About the Author

I'm a new self published author who just got introduced to the writing world early 2013. My aunt suggested that I write a story because I'm an avid reader but I waved it off and left it alone. Well this year, a story came to me and I went with it. It took me a little bit but I finally got a story idea that worked and now I can't stop or control the characters/stories that keep popping up in my head. I'm born and raised in Canada and I live with my very wonderful and supportive husband, Michael. We don't have any children (yet) unless you count our cats. My hubby been my rock through this whole new experience for me. I couldn't have done it without him and my friends and family. One of the many things I love about this new chapter in my life is that I'm learning constantly. Evvie starts her new job and doesn’t want her family to know and gets her best friend Kane not to tell them. When Evvie’s confronted by a man and calls him an a$$$, Kane tells her she just met the owner Brett.
The chemistry is amazing between Evvie and Brett, although Brett is damaged by things in his past, he realises that Evvie is what he wants and sets about convincing her what they have is real.
Evvie’s over people controlling her in her life particularly her brothers and father, although with Brett it feels more like possession than control and she keeps telling herself she can’t go through the heartbreak her father did.
Evvie and Brett have a lot to overcome, the walls they have and the jealously they both feel towards anyone that goes near the other and their insecurities, and the fact that Evvie thinks he doesn’t trust her are obstacles to their happiness.

I was drawn into the pages of this book easily, the writing flowed .
Evvie a strong character with a sexual appetite to match her new man Brett MacLean.
powerful dominating over sexed bar owner .
They met , they loved , had hot grinding sex & learnt somethings about each other but not enough.
I loved this book could understand the longing between them both ...

Her family is worth knowing as is Brett's past .
Off to review book 2 now ........... I finished one then started straight onto the next .

Hot damn! I will say I loved this book, but I already knew I would.

After reading the Shattered Series by Jo-Anna Walker, I developed a series hate for Brett MacLean. Once I heard he was getting his own trilogy, I was frustrated but hopeful. Thankfully Jo-Anna proved me wrong and made me fall in love with Brett all over again.
He's a domineering a-hole that runs a successful bar. One in which he meets Evvie after she is hired as his new bartender.

The first meeting between Brett and Evvie is explosive temper-wise, but sets the dynamic for the rest of the story. Evvie comes from a background of an overprotective father and brothers, so it's no surprise when she holds her own against Brett. :)

This story is full of hot steamy sex that is raw and powerful... Although their relationship has a few ups and downs, they definitely have the sex figured out. ;)

I loved this and I can't wait to see how Jo-Anna proceeds with Brett and Evvie in the next book. ;)

wow I have to say I loved it. Brett Maclean is my new hot and sexy Alpha. This story starts with Evvie, she's starting a new job at a club owned by Brett Maclean. He has a reputation for being arrogant, self absorbed and a huge womaniser, taking what he wants and not giving a crap. Evvie understands what kind of man he is but the moment they meet she feels like she needs him in a way that's completely new to her. Not very experienced with men, Evvie is guarded, she's grown up with 3 brothers and a father in jail, she has a history which she doesn't enjoy talking about. Getting on with her job, things change when Brett suggests a proposition that changes the both of them forever. This story, has plenty of twists to keep you entertained, the characters are great and although the plot isn't completely revealed in this initial book, it keeps you hooked, I am looking forward to starting 'Revealed by You' which I also downloaded for free. There are some spelling errors but nothing significant to reduce my rating. I love Brett and although he's a dominating personality, he really knows how to make Evvie feel amazing, they share a great chemistry, and the sex is descriptive and hot as hell. I wasn't sure whether I should blush or take a cold shower. Overall, if you are a lover of FSOG, The Crossfire series, This Man trilogy, you will love this.

I think I snapped this book up on a freebie offer, luckily, because it just didn't do it for me at all.
I love reading about sex as much as the next person, but my God, there was way too much of unnecessary sex waffling in this. I mean, the scenes went on for pages. PAGES. And then again. And again.
The cute little nickname he gave her drove me insane - Loverrrr. Just too much. I ended up skimming and I don't know if that's as a problem with me or not because this book worked for so many others - I just didn't connect with it.
I wanted to love it but unfortunately I didn't.

Don't get me wrong I do like this book but there is just something about it which makes it lack something. The main male character really annoyed me at times with his use of "lover" in a load of his sentences. The female character I really did like but was there really any need for them to have so much sex. I read this book mainly because it was free as I certainly would not have paid a lot of money for this book. Will be reading the second book as when I downloaded it that was free.

This was a free download as I wouldn't have bought it. I suppose I was expecting more from this story.

Evvie starts a new job at Brett's club. He has a reputation as a womaniser and Evvie doesn't have the same experience with men.
For me the story didn't jell together, I can't say that Brett's character appealed to me.
If you like arrogant male characters and excessive sex scenes then give this is try.
I've downloaded the free sequel. Undecided whether I read it.

I read the shattered series beforehand, where we meet Brett and I wasn't 100% sure of it at all, so was really worried about this book as I'd already bought it- but I was totally wrong! This trilogy was far far better than the shattered series and was an exciting gripping trilogy.

This book beginnings the start of Brett and Evvie's amazing love story together full of dominance and all consuming love.

Remember this is book 1 of 3.
