Product Description

Pretty Scary Princess box set of 4 books (books 5-8) continues the story in the While Princesses Sleep box set in the: Princesses of Chadwick Castle Adventure series. It is a tale of two sisters who are princesses.
The Princesses Of Chadwick Castle Adventure is an eight-book series about two princess sisters, Elle age 12, and Belle, 10. Great for readers who love Cinderella-type fairy tales and European princess stories. The stories are ideal for bedtime reading for girls 6-8 with color illustrations a parent can enjoy together with a child. It's also useful for an education in art appreciation for homeschoolers especially for readers 9-11.

The story starts with the first book, While Princesses Sleep and diaries their adventures which culminates in Book 8. While Princesses Sleep opens with the Princess Elle discovering a strange sound in the night. Curious, she determines the reason for these mysterious noises and starts the adventure with her sister, Belle. Something is afoot at the castle and they must find out what this is. However, finding the truth behind the secrets they stumble upon leads them to strange answers? What sort of trouble will the princesses get themselves into? Pretty, Scary Lady box set continues the tale.

This children's illustrated story is written from a first person point of view. In the princesses' adventure they are also introduced to the world of ballet. The series features artwork from the art masters whose works have entered the public domain and are no longer restricted by copyright. The spin-off series (coming soon) will deal more with ballerinas and ballet stories.

Who is the princess castle series for?
As a homeschool mom I have always enjoyed reading to the younger kids during read-aloud sessions and what better time than right before bed? For young readers ages 6-8 the series makes an excellent bedtime story. I wrote the series primarily for girls age 7-12. I hope to expose young readers to artwork from master artists of the world. My hope is that the princess series will be a children's illustrated classic someday.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful set of books 3 October 2016

Having enthusiastically devoured the first four books in this wonderful set of books, I purchased the box set of Books 5-8 in the series with not even a moment’s hesitation. I purchased the series to read with my niece, while she was vacationing with our family, and we spent four nights together eagerly reading the first four books in the series. We approached the final four books in the series with the same amount of enthusiasm and we were not disappointed. I love how the author has used a combination of both words and pictures, to convey the full scope of the story and to fully capture the imagination of the reader/s. The artwork is such a lovely inclusion in the books, and I also love how it gives a slight educational element to the stories, which is ideal for opening up some additional discussion about the story and artwork and concepts related to art. The story continues on from the first four books, and the adventure, fun, mystery, intrigue, sibling relationship, creativity, fantasy, and imaginative plot continues in the final four books in the series. As with the first four books, the writing style is ideal for young girls, and would likely be perfect for readers aged probably 7 and above (depending on reading skills), and for parents/carers looking for a series of books to read to their child of around 5 and above. The thing I personally loved the most about this series of books was the simplistic, traditional, wholesome, innocent, clean elements of the writing and the story itself, and it took me back to reading as a youngster myself, of stories which were full of adventure and fun, told in a clean, simple manner (think Enid Blyton). They are the style of books which you could read over and over again, as there are many exciting, fun aspects to the plot, and the characters, settings and storyline are appealing and interesting. Each book is quite short, and can easily be read in one sitting. I read one book a night with my niece, and she was very eager to move onto the next book in the series the following night, as the story continues on in each new book in the series. I am very happy to have stumbled across this entire series, and I certainly recommend these books to parents/carers who are looking for a lovely story, which is very age appropriate, and one which would be especially appealing to young girls who adore princesses, castles, and mystery stories.
5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible Series 3 October 2016

I have read the first four books in the series and it is pretty relaxing despite the suspense elements in the book, but in this Princess Chadwick Box Set which contains book 5 to 8, the author has stepped up her writing and story telling skills. It is no longer about a birthday celebration, about the dancing or about the ballerinas. It is about something more pressing and important. I like that the author writes about Princess Elle and Princess Belle intentions to discover the secret passage and trapdoor in the castle in book 5 and goes on about how the both princesses discover a plan of treason while hiding in the dungeon with the French ballerinas in book 6, the story is on going and just picked up right at the end of each book with no lapse. As for the characterization, Princess Elle has a strong character in the first four books but in this box set (book 5 to 8), her character grows rapidly as we move to another book in the series. Sometimes, she seems too mature and very sensible despite being a 12 years old girl but this is a princess, her manners, and her education tops everything. She is the heir to the throne and she proves it since young that she is worthy of the throne. She even looks out and cares for her sister, Princess Belle in most of the situations. As for the ending, I like it. Everything settles down; the treason and the traitors being taken care of as what should have been done. Overall, I would rate this series at 5 stars, not only because of the amazing storyline from the first four books but because of the more important matter were discussed in the next four books. I would highly recommend this book to any parents to buy it for their children as this series provided the best lessons and moral value hinted in the best storyline.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good to launch an art study, awkward story 13 March 2017

The story was written to the artwork, so while fun, it's a bit awkward at times. Each book highlights a different artist, so it would a fun way to start a study of that artist.
