Product Description

Eight years after her fiancé was murdered, attorney Megan Kole has fully reconciled two areas of her life: her intelligent son, who never knew his father, and the thriving law practice that is her late father's legacy. The remainder of Megan's world stalled in a paralyzing grief that she effectively compartmentalized until a transfer to Seattle brings a handsome, mysterious billionaire into her life.

Daemon Ros has been an outcast since the day he was born. His parents’ lavish but emotionally-vacant lifestyle prompted him to assert his financial independence at a young age. His ailing brother is the only connection he allows to penetrate the vault he has built around his heart, until a devoted mom and her precocious son introduce him to the true meaning of family bonds.

But a chance legal encounter where Megan acts as mediator in a Ros family business dispute leads to far more than either expected. When a shocking truth leads to a love affair between Megan and Daemon that is forbidden in every conceivable way, the barely-restrained chemistry that scorches between them threatens an injunction on everything and everyone they hold dear. As pasts cross, memories threaten, and lies surface in a trial far more deadly than anything inside a courtroom, an arbitration of the heart could prove the only way for them both to make it out alive.

This book had me hooked from the first page and left me feeling all warm and fuzzy when it ended. This was one super emotional read with amazing twists and turns. The major twist I did not see coming and it took the story from WOW to holy freakin amazeballs.
A Problematic Love had its ups, downs and turnarounds but it all flowed perfectly begging you to turn the page (or swipe the screen if reading the eBook) There is once scene on a beach that for me, made the story. That one scene encompassed everything and left me with a big goofy smile.
When the book starts Megan is still devo over the death of Zach (like we all are SNIFF) and is now all settled into her new life. Her and lil Zach are happy and then they meet Daemon *SWOON** Move over Johnathan, there's a new Rebecca Rohman hottie in the house. Mr Ros is ohh so fine and he is the perfect match for our feisty Megan. Their journey is not smooth but it only adds to the depth of the love and feelings towards each other.
It was nice to be reunited with the characters from Love Lies and the D.A. and Love M.D. and how this story is linked to the two, very well played Rebecca.
I highly recommend this book which is now my fav Rebecca Rohman read.

4.5 stars. Reviewed on behalf of A Book Lover's Emporium book blog

I have no idea where to begin with this review. I honestly loved this book and the rollercoaster ride of emotions it takes you on.

Megan Kole has experienced some heart wrenching losses in her life. Her fiancée was killed 8 years ago leaving her to raise their son, Zach, by herself with the support of her loving family. She lives for her son and just trudges through life one day at a time. She finally accepts her lot as a single mother and a brilliant mediator for her late fathers’ law firm. When asked to oversee the opening of their new office in Seattle, she doesn’t jump at the chance but reluctantly agrees to help her brother, Jonathan, out of a situation.

Daemon Ros is a self-made billionaire who is as cold in business as he is in his personal life. Having not experienced the love that a family can give him, he is an outcast and lives most of his life in Europe, only coming to the US to visit his brother, Donovan (the only person he truly gives a damn about).

Megan and Daemons’ first meeting is significant for both their hearts and their lives. This meeting brings about a series of events that neither of them anticipated and will endanger not just their own lives, but the lives of everyone they both care about. Is their love really worth the death of their families?

I adored this book and the way it was written. Both Megan and Daemon are complex characters with attributes that we can all relate to. I completely understand why they both fall for each other and why they want to protect one another. All I can say is poor Daemon. How much loss and agony can one guy stand? My heart ached for the man and what he uncovers and goes through.

ARC REVIEW

A Problematic Love is a 5* +++ read and the best book I have read by Rebecca Rohman and for me that means a lot because her other books are outstanding !

Megan Kole has been through hell and still mourns the lost of her beloved fiancée but always keeps strong for her son Zach who she has built her world around. Megan is a strong independent feisty woman who has had a strong family network supporting her always.

Daemon Ros is a self made billionaire who has never felt loved by his parents and never shown love or opened himself up to anyone expect his brother Donavan. Daemon is a cold man who works hard and never shows weakness and never allows anyone too close.

The unexpected twists that take place when Megan transfers to Seattle left my head spinning, the first twist happens very early in the book and the betrayal, twists and horrors slowly unfold throughout.

A Problematic Love has it all, shocks, unexpected dark twists, hurt, love, steamy hot/kinky scenes ~ I laughed, ugly cried and fanned myself throughout this story.

I read a lot of books and this one is written to the highest standards, it flows brilliantly, kept me hooked and what you think is going to happen doesn't. If you have not read anything by this author I cannot stress enough how much you are missing out on a truly talented author.

A Problematic Love can be read has a standalone but for me I felt more connected to the characters because I have read the other books written by Rebecca Rohman.

Megan and Daemon have an interesting first meeting. This initial introduction starts a chain reaction that changes both of their lives forever. The story certainly proves that secrets don't stay buried. The two protagonists are actually very similar in their personalities. Each of them have been living for someone else. They have forgotten to live their lives for themselves. So it is high time that they do something that is just for them. However their love is forbidden. Guilt and outside pressure force them to keep their distance. But it isn't just Megan's family that have issues with her relationship. Dark and sinister forces are lurking about and trying to tear Daemon and Megan apart.

Throughout the story, Daemon suffers a great deal of loss. I swear, the poor guy can't catch a break! But as the story progresses, his luck finally turns for the better. It is most definitely a journey of self-discovery not just for Daemon but for Megan too. After the loss of her fiance, she needs to find herself once more. To not only be Megan the lawyer or Megan the mother but Megan the woman.

It just goes to prove how invested you become in the story. How much you feel for the characters and their situation. But fret not. There are plenty of giggles and hot-under-the-collar moments too. Daemon is a little bit kinky ;)

*"Kneel on the bed at the foot, facing the headboard, with your thighs apart, and hold on to the posts. I have a present for you."
"What are you going to give me?"
"You said you're open to experimenting, right?"*

Ooo, I wonder what he has planned ;)

Zach, Megan's son is utterly adorable. And I love seeing characters from the other books by Rebecca Rohman.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Problematic Love 28 March 2016

This is an emotionally fulfilling story. Rohman had me in tears more than once, but she also had me laughing and experiencing joys and successes alongside the characters. The plot was full of intrigue that kept me glued to the pages. The mystery and subtle suspense that winds its way throughout definitely had me hooked. Rohman doesn’t write with the typical style that you find in most romances, but this is a fantastic change of pace. I love how elusive things seem, yet the smallest tidbit of information also shines through in her seamless writing. There was definitely has the ‘holy smokes! I didn’t see that coming’ factor right from the get-go, a ‘holy cow! Could you just imagine’, if you will.

Rohman’s seamless writing allowed the story to shine through as she jumps right into the body of the story, with very little introduction. Readers get to know the characters as the story progresses. Her straightforward and inviting writing style that allows the characters’ emotions to shine through. I like that it’s written in the 1st person, and how the main characters think. It really gave me insight into who they are and what they want. She also allows the law/lawyers shine through without becoming overly technical and bogging down the story.

This novel is a fantastic addition to Rohman’s work. It was a blast to read, being both suspenseful and fun. I’d definitely recommend it to others.

Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.
5.0 out of 5 stars It's a beautiful, incredible read and I can't tell you how much I loved it! 11 April 2016

I have wanted to read Rebecca Rohman as soon as I saw Love, Lies & The D.A. - I fell in love with the gorgeous cover and added it to my TBR, so when the chance came along to read and review A Problematic Love, I completely jumped on it! I was so excited to read it because I loved the beautiful cover, but the synopsis and the fact that Ms. Rohman wrote it, was what really did it for me. I was sure that this would be an amazing book and it was - I absolutely loved it and now I can't wait to read more from her!

Megan is the best kind of woman - she's classy but passionate, fierce and protective, and she's strong but she also knows how to vulnerable and let Daemon in. Megan is sophisticated, elegant, smart, and stubborn. I loved Megan and being inside her head, she's a wonderful heroine, and she'll make you proud.

It didn't take me long before I was a total goner for Daemon. He is every bit Megan's equal in terms of goodness - he's unbelievably kind, generous, and humble. Daemon is the type of person who will do anything for the people he loves, he's completely selfless and always thinking of what he can do to take care of his loved ones or what would make them happy. Granted, he does have his male moments and times where he's not the warmest guy in the world, but after everything he's been through, I couldn't blame him and that didn't make me love him any less - it just made me love him more. Daemon utterly stole my heart and he is one hero I will never forget!

One thought that I had while reading A Problematic Love was how real and believable it was to me. I actually felt like I was there with Megan and Daemon in a way that I haven't experienced with other books. I felt like it was real life and not just a story in a book and I really enjoyed making that connection to Meghan and Daemon!

A Problematic Love is full of mystery, suspense, danger, and intrigue. It's heartbreaking but also heartwarming, it made me cry and made my nose sting, and it made me laugh and smile and melt. It's a beautiful, incredible read and I can't tell you how much I loved it!

A Problematic Love is a standalone, it's told from Daemon and Megan's POV, and they get their well-deserved happily-ever-after!

It's not often that an author comes along that writes stories so beautifully, you know you'll love it no matter what it's about.

That's Rebecca for me.

Her books aren't just words on paper. They are works of art that you can visualize page after nail-biting page. She combines the perfect amount of romance and suspense, intrigue and sensuality. And it's not in one or two chapters. It's start to finish.

She creates characters that are very easy to relate to. She humanizes them by giving them real conflict. Megan and Daemon are no exception. Out of every one of her books, these two might be my favorite.

Their lives are so vastly different, but they way she brings them together is flawless. Megan is still grieving the loss of her fiancee, while trying to be a strong single mom and successful career woman. She's got a loving support system and feels like she doesn't need any more.

Daemon is an absolute brilliant businessman, but has always felt like an outsider amongst his family. He's very closed off except to his brother. Daemon is a mystery that you want to unravel.

I love the way these two meet. It's the first of MANY little twists that Rebecca throws into the plot. Their story isn't a simple one, but it's an attention getter. They will captivate you and hold you hostage until you figure everything out. And just when you think you know, Rebecca changes direction.

If you've read previous books from her, you will see some familiar faces pop up, and I love that she incorporates previous characters. Problematic Love is a complex tale that flows seamlessly. You will go through an extreme range of emotions while reading this book. And I promise you, you'll love every second of it.

Along with the many twists and turns, this book keeps you gripped to the very end. Just when I thought I had it figured out in my head, it all changed!

I truly wish I could have given this book 5 stars but for me it was just a little too long, 542 pages according to amazon. As much as the last 30% of the book had me on the edge of my seat, screaming at my kindle and hiding behind my fingers like an awesome thriller movie, some of the build up to that was long winded and not necessary in my opinion. This does not put me off one iota from reading Rebecca’s other novels which explore characters and events mentioned in this one and which take place before this story.
5.0 out of 5 stars A Problematic Love Story of Hope, Redemption, Happily Ever After 4 April 2016

Megan Kole was ready to be married and start a family when her fiancé was murdered eight years ago. Everything she thought her life was going to be changed in a matter of hours. The only bright shining light after this tragedy was finding out that she was pregnant.

Now years later, she and her son are starting over in Seattle, opening a new law office within the family firm. Starting over isn't always easy, but moving on from her heartache has been tougher than she imagined. To make matters harder, she about a mysterious man that will take her breath away.

Daemon Ros decided long ago to never depend on his parents for anything. He's made his money with his own blood, sweat, and tears. The only person that has ever meant anything to him is his brother, Donavan. Always treated like the outsider within his own family, he's about to learn why when a very sexy lawyer walks into his life.

Daemon and Megan will embark on a mission that will have many twists and turns that will put their lives in jeopardy. The more time they spend together, the more the sexual tension builds. Even though they both fight it, their connection is undeniable.

Who's behind the threats? How far does this go? Can they solve the mystery before it's too late? Can Megan open her heart to another? Can Daemon open up and learn to love?

What an exceedingly phenomenal and stunning book that is full of intrigue, corruption, mystery, sorrow, love, and hope. Megan has been through a lot, but it hasn't lessened her determination. She's a strong-willed, independent woman that will do anything to protect those she loves. She stays true to herself through the adversity, and that is something that anyone can respect.

Daemon appears like a tough guy rough around the edges, but there is a heart of gold underneath all those layers. The people he let's into his inner circle are few and far between, due to his upbringing he's a loner. But there is so much more to this man than anyone could ever imagine. Falling in love with Daemon isn't easy because he's the strong silent type, but once you get through, you'll want to let him go.

Rebecca Rohman has a brilliant way of telling a story that captures your soul. She grabs you from the start and won't let you go until the very end. With this book you will love, cry, scream, and smile. However, be sure to grab a box of tissues before you start because Rebecca will rip your heart out, but don't worry, she'll put it back together and you'll be happy for it.
