Product Description

Live each day as if it were your last. Worry only about yourself. Work hard and never, ever fall in love. That’s Olivia Buchanan’s motto and she stands by it every day.
Feisty, headstrong and confident, recent graduate Liv is fighting to succeed in the male dominated field she has chosen as her career. As an architect for her best friend's father's respected London based company, her chance to shine and become recognised comes when she lands the prestigious account for GO Sports and Leisure.
Armed with her plans and determination, Liv is ready to deliver the presentation of her life. That is, until he walks in. The mysterious personal trainer from the gym. The only man to have ever made her heart flutter. But he isn't all he seems.
When MMA fighter, Nathan Oakes offers Liv a business proposition to join him in Southern France, she’s left questioning his motives and wonders if she should refuse. She’s also equally intrigued by the prospect of what the trip could do for her career.
Liv has no time for a relationship. Nate doesn’t want one. When forced to live side by side, feelings are stretched and emotions are battled. Can they keep their professional and personal lives separate, preventing them from falling into something they both need to avoid?

This is the first book of this author’s that I have read and I have to say ‘I found a diamond in the rough.’ I feel like just writing a review of ‘this is a great read – you need it on your list’ but I would be disappointed in myself if I did that.
Within minutes of starting this book, I was hooked. Fighter story! TICK! Witty writing – HUGE TICK! Fast paced, tension, drama, character development – tickety, tick, TICK!
I appreciate that it’s hard to not fall into the trappings of stereotypes especially when it comes to a female lead that’s not a stick figure. I don’t just mean in the physical sense but also the emotional and mental sense. EJ touches on them but she doesn’t delve, if anything, she empowers Olivia to face her fears and get the job done.
Olivia is an instantly likeable character. She’s on the cusp of her career launching to the stratosphere when cruel comments that echo the sentiments of her own thoughts send her confidence plummeting. Nathan Oakes comes into her world and it’s never going to be the same. They strike up a friendship first and foremost that quickly develops into something so much more for both of them.
There were some frustrations within this read from the characters and their behaviour. I’ve made it very clear in other reviews that the mindset of characters that say ‘I want you but I can’t allow myself to have you, therefore no one else can either’ sends me into a rage that nearly ends up with me smashing the phone. I won’t lie. This did have me exhaling through my nose like a bull but it quickly moved past that and I was able to let it go.
There are some moments where I was bent over laughing, there were other moments where I related all too well with Olivia. I love the nickname and picked up on its meaning instantly.

This is a gripping journey of discovering self-worth, learning to trust and putting your heart on the line.
Liv is a strong, feisty leading lady who I instantly connected and identified with. She knows what she wants and she goes for it but is there something missing in her career fuelled life?
Nathan is a hot, focused gym owner. What lies beneath that sculptured, hard exterior and what is it he really wants from Liv?
The sexual chemistry sizzles off the pages and the story carries you along, cocooning you in their world and keeping you on the edge of your seat.
Another fantastic book from this fabulous author.
