character is certainly intriguing - I'm looking forward to finding out what Ms. Kates does with her. Admittedly, the suppressed memories bothered me though. I don't want to include any spoilers so that's all I'll write about that. I've already got a copy of part two. Overall, for a short serial, she'll pull you right into the story and keep you flipping pages. Well worth the $0.99!

5.0 out of 5 stars Pick up this FANTASTIC Sci-Fi Romance! 13 January 2016

I received this book for a fair review, however I loved it so much I purchased the book so I can collect the series! Peyton's Doll is the first book to what I predict is going to be a fabulous series! This is such a different idea-mixing science-fiction and romance. I can't wait to find out what/who "Hell" is and what Peyton has to do with her. I love Felicity's writing and subject matter. Her characters definitely pull me in! I can't wait til the second book comes out!
