Product Description

Product Description

The problem with crazy is that crazy, by itself, has no context. It can be good crazy, bad crazy ... or crazy crazy—like it was when my ex-boyfriend sung about me on the radio.

Eighteen-year-old Kate couldn’t be more excited about finishing high school and spending the summer on tour with her boyfriend’s band. Her dad showing up drunk at graduation, however, is not exactly kicking things off on the right foot—and that’s before she finds out about his mystery illness, certain to end in death.
A mystery illness that she could inherit.
Kate has to convince everyone around her that her father is sick, not crazy. But who will be harder to convince? Her friends? Or herself?

The Problem With Crazy is a story about love and life; about overcoming obstacles, choosing to trust, and learning how to make the choices that will change your life forever.

This story was a whirl wind of emotions. Let me say that a particular character really annoyed me and was a complete $*#% of a person that is putting it nicely, unfortunately there are people in this world who are like that. It made me think about how different people cope with heart breaking situations and how to take on the world at the same time. I'm looking forward to reading more about Kate, her family and friends.

Amazing story, had me hooked from the get go. I was on the verge of crying but had to stop myself when I realised I was at work! If I was in the comfort of my own home, I would definitely have ugly cried myself to sleep.

Keep doing what you're doing Lauren, because it is amazing.

Disclosure: This ebook was provided by the author in exchange for an HONEST and not necessarily positive review.

From the opening chapter, the author caught my interest by the creation and voice of her main character Kate. There was something so very real and truly human about her character that I was drawn to her inner dilemma immediately. It became clear, very early on, that Kate was a character I could believe in and readily follow.

Lauren McKellar has created a main character who journeys through an array of situations and challenges. Along her journey, it was a pleasure to watch Kate take shape and grow. Alongside her own personal growth, the relationships she develops ensured this story became a captivating and heartbreaking read.

It has been a while since I read a YA piece of fiction which deals with reality, with the added bonus of self-discovery and sweet love. The Problem With Crazy is an uplifting albeit devastating read. I cried several times, yet finished the book feeling better for reading it.
