Great modern twist on 'Beauty and the Beast'!!!!!!

This was my first book by Xavier Neal and it wont be my last. When I read this book, I thought of it as a kind of modern day twist on 'Beauty & the Beast', and I loved that movie. Brynley was a feisty woman who doesn't take a backward step from anyone and it was quite refreshing to see such a strong female. After Brynley's mum falls unexpectedly ill, she is taken to her place of work to be by her side. What she didn't expect is to be taken to a private billionaires house which holds so many secrets. Here we get to meet the secretive and broken Weston Wilcox, the hidden multi billionaire who has been hiding from the outside world for over a decade. Brynley cant help but try and unravel the mystery that is Weston, and Weston cant help but be drawn to the beautiful fierce spirit that is Brynley. This book has many twists, deception, shattering secrets and undeniable chemistry. I can't wait for the next one in this series.

I love discovering authors new to me, extremely happy to have found Xavier Neal. Loved this book but be warned it is not a standalone. Neal's writing style was easy to read and definately included a few hot scenes without over describing.

Wes has lived in a self imposed exile, from the outside world, until Brynley turns it upside down. She comes to his estate to be near her ill mother, Wes' employee, and he is captivated from the minute she exits the car. Concerned with his appearance from a previous disfiguring accident, Wes hasn't been seen by anyone except employees for 10 years but he cannot resist Bryn, slowly exposing himself more and more. There a a few twists along the way and no HEA yet, I'll be waiting for book 2 to find out if he gets the girl.

This story worked for me, it was not the best story I've read, but the flow between the characters allowed you to believe the storyline, and with a strong female character it was heading in my type of direction. It was a book that allowed itself to grow and provide just enough insight into the main characters for you to understand their reasoning and reactions. An enjoyable HEA.

I just love this writer. Everything she does is awesome.

I honestly couldn't take to the male lead to start with but after reading about him a little more I softened. The female lead is fabulous and I wouldn't change a thing! Some of the characters I could quite happily kick in the face!!

But this is what Xavier does best, she drags you into her world and makes you feel a part of it. To me books are all about escapism from the sometimes boring things we have to endure in life - Xavier's work epitomises this for me.

Fantastic read, fantastic writer. Keep up the great work xxx

Romantic and emotional with a dash of mystery and suspense. A modern interpretation of a classic fairy tale, Private was a great read.
I fell for Wes’ character from the very beginning. He’s an emotionally and physically scarred man which I always find intriguing. This reclusive and somewhat broken character reminds us that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Once he meets Bryn, a spunky and confident woman, he learns that life’s challenges can be met head-on, and with the love and support of a good woman, they can be overcome.
I’m guessing more twist and turns for this couple in book two await and I can’t wait to read what the author has in store for me.

Wish I could meet a billionaire like Wes Wilcox!

I so wanted to give this story five stars, but my immediate dislike of the female lead character, Brynley, prevents me from doing so. I really liked Wes Wilcox, the very private billionaire who suffered both physical and mental scars in a plane crash ten years ago that killed his parents and the pilot, who was Brynley's father. As you get into the story, you find out more about that fateful night and why his guilt and self-loathing knows no bounds. Although Brynley is beautiful, smart, funny, and educated, she came across as crass and totally disrespectful -- a woman who doesn't care whether or not she makes a good impression on anyone. When she shows up on his doorstep to visit her sick mom, who works for Wes, he's drawn to her. As they begin to spend time together, Wes begins to open up to Brynley, which surprises those who do know him since he's hidden himself from the public for the past ten years. Wes, his best friend and employee, J.T., and the mystery surrounding Brynley's mom's illness, kept me interested in this story. And, of course, there's the steamy sex . Even though Brynley's good traits do come out, I'd already formed a negative opinion of her, so I hope she changes, at least a little, in the stories to come. Wes has me hooked, so I'm looking forward to the continuation of his and Brynley's story.
