I have followed Ms. Barr's blog for some time and was happy to see the book come out; it is destined to be the go to book for anyone designing measurement programs. She walks the reader through all of the ins and outs of creating a solid foundation for a no nonsense performance plan. Like many other reviewers, I found myself saying yes to so many of the details that I knew but had not articulated into an approach. There will be many who say the book is "just common sense." This is the highest praise because it reflects the clarity and approachability of the book; common sense is rarely common practice.
I encourage anyone who is responsible for developing, reading, interpreting, or acting on business measures to read this work – it is a game changer.
